4-0 out of 5 stars LSAT
This is a great book at a great price. I am ready for LSATs next month.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
this was an excellent help and I received the book quickly. thank you very much.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Mac computers.
I have not yet begun using this book to study for the LSAT - but after reading through the fine print in the book, I realized that the CD-ROM included is NOT compatible with a Mac computer. It would have been nice if the Amazon website indicated this to begin with. I don't need to be buying something I can't even use.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for jump starting your LSAT studies
This book is very good for beginning your LSAT studies. The book excels at getting you familiar with the LSAT, which I believe is its primary purpose. For people looking for the LSAT "silver-bullet," this book isn't that. Anyone looking to begin their LSAT studies should look no further than this book, but once its done its job of familiarizing you with the test then you have to move on to tougher, more focused material such as the Logic Games Bible. 4 stars for being a good book for LSAT beginners, I would only give 5 stars to a "silver-bullet only book you need for the LSAT book," which I'm sorry to say does not exist.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I was very disappointed to find that the 2008 Kaplan LSAT Premier has the same practice tests and examples as the 2007 Kaplan LSAT Premier.I thought that by buying both books that I could get 6 total practice tests and a lot more practice exercises.I was very wrong.I should have checked it out before I bought the 2008 book, but I didn't think Kaplan would simply keep the same material from year to year. Now I'm stuck with the same material in two seperate books. There are two changes to the 2008 LSAT regardingthe 2008 Kaplan LSAT Premier, but it wan't worth the price of buying both books. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This is All you Need For the LSAT!
Do not waste your money reading worthless tips unless you are scoring really low. Otherwise, get this book and the others from LSAC and get to work!

5-0 out of 5 stars great book
This book is great, and it helped prepare me for the LSAT more than I expected.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Transaction
Bad transaction. Many pages missing in this manual. Bad deal, I was not aware of that.

3-0 out of 5 stars LSAT PrepTests could use explanations
While it's beneficial to have the answers to the practice tests, they mean little if there's no explanation as to why A is better than B or C is the right answer as opposed to D.Explanations would make this workbook perfect.

2-0 out of 5 stars 10 More Actua, Official LSAT PrepTests
I was disappointed with this book.I thought the book would include more recent LSATs.I was especially hoping to get practice with the new comparative reading; this was not in any of the tests which were included in the book. However there was a section in the introduction that discussed the new comparative reading. ... Book Description
The PowerScore LSAT Logic Games Bible is the most comprehensive book available for the Logic Games section of the LSAT. The intent of this book is to provide you with an advanced system for attacking any game you encounter on the LSAT. This same system is covered in the live classes taught by PowerScore, and all of the methods and techniques discussed in the book have been tested in classroom situations over many years.

The book features and explains a detailed methodology for attacking the games section. All aspects of Logic Games are covered, from recognizing game types to diagramming rules to making inferences and answering questions. Entire chapters are devoted to the most advanced game techniques and to time management strategies.

Logic Games are divided into individual types, and a discussion follows that teaches you how to approach each type of Game, and drills are presented to help you apply and understand the techniques. Thereafter, real LSAT logic games are used to illustrate how the techniques apply to real tests. Using real LSAT questions is a must for high-level LSAT preparation, and twenty-one real LSAT logic games are contained in the book. Each logic game is accompanied by a detailed analysis of the game setup and related questions.

The author has over 12 years experience teaching the LSAT and has scored in the 99th percentile on a Law Services-administered test. An expert in LSAT preparation, he has overseen the preparation of thousands of students and founded two national LSAT preparation companies.

The Logic Games Bible can be supplemented by The Ultimate Set-Ups Guide, which features setups for every game in each released LSAT from 1995 to 2002.Also, both books provide access to a unique website for additional LSAT and Logic Games information, and has answers to frequently asked questions.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource
This book is a terrific way to boost your ability to handle the logic games on the LSAT.The strategies in this book are far more effective than the strategies in the Kaplan review.

5-0 out of 5 stars LSAT study
Well worth the investment! Already feeling more confident in my logic games abilities than when I bombed the LSAT last year:)

1-0 out of 5 stars Seriously Over-Priced Book with little help
Obviously, Powerscore's marketing campaign can be heart-felt at Amazon - I have heard that many of the customer reviews here are actually written by the company's marketing folks, who lurk around websites to promote their material. I scored a 176 on the June 2007 LSAT, and I can tell you hands down that 200 pages of this material will not help you improve on the LSAT (if anything, it makes you slow down on the games, which are critically detrimental to your performance). Contrary to what they claim, their methods will not work on every logic game. (it will only work on those examples that they show).

Here's how I studied, after wasting 2 weeks on this book:
1) Private tutoring! I cannot tell you how important this is.. save money on prep courses and get someone that will cater to your individual needs. This is the best way to improve on the games section.
2) Kaplan 180 book - this book is hands down the best book to improve your score, once you hit 160, and to go to the next level
3) If you have a couple months (even years to prep for), improve your logic!!! read some philosophy books (I recommend Graham Priest's "Logic: A very short introduction) or take a formal logic philosophy course. Really, there should be nothing that distinguishes a student who gets over a 170 and students who don't.

5-0 out of 5 stars a lifesaver
This book is a fabulous resource, especially if (like me) the LG is the one section you are struggling with and you don't want to pay for a full review course just for help with the games. After one run through the book I've already improved significantly on the games section.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product -- A Must have for anyone looking to ace the LSAT
there is no comparison between this book and others (like kaplan, princeton review, etc). it provides thorough explanations of all types of logic games and offers detailed approaches to solving each of them. my ability to do the puzzles in a time efficient manner has skyrocketed. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful
I found this LSAT prep book much more helpful then the Kaplan prep book.Very informative and gives you examples from actual LSATs since they write the actual LSAT.

4-0 out of 5 stars Efficient and thorough
I only had 3 weeks to prepare for the LSAT, and this book helped me quickly spot my weaknesses and create solutions to tackle them effectively.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful
I tried the Princeton Review books first and they were very difficult - by working in this prep book I realized that the Princeton materials were way harder than the test. This book helped build my confidence until I could tackle the more difficult questions in the PR materials, knowing that the actual tests published in the Official LSAT Superprep book were closer to actual test difficulty.I still used the PR materials too, knowing that if I could answer those tough questions then I could answer anything on the test, but I found the Official LSAT Superprep to be closer to the difficulty of the test, and more realistic by far.

3-0 out of 5 stars only moderately helpful
The explanations in this book are not as clear or accessible as the Powerscore LGB or LRB, and the explanations will not help you form any kind of coherent strategy or methodology for attacking the test...they will just show you what you should have recognized in each individual case.

There are only 2 real reasons to buy this:
(1) You are looking for Reading Comprehension tips
(2) You have already worked through all other released LSATs and need these February ones for additional practice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding official prep materials from LSAT
The LSAT is sufficiently idiosyncratic in both the form and substance of its content that studying with anything other than the official, exams released by the LSAT board (LSAC) runs the risk of doing more harm than good. The problem with such advice until recently is that before the release of this book a couple of years ago, none of the official materials provided anything more than an answer key, which could leave you scratching your head about why you got something wrong or how you were supposed to get to the correct answer to begin with. By supplying complete and generally pretty decent explanations for all the questions in the three exams included in this book, as well as providing a useful prefatory section giving specific test taking tips for each section, this book is extremely valuable and I might add long overdue. To be fully prepared, you will probably want to use this book and perhaps one or more of the LSAC's "10 Actual, Official LSAT Prep Tests." If you need extra help on the "games" section (and most people do), you may also wish to purchase the Powerscore LSAT Logic Games Bible, which alone among the non-official LSAT prep books usesactual LSAT questions obtained under license from the LSAC. It should be noted, however, that the LSAT Superprep book also includes strategy tips as well is very good explanations for the LSAT games section, making the once mandatory purchase of the Powerscore Bible optional for some test takers. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Study Guide to the LSAT
PowerScore's tips have been far more helpful to me than any of Kaplan's material.I always felt that timing was my biggest problem, but now that I know the LR problem types inside and out (thanks to this book!), limited timing is no longer a big issue for me.

The material is also presented very logically throughout the book.PowerScore organizes the problem types in such a way that the skills you need to solve, say, Parallel Reasoning problems build off of knowing how to solve Method of Aurgument problems, so the chapter on Parallel Reasoning follows Method of Argument. In Kaplan's books, they introduce what they call "Inference" questions as one of the last topics, whereas in PowerScore, they introduce the same problem type (dubbed "Must Be True") first--which makes a lot more sense.

The only downfall is that if you feel you only need help on one question type, you probably need to read an earlier chapter to get the most benefit. But, seriously, even if you don't think you need help on "easy" problem types like Weaken questions, I guarantee that PowerScore will teach you something about attacking those problems that you might have overlooked otherwise.

I would highly recommend this book!Your score will definitely improve.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Essential LSAT Prep
If you are preparing for the LSAT and have some semblance of self discipline, you must get this book. The book provides sensible strategies for attacking every possible type of logical reasoning question you will encounter on the LSAT, withoutexception. It is long, and requires some time to absorb its methods, but if you study this book closely and employ the techniques on a few practice tests, you will feel confident and comfortable during the test- and elated when you find your score!

For most students preparing for this test, the question comes down to "Should I take a course?" or "Should I study on my own?" I have a close friend who teaches the course at one of the major test prep centers, and I also studied for my SAT there. Here are some of the advantages to using the Bible:

Cost: You will save over a thousand dollars if you use the Bible versus a course.

Quality: The techniques in the Bible are truly optimal. They compare some of their techniques to those taught at Kaplan, Princeton Review, etc., and it's clear why theirs are superior. Also, you may be spending a lot of money at a test prep center, but there's a strong chance your teacher will be awful. As someone who went through the teacher training process at one of those centers I was appalled by the people who actually ended up in front of a class. Also, the sample questions in the Bible are all actual LSAT questions that have appeared in earlier tests. Powerscore pays a lot of money to license these questions, and it is definitely to your advantage. I have looked at simulated questions from some of the other prep centers/study guides and they are often very different from authentic questions.

Personal: The Bible lets you go at your own pace. If the material is easy you can breeze through it, if it's particularly challenging you can slow down and try to absorb it at a comfortable pace. In the classroom at one of these test prep centers you will often find the speed at which you get through material is dictated by the most vocal students in your class, whether they are incredibly thick headed or just trying to bump their 175 up to a 180.

My experience- On my first practice LSAT (no prior preparation) missed about 6 or 7 questions on each LR section. My first score was 157. Since completing the Bible I have consistently missed only 2 or 3 on the LR section and my last two practice LSATs were a 169 and a 171.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for studying LR for LSAT
The LSAT is a tough exam and the LR section was causing me headaches. I bought this book and began studying with the intent of working through the LR problems more quickly.
Before using this book i was working at about 9 to 10 wrong per LR section (2 per test)
When I took the LSAT I had 11 wrong total on the LR almost half as much as I was before

1-0 out of 5 stars Powerscore Methods are Severely Limited
I scored a 176 on the June 2007 LSAT. Despite what many people say about how great this book is, it is not a miracle maker. I found that this book actually decreased my ability to read the questions correctly - their methods are actually very time consuming and could be detrimental for your prep. Powerscore's marketing strategy is really to mock other prep company's materials, but they're not really different from other companies. I would recommend LSAC's OWN PREPRERATION MATERIAL - no one can make a prep better than the actual test makers themselves. If you have money, just buy LSAC's 3 LSATbooks that have explanations inthem. This is a waste of money and valuable time.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Must-Have for logical reasoning practice
I got this book and the PowerScore Logic Games Bible to self-practice for the LSAT.When it became clear that I wasn't motivated enough for self-study, I decided to take the TestMasters LSAT program, which drills LSAT questions in for 80 hours during 2 months. The good thing about the Logic Reasoning Bible is that, unlike test prep courses, it gives step by step explanations that you can go over again and again. It's more comprehensive than taking a class, where you're sitting for 4 hour blocks going over only 3-4 questions per hour. The Logic Reasoning Bible allows you to study at your own pace (recommended to study in blocks, chapter by chapter -- once you're interrupted, it's hard to go back without rereading everything).I used it in tandem with my TestMasters booklets (the two methods are pretty similar, so it's an easy conversion).I found that the LR Bible supplemented my class well, because it explained some concepts that were confusing to me, and gave some tips that weren't in my class.

The downside is that there aren't many practice questions, only 6-8 per question type (whereas taking an LSAT course usually gives you 5000 questions). If you're already taking a class, this could be a good way to refresh some concepts that you need help with.If this is your primary mode of study, buy the 10 LSAT books and PrepTests to get yourself more real questions. Also, it's imperative to study with real LSAT questions, and the LR Bible only has real LSAT questions in it.Of course, this is no breezy read, and using it as a study guide only suffices if you put the time in to study -- about 3 hrs/day two months before the test.Since the logical reasoning sections are 50% of the test, and arguably the hardest questions on the test, you benefit greatly from learning techniques to shave down the amount of time it takes you per question on the test.

However, PRACTICE IS KEY.No book is going to be a miracle if you don't put the time into studying.Logical reasoning is tough, and if it's not your strong spot, this book can break down some of the mental blocks you might have.Definitely better than the other books out there (I've also browsed Princeton Review, Kaplan, Kaplan LSAT 180). ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Go with Powerscore instead
Despite reading many reviews saying that Powerscore had the best materials available, I decided to start with the Princeton Review book. I've taken the GRE and the GMAT already, and Princeton Review study materials has served me well for both. After doing a few chapters of this book, I put in away and moved on to Powerscore.

I think that Powerscore offers superior strategies for tackling each section, but that's probably just a matter of personal choice.

I also appreciate the tone of the Powerscore books. It's hard to explain the difference, but Princeton Review's LSAT books have the same tone as their SAT books. They just seem a bit unprofessional.

But the one unquestionable reason to go with Powerscore is the real LSAT questions. I saw that mentioned in so many reviews when I was shopping for my prep books but never really understood how it could make much difference. Having practiced with real LSAT questions and Princeton Review questions, I can say without a doubt that the real questions are better. LSAT questions have to be reviewed thoroughly before being included in the test; they don't include questions that people could argue about. Accordingly, when I practiced with real LSAT questions, I always understood the reasoning... even if I missed the question and had to go back to reconsider. When I studied with Princeton Review, however, I frequently questioned their logic. Several times, I found myself moving on to the nest question thinking "I don't really buy it; let's hope the LSAT has better questions than that."

Don't bother second-guessing. Buy a book that uses real LSAT questions instead.

1-0 out of 5 stars AVOID--And By Their Own Advice
Imagine this was a stimulus on the LSAT--and I quote from CRACKING THE LSAT itself:

****

If you can't get your hands on some actual LSATs, our practice tests are the next best thing. As we said in Chapter 1, you should practice on real LSATs.

[Notice anything amiss?]

Don't be fooled by the sample questions in other books, which are only superficially similar to actual LSAT questions. We have constructed our practice test... [Trust us...]

****

My experience: real LSAT questions are better constructed, better thought-through and far better tested than imitations. To get the bona fide LSAT mindset, your mind has to be working real LSAT questions.

Hence, AVOID this LSAT prep book.

The POWERSCORE prep books have real LSAT questions and tests. (Apparently--unlike "other" books--they are willing to pay for this privilege.) Also, The LSAC publishes past LSAT exams.

I feel like I got my money's worth wth the POWERSCORE books. Feel I wasted my money (and time) on alternatives, including--unfortuantely--this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful
This is pretty standard if you're taking the test. The strategies that it lays out are clear and extremely helpful. If you buy one book for the test this should be it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Start
I thought this book was a good start for learning the LSAT.I think everybody's situation might be a little different, so I'll tell you a bit about mine and suggest some other materials.I'm a math/programming guy so I think I was already set up pretty well for the logic games and logical reasoning sections. On my first prep-test, however, I wasn't formally familiar with the terms the test was using.I wasn't sure exactly what constituted a main point, etc. This book, Cracking the LSAT, lays out in very simple terms everything you need to know to understand what the logical reasoning questions are asking for.It also gives you some simple strategies for finding the correct answer.Additionally, it's a very good primer on the logical games portion, and it gives you a foundation to work with for reading comprehension.

If you're aiming for a good score, another must have would be the old LSATs, published under the 'Official LSAT Preptest' title. You can buy them individually or in groups of 10 under the '10', '10 More', or 'Next 10', 'Actual, Official Preptests'.A decent study plan would include from 5-15 timed practice tests and a comparable amount of timed or untimed study of individual sections. You should also keep in mind that older tests are thought to have easier reading comprehension, harder games, and looser scales. So, if you're trying to gauge your test day performance then you are better off taking a more recent test. Also, as important as exposure to new material is, it is more important to review and understand the questions you got wrong.

If you feel like you can master more following this book, a great next step would be the PowerScore LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible and the Logic Games. These books, as a guide to practice, are generally considered to be the best on the market.

Good luck,
Joe

4-0 out of 5 stars A great starter book

1-0 out of 5 stars Fake questions, confusing explanations, smug attitude
This book is yet another reason to avoid Kaplan when preparing for the LSAT.The fake logic games questions, designed to mimic real ones, are unrealistic, confusing, and poorly conceived.I have done over 20 real LSAT PrepTests, and the ones in this Kaplan book are a cheap imitation that would not prepare a test taker in any valuable way.

Furthermore, their fake logical analysis section is equally weak, and worst of all, they take a smug, know-it-all attitude throughout the book, instead of just explaining the answers.

Stick with the PowerScore books, which really are the bibles of the LSAT prep: useful, with real LSAT questions, and very helpful explanations.

Do not spend your money on this book!Don't even bother taking it out of the library.

1-0 out of 5 stars The faux-LSAT questions in this book are not helpful.
After using the PowerScore books, which use genuine LSAT questions, it was difficult to use this book, whose questions are a poor imitation of those on the LSAT. Also unlike the PowerScore books, the explanations also do not make good use of diagrams. Only purchase this book if you've run out of LSAT material to practice with. Otherwise, avoid at all costs.

3-0 out of 5 stars LSAT Prep
Helpful, especially regarding the three LSAT tests included. The strategies are very general, unfortunately and don't focus exhaustively on the details. The explanations for each of the tests are good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not for beginers
Kaplan's LAST 180 contains the most difficult questions and answers that are explained well. However, this book is not for beginners, if your looking for something just to get started this book is probably not for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the only Kaplan book I would recommend...
I'm not a fan of Kaplan.Their LSAT books and technique are not that great.I would not recommend the Kaplan LSAT Comprehensive nor the Kaplan Logic Games.Instead, I would recommend Princeton Review's Cracking the LSAT instead of the former and Get Prepped's Ace the LSAT Logic Games in place of the latter. However, the Kaplan LSAT 180 is better its Princeton Review adversary, the LSAT Workout.

LSAT 180 provides detailed explanations and some advice for advanced LSAT problems, unlike the LSAT Workout.I'm not saying that I wouldn't recommend the LSAT Workout.Honestly, I think that the LSAT Workout has the most difficult yet accurate LSAT simulation questions out there. But, I think the LSAT Workout is for people who have already mastered the LSAT and are looking to polish up their score. In other words, they are scoring 165-170, but are trying to get closer to that 99th percentile.

The LSAT 180 is for people who have already done beginner test prep books and want some intermediate/advanced questions to work on.I really hated doing this book.I don't know if it was the presentation of the material or the way some of the questions were too out there. But, there explanations are a lot better than the LSAT Workout. But, I think after doing this book along with others (I've done Princeton Review's Cracking the LSAT and the LSAT Workout, along with the Kaplan Comprehensive Program and the Kaplan Logic Games), I understand how to do all types of LSAT questions and am a lot my accuracy has definitely improved. Now, I'm working on speed, and for that, I just take the PrepTests on real time conditions.

I also bought Barron's How to Prepare for the LSAT, Nova's Master the LSAT, and Get Prepped's Ace the LSAT Logic Games. The only one I would recommend is Ace the LSAT Logic GAmes.Barron's is too basic and doesn't really provide you with anything that you already didn't know or could have looked up on Wikipedia.Master the LSAT is also basic and provides a lot of explanations.I think its like the PowerScore Bibles in that it uses real LSAT questions and explains the best techniques to use.I think Master the LSAT is a good book if Cracking the LSAT didn't really get through to use.I would rank Master the LSAT 2nd place in the best beginner book for LSAT prep (Cracking the LSAT would be 1st.)

So, to sum it up, these are the books I would recommend along with the order:

1) Cracking the LSAT

Was the book sufficient for you to move from beginner to intermediate?
(If yes, go to 2.If not, do Master the LSAT, then go to 2.)

2) LSAT 180

Are you still having trouble with logic games?
(If no, go to 3.If yes, do Ace the LSAT Logic Games, then go to 3.)

3) LSAT Workout

4) PrepTests

I think that everyone has to find their own groove in this LSAT Prep thing.I like the Princeton Review. They provide a down to earth method that really works.Kaplan's method is ok.I think most people might find the methods almost exactly the same, so I guess it doesn't matter. But, Princeton Review better explains stuff; however, Kaplan has better questions.Honestly, I don't think it's fair to compare the two since both have a higher score guarantee, and they both will help you tremendously. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good Book.
I'm probably not the best reviewer for this product since I haven't yet taken the exam yet, and this is also the first book I ordered to study for it. I've read through it and I have to say that it is very easy to approach and that the writer has picked good examples to explain. This isn't the end-all-be-all, but I'm very happy I started with this book. Next up... the bibles. A great thing about this book over the older one is that it was updated to include the new reading questions (with two passages). The videos were only slightly better than useless! Get the cheaper version and put the savings toward old tests. I'd say best of luck, but you might hurt the scoring scale ;-) ... Read more

If you're just going to take a few official prep tests, then grab the latest ones availble such as this one. It'll be closer to the real deal than some of the older tests, but not that much different. However, you're best buy is one of the books that contains 10 prep tests instead of only 1.1 test = 8 bucks, 10 tests = ~20 bucks...you do the math.If you have the time to take multiple tests, then grab one of these:

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of practice tests
I have not yet taken the LSAT, I've actually gone on a different path, but I did purchase this book when I was considering Law School and the book has a lot of practice tests in it which are very helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Useful; note the difference in cover color
I've always used past practice exams as my primary study aids, from the SAT to AP to GRE.So I find these 10 exams (from Oct. 1999 to Oct. 2002) pretty useful.I plan to do the 2002+ exams after I'm done with these. The main reason I'm writing this, though, is to point out that my version (which I bought at the end of 2006) has a purple/red cover rather than the white/blue cover shown in the product image. After comparing the contents of the two, I'm pretty sure they're the same thing-- just in case anyone was wondering.

5-0 out of 5 stars No surprises
I did not much enjoy the time I spent with this book, but it's exactly what it claims to be.In the end, I decided to take a low-end test prep course instead of studying on my own, and I didn't need the book anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars Official Preptests...the way to go
Without taking these official tests, my score would have been much lower.Practice, practice, practice.By the time I'd reached the last few tests in this book, my score on each test in the book was the exact same as what I ended up with for my actual LSAT score.

5-0 out of 5 stars LSAT Preptests
Ten practice tests provided variety for scheduling intellectual infrastructure sessions for students preparing for the LSAT.Format of the texts and availability of answer keys made for ease of switching from section to section as students honed academic skills. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Actual, Official, Older(?)
I bought this book after using the LSAC's The Official LSAT SuperPrep and The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTest (Lsat Series). These older tests, though roughly identical in format, have very different questions from those found on newer tests.I began to notice the difference after having taken two tests with remarkably poor performance on the logic games.I then completed the most recent test I owned, The Official LSAT PrepTest 51 and earned a score more in line with what I had projected.
The simple LSAT prep advice of taking as many tests as possible holds true, but I strongly recommend using more current materials. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Kaplan LSAT Logic Games Workbook
I highly recommend this workbook as a beginning step for building a foundation for advancing points in the games section of the LSAT.However it needs to be followed up with a more advanced workbook such as Get Prepped's Logic Games or PowerScores Logic Games Bible.I found the setups to be very basic but it is a great book to start with if the LSAT games are giving you trouble.I have worked all of the games books because I love them!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not that great...
I read the good reviews but found this book to not be everything it was hyped up to be.Honestly, I thought it would be better, especially since Kaplan is supposed to be the best in test prep.First of all, the book has some overlap with the Kaplan 2007 Comprehensive Program.Secondly, I did not find any advice for diagramming or approaching the questions. The explanations were mediocre.I found Cracking the LSAT to have a better Games section than this whole book.In terms of practice, it was okay. However, I would recommend GetPrepped's Ace the LSAT Logic Games. That book has a lot more problems and shows better Diagrams than Kaplan did.I think this book was sold to make up for the poor quality of the Games section in the Kaplan Comprehensive Program. But, after completing both books, I would definitely recommend something else.I like the Princeton Review.I know it might not be mainstream, but they are a lot better.I also like their attitude better (I wasn't fond of Kaplan's tone when reading this book).I think doing all the preparation I can is necessary, so it's not like this book was time wasted. It's just that I wish I didn't send the money on this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
Great explanations for the different types of questions. Great advice on how to answer the questions. I also bought the Kaplan comprehensive review, which I did not like. So if you had a bad experience with that, don't let it scare you away from this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kaplan LSAT Logic Games Workbook Review
I bought the logic games workbook primarily for exercise purposes. It was quite helpful, although it lacked examples of some types of logic game questions. Overall, it served its purpose. The explanations are good and for beginners, it is an excellent resource.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful
I was an English major so about 75 percent of the LSAT was pretty easy for me(Reading comp and Logical Reasoning are pretty much the same thing). But I really was terrified of these mathematical looking games. This book has beeninvaluable to my preparation, and I recommend it to anyone who is Logic Game challenged. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
This book is EXACTLY what I needed. The explanations are written in a very clear and easily understood manner. This book is really what made the LSAT "click" for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the Wait
I actually pushed back my LSAT until after this book was published, and it was worth the wait. Without having PowerScore classes in my area, I've relied on the PowerScore bibles and real LSATs. They have all helped immensely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful!
I have read the PowerScore Logic Games Bible and the PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible and both were extremely helpful to me. I have been preparing for the upcoming June LSAT and I needed help increasing my score. With these books my score has already gone up 10 points! The 2004 LSATs Deconstructed was very helpful as well. It walked me through an entire LSAT with very clear and detailed explanations. I would highly recommend this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good introductory prep
I thought this was a nice intro prep book, but you will definitely want to buy the LSAT prep book with the actual tests to practice.I really like the simple tips, and the simple breakdown of how to approach the questions without saturating you with too much info.I think the best application is to start with this to get comfortable with how to approach the questions, and then practice using the real LSAT tests.I also appreciated the calming tone the author had.Instead of getting you all jacked up about how hard the test is and how much you have to study, she seemed a lot more practical.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too many typos
This book is wrought with typos. It makes me wonder:If there are so many problems I can already see, how many are there that I can't see (e.g. Questions unlike those you will see on the real LSAT,flawed reasoning, incomplete information, etc).Stay away...

4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful, but a more indepth prep is needed
This was the first test prep book I used.I just finished it over the weekend.I will certainly have to buy a more indepth book to continue my preparation. The logic games section has good tips, but the book and this section in particular, is just too short.

5-0 out of 5 stars great for an anxious test-taker
This book made reviewing for the LSAT easy. I suggest getting a few different LSAT prep books and also a bunch of real tests. Some books are better than others, and this one is a really good overall view of the test and strategies. I think this one and the Arco book are good. I also foudn NOVA's to be good.Kaplan and PR were waaaay too basic and was mostly annoying filler.

Well, i see lots of people have different ideas about books, so the best thing to do is to try out a bunch and see what works for you. I found this one really good in the AR section and RC sections. Also a good strategy for applying and getting into law schools in general. Two thumbs up.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This Book
I do not recommend this book. There are many errors in both the reasoning and answers to problems. You can't seriously study using a flawed textbook such as this. The explanations for Analytical Reasoning were very confusing and too brief. If you need a good LSAT prep book, I recommend the Princeton Review book. This book was very bad.It frustrated more than it helped. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Finally!
I've never been able to understand why there was no book out there that just focuses on LSAT reading comp. I mean, this section actually has more questions than the games. I've been studying for the LSAT for a few months now and always wished there was something that could help me in this section. So I was really happy when I discovered this book.

I like how they broke things down by logical structure instead of topic (why didn't anyone else think of this?) There is a good treatment of all the different passage types and question types, and a lot of examples, including dozens of real passages. The writing style is clear and doesn't dumb things down. I recommend getting the Examkrackers complete study package and some official tests, and that's all you need. ... Read more
