Their inclusion of a supplier's catalog could enable the backyard mechanic to build their own car to race on the local dirt track. The inclusion of a small glossary would benefit a novice.
This title explains, in-dept, the important features of racing the small cars on dirt or paved tracks. The precise illustrations, charts, and graphs will expand the knowledge of a fan for watching from the stands or in front of the TV. The greater your knowledge of the sport the more enhanced your enjoyment.
This is what it takes to make those flying, rolling and bouncing cars have more exciting trills per lap than Talladega.

A Wild Rides! series book, A.R. Schaefer's SPRINT CARS gives very brief highlights of the sport of sprint car racing for young readers. The illustrations convey all the excitement that surrounds this field of racing.
A good beginner book for a young driver just building his first soapbox car. Not a bad stocking stuffer for the big fans who can still remember the thrill of "gettin' it in the dirt."

Does not cover Sprint Turbo
Chilton manuals have gotten a lot better in the last few years.The earlier trade-paperback-size books with the predominantly white covers always seemed to me to try to cover too many cars in one volume, resulting in not enough specific info on any one model; photos were few and far between, with the occasional unclear line drawing instead.But the newer, 9x12-format books with the black edge around the cover are much better.There are lots of photos instead of line drawings, and excellent electrical diagrams.Also, though the books still cover more than one model, clear distinctions are made between procedures that are different for different models.(Here, for example, the early Chevy Sprint is really quite a different car from the later Geo Metro; for one thing, the rear suspension is a dead axle with Panhard rod on the earlier car, but is fully independent on the later car---but the manual treats each separately in depth.)

However, note that this book is a bit biased towards the later cars (badged Geo Metro and Suzuki Swift in the USA), and, in particular, has little or no coverage of the '87-'88 Chevy Sprint Turbo---unfortunate since that car is kind of a cult item, has some significant differences from the non-turbo car of the same year (multipoint fuel injection instead of carbs, for one thing!), and the factory service manual supplement that covered it is NLA from GM or Suzuki.

Disappointed
I was looking for a Chilton repair manual for a 1995 Geo Metro, and that is what I typed in in the search box. What I received was a manual for a 1985-93 Geo Metro. I tried to contact the seller but received no responce.

Just what I expected
This repair manual was in excellent shape. I bought a total of 3 Manuals and each went into one of the cars I have. I also have complete shop manuals in the garage for each of them.I keep them up myself and use the manuals often.

Almost as good as a factory manual, and a whole lot cheaper.
A good service manual for the money on the 3 cylinder Geo Metro / Suzuki Sprint. Complete with wiring diagrams and a master index. An OEM manual is more detailed, but costs way more if you can even find one.

Got the book, its about useless
There is little troubleshooting help here.If you need a walk through on a tune up, this will show you how.If you want to go beyond that, go somewhere else.Try looking up an ignition problem (personal experience).Or replacing fusable links.It mentions that they exist, but not much beyond that.And the index is nothing less then a poorly organized, frustrating mess.At best, this makes for a particularly ugly coffee table book. ... Race wife
I'm not much of a reader because I don't have the attention span, but I couldn't put this book down.I'm glad to have a novel set in the racing world that I know and love.Excellent job, Sutton.

Lion Tamers is FAB
I rate this book as one of my top ten all time favorites. Sutton has a surperb writing style that draws you in and characters who hold you there to the very end. Not many books make feel each and every emotion - this one does every single time I read it.
