5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of practice leads to substantial score improvements
The best way for students to really learn effective test taking techniques and strategies is to do lots of practice. That's just what this book offers. With 10 complete SAT tests (the eleventh is a PSAT test), it contains more than enough practice test material for even the most dedicated student. Princeton Review has done a commendable job creating practice tests that closely mimic the actual SAT. Another useful feature is an explanation for every test question of why the correct answer is the best choice and what is wrong with the other choices.

If you only want to buy one SAT book, this isn't it - so no 5 star rating. As a supplemental workbook for a class or a book on test strategies and techniques, it is ideal. (Note: I sometimes teach and tutor for Princeton Review.)

1-0 out of 5 stars FAKE QUESTIONS
The practice tests in this book are NOT REAL. They are simulated. So who cares? Because the official SAT questions are DIFFERENT. This is like practicing mountain biking when you are going to go road biking.

Buy the Official SAT Study Guide, then go buy the Official SAT Study Guide Solutions Manual.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good SAT prep textbook
The practice exercises in this book cover a wide range of contents that are found in real SAT test. However, it does repeat many contents found in previous editions. The PSAT section doesn't seem to be necessary to be included in this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Useful Book
I do tutoring for SAT Math, and this book has really good practice tests. With so many tests in the same book, there is a lot of opportunity for practice!

3-0 out of 5 stars only 1 psat exam?
Why even include the PSAT in this book if there is only one exam,
Some people really don't take the national merit qualifying exam seriously geez.
the other tests are pretty comprehensive for SAT, but they tricked us
into buying this because I thought there would be more tests for the PSAT.

If you are studying for PSAT, national merit, perhaps you should just stick with the PSAT prep book and find more practice tests elsewhere, this book is more for SAT. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A father's opinion
I bought this book for my daughter and think it's excellent. There are lots of sample problems ranging from easy to difficult.Answers contain explanations which is what I really find helpful(although explanations are not always easy to understand).I haven't seen other books, but I don't feel like I need to look.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good assessment from what I can tell...
I haven't delved into it yet, but it looks good and complete and will definitely help when I have to re-take the SAT (I'm 28 friggin years old!) next month.*grumble*But the product was good and will serve me well I think.

4-0 out of 5 stars Real SATs? NOT!
The problem here is that these arePrinceton Review exams that are similar to the SATs, but not as well-written (nor as hard) as those prepared by the pros at ETS. Plus, the explanations for the verbal answers are not terribly edifying (the math answers are OK.) Princeton's own Cracking the SATs is a better book because its practice drills and tips are brilliant (Joe Blog, etc), even though its tests have the same problem. (Note, however, they are far superior to those of Kaplan and Barrons, which isn't saying much.) Recommendation: buy Princeton Review's Cracking the New SAT 2007, and get a free copy of a genuine SAT when you register for the SAT.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good preparation - by a math teacher
This is exactly what it says - 11 tests like the SATs with answers and some explanation for each question but no strategy part, and no instruction in the material. If you need a review book or a strategy book, look elswhere.

(the following is only for the math part of the book)

The SAT math section only requires geometry and intro algebra. They are tricky but primarily in unraveling the convoluted wording.

I got this for my son (a bit late I find - some of his class mates started in 7th grade). He is a good student and I was expecting he would zip through the math parts without a problem and we would focus on the verbal part.He started out doing terribly in math sections. There is no math in these questions he hasn't seen so the problem is understanding what the multi-step questions are really asking.Even I get confused by the wording sometimes - so practice, practice, practice because it doesn't matter how good you are at math if you get stumped by the wording.

If these are close to the actual test questions (and I gather they are) there is a lot of work to do to get used to the style of the questions. The explanations for each answer in the book are mostly adequate for self study but I needed to explain a few of them (maybe 1 in 10) so a few questions need some help from a competent adult.

As a HS math teacher I think the real problem in the math problems he got wrong (almost 1/2 of them) is to decipher the convoluted question involved.(If I gave these questions on a test every student would holler "trick question".)Their idea seems to be that you have to solve the problem through multiple steps each of which requires that you understand all the features of, for example, triangles or circles. So even though it is multiple choice you aren't going to be able to easily eliminate two or three answers and make a good guess. They are good questions but they take some getting used to.

I teach this stuff and am fairly good at it, even compared to other teachers, but I took the maximum time to get through most math sections (I got all of them right but you would expect that).

So - I highly recommend this book.Like playing piano or anything else the more you practice the better you'll get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but.......
This book is fantastic; however, I got confused about the book page number. The description says it has 944 pages, but it just has 924. And I don't like the last PSAT part. I think this book should only contain SAT practice tests only. And it wastes a lot of marginal room. This edition doesn't changed a little, if any. Princeton Review should improve a little when release a new edition, not just change the cover. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars FAKE QUESTIONS
The practice tests in this book are NOT REAL. They are simulated. So who cares? Because the official SAT questions are DIFFERENT. This is like practicing mountain biking when you are going to go road biking.

Buy the Official SAT Study Guide with REAL SAT QUESTIONS, then go buy the Official SAT Study Guide Solutions Manual.

1-0 out of 5 stars Get Collegeboard's SAT guidebook and online program instead. This book is disappointing.
It does serve practice for the SATs, but since I'm good in math, I didn't bother with the math sections.

The writing sections are pretty useful, since their difficulty is similar to those of the actual test.

The reading sections are totally disappointing. When I compare these reading passages and questions with the actual test, Kaplan is very very easy. Buy the Collegeboard's SAT study guide and the online program (DONT WORRY ABOUT COST! COLLEGE IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT. Worrying about the cost of this online program was my major mistake up to now. I took 3 SAT tests without subscribing for the program, and my scores aren't improving too well). I believe this method will help much more. Kaplan SAT was disappointing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed
Brought this book for my daughter in Aug, 2007.She, a straight-A junior taking 5 AP courses, complained many times that this book is full of errors, incomprehenive explanation, and inconsistant answer.I finally had a chance to sit down with her to go over one math test (math test #3).Surely, there are two mistakes in 47 very basic questions.I am sorry to give this book to my daughter and I shall return the book immediately.

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!!!
Math section of this book is full of incorrect answers which are not just typos but incorrect reasoning leading to the wrong answer. Very fustrating!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a worthwhile book to buy
I bought this book after I finished using both the College Board's "The Official SAT Study Guide" and the Princeton Review's "Cracking the SAT" and it has been quite a disappointment. The book is filled with typos, both in the questions themselves and in the explanations to the questions.I have found several math questions where the answer the book gives is incorrect and their reasoning is also incorrect. In addition, in some of the critical reading sections, there are repeat articles and questions from previous practice tests. These practice tests are easier than the actual SAT and in general are not very useful.I would suggest that anyone planning to study for the SAT should first buy the College Board's SAT prep book and then buy the Princeton Review's practice tests if they want more practice. The Kaplan book should only be purchased as a last resort if you have already used both the College Board and Princeton Review books. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars SAT book
I've looked over this book in detail and it is great. The best part is the practice tests.

The only problem I have with it isn't the book itself - it's the teen who I bought the book for 6 months ago & is taking the SATs in 2 months. He hasn't even cracked it.I think if there was an online Official SAT study guide - or one made for the xBox - I'd have better luck getting him to look at it.He is overwhelmed by this enormous book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bargain
This is a great price for this book which all the juniors taking the SAT are encouraged to buy.Our local stores charge one and a half times as much.Online shopping is the way to go!We ordered it at 5:30pm and it still arrived the next day!

5-0 out of 5 stars my opinion
Excellent product! A well-organized book which is read in a pleasant way. It covers every aspect of the SAT Math 2 Subject Test and in a normal difficulty. I liked the structure of each chapter with diagnostic question, review of basic concepts, quizzes and summary of formulas.

By studying from this book and by checking on some official Collegeboard tests, I scored 800!

5-0 out of 5 stars A good prep book for Math 2c
I used the 2006-2007 version of this book to prepare for the SAT 2 math level 2. It gave me a comprehensive review of all the topics on the test. I really liked how they provided a summary table at the end of each chapter that summarized what was important on each unit.

To give you some numbers, my practice test scores were between 750~770. On the real thing, I ended up getting a 790. It proves that kaplan practice tests are a tiny bit harder than the actual test. So if you are looking for a good sat 2 math level 2 prep book, kaplan is a good, reasonable choice.

Although I have never used it, I also recommend princeton review's book. My friend, who used that book, took the test with me on the same date and came out with an 800. Considering the fact that he struggled in his math classes while I did not, I would say princeton review is also an excellent choice.

I do not recommend Barrons and Meilani's 15 "realistic" practice tests. Although they both boast how "realistic" their tests are, I found the barrons book replete with garbage you will not need to know for the test and meilani's test questions too hard. Only use these books when you think you really know what's on Kaplan's or Princeton Review's book.

I also strongly recommend you to take the test "after" you finish pre-calculus. I was doing well in my pre-calc class last year and so I decided to take the test on may, when we had still a bit more material to cover. Although it is a terrific score for a sophomore, considering that most people take the test during their junior or senior year, I could have done better if I had learned all my pre-calculus materials. This proves that it is not enough to just know what is in the book. You actually need to engage with all sorts of problems in your pre-calc class. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this book!!!!!!!
The Rocket Review Revolution is a wonderful book, which helped me get a great score on the SAT. Parts 1 and 2 - Basic Tutorials and Advanced Tutorials - include very helpful strategies for all three sections of the SAT. In Part 3 (the SAT Writing Test), I learned how to manage my time. This section also includes "100 words that really impress SAT graders," a list of common misspelled words, and specific tips for all parts of the essay. As for the multiple choice part of the Writing test, I learned about the errors most often tested. The critical reading section discusses exactly how to handle both short and long reading passages as well as sentence completions. The book also includes a list of the most commonly used SAT words - I memorized all of these words and received an 800 on the critical reading section. Finally, the math section is also well done - I got an 800! Many problems are interspersed throughout this section, which helped test my understanding. Furthermore, "the Best* Practice SAT Ever Created (*Most Instructive)" is very helpful. I definitely recommend buying the Rocket Review Revolution - your score on the SAT will certainly improve!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gr8 book
I'll tell you why ppl talk about the author himself in the review. You read it, and see for yourself. He provides an entertaining way for students to learn, incorporating jokes, etc.WHy don't you read the book before you make a stupid review

1-0 out of 5 stars We don't need no self-congratulation
It is strange that so many Amazon reviews for this author's books contain the phrase "the author, Adam Robinson."Who would say that but the author himself? And who begins a book with the statement "This is the greatest SAT book ever written?"Creepy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A book that I trust very much
I took the SAT's my junior year in High School. When I was looking to find books to help me before this I was semi lost. Everyone is told to buy the big blue book from the company that administers the SAT. I did this, however despite being great for having old tests to practice with there were not any other resources. I was in Barnes and Noble looking for test prep books because I was always anti-tutoring; I felt that it never really went any where you need to know how to take the test, plan your time, and know what to expect. I had never heard of the Rocket Review prior to this time, however I did approach one of the sales reps who claimed that she did know a thing or two about SAT test prep books. She had nothing bad to say about this book, she said that she recommends buying the blue books as did everyone else, but she also said that Robinson was the man who perfected the Joe Blogs tool. I shook my head as if I knew what that meant, and then she showed it to me in the Princeton Review prep book.

I am not here to knock any authors or books, but looking through the Princeton Review guide I did not see much help. I decided to take this book on, as my main source of preparation. The best part about this book, was reading the comments, and the way the book went around choosing a correct answer, and planning my time. I will not say that I would read this book for fun, however as a guide for the SAT, it is the best tool I could have found, and I have recommended this book to everyone I know.

It is hands down, the reason why I was so succesful with the best, it does not claim to give you 300 points for reading the book, and its not a heavy read at all. But using this guide as a resource can only help, and it helps a lot.

So if you are a parent, or a student. Great book, I have nothing but good things to say.

Age 18, University of Southern California.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
My 7th grader reviewed this book for about two months before he took the SAT for the talented youth programs. He did extremely well, far better than most seniors at even top rated schools. This review book makes sense.By email, the author even answered a specific question my son had. Taking the SAT is a bit like a game, if you know the tricks, you can do well. This books makes the process of learning the concepts clear.Of course you have to spend time with the book and do parts of the Real SAT practice tests to utilize the concepts from the rocket review book. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars The SAT book that makes you smile
Out of the numerous SAT books I tried, this was the only book that truly made a difference.

The strategies in this book are great. Their formula for the essay is simple and effective. The math is explained in detail that is very understandable, especially if you are not math smart. But their strategy for the Critical Reading was what really stood out to me. So simple and yet so very effective. I personally had a tremendous score increase in this section, simply by following this book's strategies and taking multiple practice exams.

And perhaps the best thing about this book is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. It cracks a few jokes and pokes fun at the exam, a very important reminder that this test is only a test and does not determine the rest of your life. Its lighthearted approach will make it easier for the reader to relax and simply do the best that they can.

The only issue is that this book comes with only three practice exams. I reccommend Barron's if you feel the need to practice more. Their exams are a bit harder than the real thing, which makes it easier when you take the actual exam. This was the book I used: How to Prepare for the SAT: 2007 (Barron's How to Prepare for the Sat I (Book Only))

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!
Great Book! Did not take any classes and did great the first time i took the SATs. The book explains every excruciating detail, and doubles as a homework helper. Personally a math hater, this book explained every detail which made no sense whatsoever!
If you dont want to take any classes, or are taking the test over again, this book is a MUST!
Good Luck

5-0 out of 5 stars A Helpful book
The authors of this book have never written an SAT book before, and yet are able to make a book as wonderful as this one. What I like about this book is that they explain everything step-by-step. They also have specific strategies for beating every type of question on the SAT. What this book has that other SAT books don't is glossy, tabbed pages that mark the beginning on a section. The glossy, tabbed pages have everything taught in the section on it for quick reference- it's like Sparkcharts for the SAT Section.

Additionally, the Authors always have a crack of humor here and there, and they genuinely sympathise with the student taking the SAT, and it looks like they sincereley want to help.

Just because they don't have a yearly update to it doesn't mean its obsolete? Far from it! I think the yearly update thing that companies like the Princeton Review do are a marketing gimmick. Now you can buy this at a steal.

I don't have any cons for this book. It's a well thoughtout, helpful book.

5-0 out of 5 stars GET THIS BOOK!
I just took the SAT Math 1 on Saturday and this book helped me so much! I had about 3 other review book and this one was by far the best.If your taking a subject test I recommend to get two different reviews because some have info that others lack.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy preparation
Pretty good and straightforward review to prepare you for the SAT II Math. I started using this as a study guide a week before the test, and it helped very much. I'm currently taking Calculus, so Precal (most of Level 2 Math) and other subjects were forgotten. This book helped me remember and review many mathematical concepts, such as the arithmetic/geometric sequences, sum of sequences, and some handy equations.

If you're taking the Math SAT, it's assumed that you're almost or already done with precalculus classes. This book is meant as a REVIEW, to refresh your memories on concepts you have already learned.

There are some mistakes in the book, but overall, they're negligible.

I took Math Level 2 and the practice test questions in this book are very similar to the actual SAT test questions. The Math Level 1 practice tests problems are good for practice.

I definitely recommend this book.If you aren't a procrastinator like me (who started studying 1 week before), I also recommend the Baron's review too. That review book is a lot harder and detailed, but if you start studying a month before the actual test, Baron's the way to go.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too many errors for a 20 dollar book.
I'm giving this book two stars because the actual review material was amazing, and really helped me understand math.

However, this book has many errors. Most of the errors I remember were in the chapter with the answers to the drills and practice questions in tables. For example, for a couple of tables the page numbers the tables say they refer to are off. Another example, theres one spot where the answer in the answer column contradicts the answer the explanation says is correct. These kind of things drive me insane, and simply should not be in a book that costs twenty dollars. These errors are fixed by simple, simple proofreading.

I also bought Princeton Review's Chemistry subject test guide, and because of that other book I will never buy anything from this company again.

5-0 out of 5 stars How did they make math fun???
This prep book is amazing.I've tried all the other companies and Princeton Review writes as though the people who are purchasing the book do in fact need help in math.I'm taking several subject tests and by far studying for math is more fun than for other subjects because of the ease of reading this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Accurate review book
I took the math IIC test earlier today and the Princeton Review book was on target. The practice tests were very similar in difficulty level to the actual test itself, and the book's lessons and suggestions were very helpful as well as readable.
I also own the Barrons review book, and while that was good to practice the toughest questions, it is really nothing like the test itself. So I recommend the Princeton Review over the Barrons to anyone looking for a sufficient review of the material and accurate practice for the exam. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Kapan Math Worked Best
We tried and reviewed all the workbooks:Grubers, McGraw, Princeton, Barron. My two teenagers thought that Kaplan did the best job of preparing for the SAT.

However the practice tests in the book are not exactly like the real SAT. For that you need the Official SAT Study Guide.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad....
It's got everything you need to know, and my scores did increase.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good help for any struggling Math student
This book helped me achieve a higher score after I went through half the workbook. I increased my math score from a 610 to 700 in 3 weeks. This book does do wonders. However, some of the explainations of the problems and how to work them are vauge and really don't give you a sense on how to apply them to other problems with the same underlying concept. In conjunction with this book, I would have to recommend Kaplan's SAT 1600 and Kaplan's SAT II Math IC for mastery of harder questions and for more review.

2-0 out of 5 stars Vague Explanations
This book contains very good practice material but the explanations to the answer choices are very vague and difficult to understand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this book!
I would definately recommend that you buy this book. The practice that it gave me was extremely helpful, as well as the "SAT Math in a Nutshell" section. The format was easy to follow and true to the SAT, giving me plenty of practice, and help where I needed it.It improved my math SAT score 50 points - from 630 to 680.And I only did about half of the book!Imagine if I had worked through the whole thing. It's not hard, however - the book is designed so that you only tackle one (approximately) 30-minute section at a time.Just remember - for best results, make sure that you start using this book 3 weeks to a month ahead of time.

The verbal workbook helped me even more, raising my score 100 points, from 660 to 760.

Kaplan's math workbook is definately worthwhile. It WILL improve your scores! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My BEST Books for College Students...

5-0 out of 5 stars Verges on perfect
I bought over half a dozen books on test prep, and this one is by a huge margin the best of them. It is engaging, and the tone of it is truly remarkable. It feels like you are talking to a highly knowledgeable friend, while imparting more information and knowledge than all the others I bought put together. I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone planning on taking the SAT, or for that matter anyone who finds themselves in school period. The strategies for test-taking, while obviously best suited to the SAT, are very much applicable in every other test taking situation which involves multiple choice.

Highly insightful, highly engaging, and actually entertaining.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good gift for grandchildren preparing for the SAT
This is a great help for my grandchild preparing to take the SAT test.Inexpensive and can only improve the results.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful for SAT
This book is definitely worth reading and studying. Princeton Review challenges College Board's party line that there are only minimal benefits (in the range of 50 points improvement for CR and for Math) from pre-test prepping and coaching for the SAT, and that there is no "trick" to doing well on the SAT because it is essentially an aptitude test that measures verbal and mathematical skills acquired over a long period of time. While not denying the benefit of basic skills acquired through conscientious schoolwork over time, Princeton Review maintains that is not the only way to improve your score, possibly dramatically. By studying patterns in the ETS answer choices and question sequences, Princeton Review has come up with what it calls the Joe Blog approach, which is a very clever strategy for making educated guesses when you are not 100% sure of an answer to a multiple-choice question. At its core, Joe Blog says that on easier questions (the earlier questions in a section), go for the obvious answer that Joe Blog (a hypothetical Joe-Average) would guess; on the harder ones (the later questions in a section), avoid the "obvious answers, because they are "tricks" to fool Joe Blog, who will jump on superficially correct, but profoundly wrong answers. Beyond the Joe Blog approach, the Princeton Review writers do provide excellent practice exercises on basic reading and mathematical content. They seem to have studied the content of the test better than most authors. If there is one flaw, it is that the explanations to the practice questions don't always explain the correct answer very well. However, along with the "official" books and online study resources put out by the College Board, using this book from Princeton Review will help you do the best you can -- -- which what test taking process is and should be all about. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Misleading Title--Has not been updated since 1996!
I bought this partially because the cover said "New SAT" on it only to find out that a) the last time this book was updated was 1996 and b) it still has a section on quantitative comparisons.
It has NOT been revised for the New SAT. Having said that it does have a few shortcuts that seem worthwhile to know but I would not recommend having a student read it cover to cover. It's a shame that haven't updated the book because the concept of teaching shortcuts is worthwhile.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good...still has QC stuff
Great book for kids without a lot of number sense.Kids who are very good at math will probably find most of these shortcuts intuitive. It also contains an enormous amount of material on the quantitative comparisons- which have been removed from both the PSAT and the SAT.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mostly Common Sense!
I purchased this book to help me prepare for the SAT I. I have always been good in school math classes, but the SAT I promotes speed and guessing over meticulous work, so I decided to give this book a try, as I was constantly running out of time on practice exams. Much to my dismay, most of the "shortcuts" found in this book are common sense to most 11th graders, and nearly anyone who has taken elementary high school math.I did not find any of the shortcuts to be helpful.

If you are a 500-550 math student, then this may be the book for you. For anyone aiming for a 650-700 or higher, this book is worthless. Nearly all of the shortcuts found in this book are also found in any decent SAT prep book, such as Barron's How to Prepare for the SAT I. Barron's provides more tactics, more (and better) practice problems, and costs about the same.

If you think there are any shortcuts in this book that are worth the price, you will be severely dissapointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is a winner!
To help my nephew prepare for the SAT, I bought several products: Math Shortcuts to Ace the SAT by Achievement Publishing, Cracking the SAT by Princeton Review, Kaplan's SAT Online training program (by far, the most expensive), and last-year's Kaplan SAT CD software. The best products by far were Cracking the SAT (Princeton Review) and Math Shortcuts to Ace the SAT.

Math Shortcuts to Ace the SAT is a short, quick read of 34 tips with related examples. (By the way, don't take the title LITERALLY. You probably won't "ace" the SAT. It's a common practice to tout a book by giving it an ambitious title.)

I didn't care for Kaplan's math format at all. Cracking the SAT (Princeton Review) was easier to understand and gave clearer tips to crack the hard problems, but Math Shortcuts... was easiest of all to learn. It's barely 100 pages, far less intimidating than the other books. I was able to read it and do all the examples in two evening sessions.

I took a sample SAT myself and scored in the low to mid 600s in math and verbal, but I'd didn't have a clue how to solve some of the math questions. (By the way, "Cracking the SAT" (Princeton Review) explains why the harder questions are things you'll never see in high school math classes.) After reading Math Shortcuts, I retested on the last five of twenty-five questions on two sample math sections to see how I improved.

As you know, the last questions are always the hardest. On these 10 hardest questions, before reading Math Shortcuts, I got 3 correct, 3 wrong, and 4 that I didn't attempt. After reading Math Shortcuts, I got 10 correct. I doubt that I could get a perfect score consistently, but the book obviously helped me. Since there are three math sections (not just two), my math score would probably have improved by over 100 points. (However, I took a lot of math in college and use it at work, so my results might not reflect that of the typical high school student.)

My nephew confirmed that he liked Math Shortcuts to Ace the Sat best of all. After studying the book, he took a sample SAT and increased his math score 90 points.

He found Kaplan's SAT online to be the least useful of all.

In summary, I'd highly recommend Math Shortcuts to Ace the SAT by Achievement Publishing to improve SAT math scores. For verbal and overall study, I'd recommend Cracking the SAT by Princeton Review. It does a good job of explaining how and when to guess and how the SAT is scored. Its explanations of how crack analogies was clearer than Kaplan. Its grouping of common SAT vocabulary words into common categories was far superior to Kaplain's memorization approach.

One final warning to parents. Don't expect your kids to do well on the SAT because they are good students. The SAT doesn't measure that. Get them some good study resources a few months before the test; otherwise, your student will be handicapped when he/she takes the SAT compared to students who have used good resources.

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible book
This book offered 34 "shortcuts," most of which are common sense. After reading this book, I took a practice test, only to find that it improved my score by 20 points (from 670-690). If you are scoring around a 500 or a 600 in the math section, then this book is for you, It my boost you score by a hundred points. But otherwise, this book will not help you. It certainly does not help the reader to "ace" the Math section (Waste of time and money). I reccomend some intensive preperation books such as Barrons. ... Read more
