2-0 out of 5 stars I am not sure that this is good book..
I just want to mention that defensive check is not shown good, as a 10 year handball player I could say that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Physical Educators
This book was instrumental in our decision to teach Team Handball to our Physical Education Majors at Butler University in Indianapolis.Besides the fact that the book spells out the sport step-by-step, there are manyuseful tips and drills to aid in the teaching process. In addition, I knowReita Clanton and know her to be one of the most professional, knowledgableand personable people I have met.She has done wonders for the sport, andcontinues to promote the learning through this text.It is a must forphysical educators of all levels. ... Excerpt: Team handball (also known as handball, Olympic handball or European handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball to throw it into the goal of the other team. The team with the most goals after two periods of 30 minutes wins. Modern handball is usually played indoors, but outdoors variants exist in the form of field handball (which was more common in the past) and beach handball. American handball is a completely different sport. The game is quite fast and includes body contact as the defenders try to stop the attackers from approaching the goal. Contact is only allowed when the defensive player is completely in front of the offensive player, i.e. between the offensive player and the goal. This is referred to as a player sandwich. Any contact from the side or especially from behind is considered dangerous and is usually met with penalties. When a defender successfully stops an attacking player, the play is stopped and restarted by the attacking team from the spot of the infraction or on the nine meter line. Unlike in basketball where players are allowed to commit only 5 fouls in a game (6 in the NBA), handball players are allowed an unlimited number of "faults," which are considered good defence and disruptive to the attacking team's rhythm. Goals are scored quite frequently in handball; usually both tea...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=13730 ... Read more

Excerpt: Oman Sail is an exciting new initiative whose aim is to rekindle Oman's long and glorious maritime heritage. The structure, which was formed in 2008, operates with the support and guidance of the Ministry of Tourism and is achieving the aims of its charter through a carefully considered strategy, with plans that extend many years into the future. In 2008 Oman burst onto the global sailing scene by announcing an Extreme 40 team competing in the second edition of the hugely successful iShares Cup. Crewed by World and Olympic champions, 'Masirah', as the boat was named, featured a specially chosen Omani sailor during each race. As well as promoting Oman as a premiere tourist destination to the high end demographic which sailing attracts, the series gave the budding Omani sailors real time experience at the highest level of sailing. With events in France, Germany, Italy, Britain and Holland, the Oman Sail team came a very credible fourth overall after such talented teams as Alinghi, BT and Team Origin. The 2009 iShares Cup sees Oman being the only team turning out 2 boats, one of which will be purely Oman branded and the second which will be representing Oman under various sponsors. The Oman boat 'Masirah' will again be skippered by Pete Cumming and helmed by Chris Draper. The second boat will be skippered and helmed by Loick Peyron, the French legend of sailing who recently returned from a Vendee challenge. As part of a wider project to help reignite Omans maritime heritage and inspire youngsters to take up sailing, Mohsin Al Busaidi left Muscat, Oman on ...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=21982603 ... Excerpt:National team caps and goals correctas of 31 December 2008. Katja Johanna Alice Nyberg (born 24 August 1979 in Stockholm, Sweden and grew up in Finland), is a naturalized Norwegian handball player, currently playing for Norwegian club Larvik HK as well as the Norwegian national team. Katja Nyberg is the daughter of Robert Nyberg, the first Finnish handball player to play professionally abroad. She was born in Stockholm while Robert was living in Sweden. The family later relocated to Finland where she grew up. Nyberg played sports from an early age, mainly javelin throw and other athletics varieties. She started her handball career in Helsinki club Sparta IF with her father as coach. Nyberg played for Sparta until she was 18. As handball in Finland was not competitive enough, she decided to pursue a professional career abroad. She first moved to Stockholmspolisens IF in Sweden where she played for one season (1997-1998), and then signed a contract with Norwegian club Larvik HK and played there for 7 years (1998-2005). During her seven seasons in Larvik, Nyberg achieved great success. She was named Player of the Year of the Norwegian league in 2001 and 2005. She also won the Cup Winners' Cup in 2004/05 and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2001/02 and 2003/04. By the time she left the club, she had scored an average of 6.65 goals per match, with 765 goals in 115 matches. In 2005, Nyberg signed a one year contract with Slovenian champion Krim Ljubljana. But her stay at Ljubljana was prematurely ended in October when she suffered a serious shoulder injury. It required surgery ...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=14791593 ... Read more
