Product Description
Customer satisfaction and loyalty are becoming increasingly important to most organisations since the financial benefits from improving them have been well documented. This book presents a thorough examination of how to use research to understand customer satisfaction and loyalty. It takes the reader step-by-step through the process of designing and conducting a survey to generate accurate measures of customer satisfaction and loyalty. The research process is explained in detail, including questionnaire design, analysis and reporting, but the book also covers other elements of an effective customer satisfaction process. These include project planning, communicating with customers before, during and after the survey, as well as providing internal feedback and taking effective action to address issues raised by the survey. There is also comprehensive coverage of loyalty measurement methodologies as well as the satisfaction-profit chain and associated modelling and forecasting techniques. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A sound handbook
A simply written and thorough manual covering the rationale for and design of research into customer loyalty and satisfaction. It is written for the researcher rather than for the user of research. The early chapters establish the link between customer behaviour, customer satisfaction, loyalty and profit. The rest of the book works through exploratory and detailed research, PR, forecasting and related topics. ... Read more

Product Description

This novel about fathers and sons, hope and redemption, the author of Time After Time brilliantly evokes cultural icons in a thriller that captures the essence of its famous protagonists in a poignant, compelling drama that just might have been true.

Cuba, 1957: Ernest Hemingway, long a resident of Cuba, is past his prime, feeling old, and fighting the twin problems of liver disease and writer’s block. Then he meets Fidel Castro, who, in the Sierra Maestra mountains, is building a growing force of idealistic young guerrillas, determined to overthrow the corrupt, bloated regime of Generalissimo Fulgencio Batista. After Castro wins his revolution and takes power, he and Hemingway grow to respect and admire each other, and Hemingway helps Castro heal his relationship with his estranged son Fidelito, showing the boy how to throw a curve ball, something that eluded his father and kept him from pitching in the major leagues.

Like Time After Time, this is a rousing novel that brings a famous author to vivid life in a great story of a memorable time.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Soul
"Modern medicine seeks to heal and prolong life and to measure success in years of life added, but the influence of a short life can be profound. It is not the years in your life but the life in your years that is the proper measure." ~ Elman Frantz, M.D.

Jim Alexander chose to honor his daughter by writing a beautiful book filled with memories of her life. He speaks of Lindsey as a girl who wore rose tinted glasses and looked at the world differently, with a sense of joy. She competed in Special Olympics and enjoyed cooking, riding in her dad's Ford Explorer to get dinner while listening to a favorite radio show.

"If people could just wear those Lindsey glasses for a while, then they would see the positive things in life instead of only the negative." ~ pg. 12

This is a heartwarming account of young girl who made the world a better place all while struggling against the odds with serious heart defects and Down syndrome.

"Riding with Miss Lindsey" is a story of a beautiful soul who inspired everyone she met with her joy and love. Her courage is an inspiration and her life story will be of interest to anyone who has a child with special needs.

A lighthearted companion to the best-reviewed film of the year—a pocket-sized illustrated guide to the locations and wines featured in Sideways including maps, winery listings, tips for drinking wine, and Oscar®-winning dialogue.

Yesterday, you didn't know Pinot Noir from film noir.

Now, after seeing the marvelous movie Sideways, you are living the life uncorked, and this is the perfect little book to celebrate your own sideways journey. Inside you will find:

  • Wine recommendations, tips for tasting wine, and a list of bottles featured in the film
  • Places and wineries to visit in the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County that were featured in the movie
  • Excerpts from the Oscar®-winning screenplay

This hilarious and useful guide is fully illustrated in color with movie stills, location stills, and delightful drawings by artist Robert Neubecker, who created the film's poster.

Originally created as a specialty item for wineries and tourist sites, The Sideways Guide to Wine and Life has been featured widely in articles (USA Today, The New York Times, and Wine Spectator) about the Sideways phenomenon and the surge in Pinot Noir's popularity across the country. 3-0 out of 5 stars Sideways Guide
A very thin book on the movie locations. Didn't provide too much info that you couldn't obtain from the movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun booklet for "Sideways" fans
If you are a fan of the movie "Sideways" then this is a fun booklet to look into especially if you are planning to be in the area where the movie was filmed.I enjoyed reading it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth Even $6.99
There is nothing really wrong with this guide, except that it's a waste of money, even the $6.99 it cost to buy.If you've read the book or seen the movie, or both, then there is really nothing in this guide that will be useful. There is only one reason that this guide exists, and that is take another few bucks out of the pockets of Sideways fans.I should have paid attention to the other reviews that are saying the same thing I am.From this reader/reviewer's standpoint, there is no good reason for this guide to have been published.

3-0 out of 5 stars A mild vintage...
According to the introduction, "The Sideways Guide to Wine and Life" is meant to be a "celebration" of the movie, the novel, and wine country. If so, since the booklet is about an eighth of an inch thick and around the size of a CD case, it's a short and sweet one.

Those expecting a compilation of interesting trivia about "Sideways," along with details about wine and how it relates to life, will be disappointed.Much of the booklet consists of dialogue from the movie, various stills, and illustrations by the guy who did the poster. There are also some wine-related character quotes from the novel and the screenplay. The most interesting parts were a crude map of Miles and Jack's odyssey through the Santa Ynez Valley (including the addresses, websites, and phone numbers of their stops), a list of wines from the film, and some basic tongue-in-cheek wine tips.

This would be a nice little stocking stuffer for the wine lover and "Sideways" fan in your life. But don't expect transcendence. If you liked the movie and had to choose between this and the novel, then get the novel. It will be much more quaffable. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
First off, I naively didn't realize that this was a graphical novel.Had I known, I would have avoided the book. In general I dislike most of the "art" that comes out of the Warhammer workshop and this book is no exception.
The individual frames are terribly cluttered - maybe this works better in a large format book (the version of Lone Wolves that I've read was 8 ½ x 11 and the drawing seemed much cleaner). There is just way to much ink on each page.
The artists really fail to capture a sense of movement or dynamic environments - whole action sequences are like confused, blurry still shots.Individual characters are indistinct, sometimes leading to "where's waldo" type searches to find distinguishing characteristics. While 40K novels often describe the streamlined, clean features of the main and secondary characters, nearly all drawn here are pockmarked parodies of human form, studded with all manner of augmentations.
But its not just the drawing that annoys. The story is paper thin, with no drama, no development, and, incredibly, no sense of conflict! Character motivations are cheep imitations of generic stereotypes. The rabid Inquisitor, the steadfast loyal marines, the degenerate, lazy governor... oh yes, don't forget the age old rivalry between two of the marines that are forced to work together.Clichés can work in the 40K universe - just take a look into the Rangnar / Space Wolf series - the clichés are obvious through out, but it works there... here it is nothing more than filler.
Save your $$ and try another 40k novel.... You'd be hard pressed to find worse than this.

Product Description
Nearly five centuries ago, pirates took the life of merchant ship captain Christopher Standish. In the heat of the battle aboard the ship, Standish's son was knocked overboard to wash ashore on a remote beach. After stumbling upon the body of his father's killer, young Standish swore an oath on the murderer's skull to devote his life, and the lives of his sons and their sons, to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty and injustice. To the outside world, this man, seemingly immortal, has always worn the mask. As the legend grew, it transcended the life of any one mortal. And that legend became The Phantom! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars the phantom chronicals
i have always enjoyed lee falks hero the phantom. it is nice to see many writers views on this character. there are 17 short stories and i enjoyed every one of them. it is good to see even though lee falk is no longer with us,his hero is still kept alive. thank you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Phantom adventures
The reason I bought this book is because I've long been a fan of the Phantom via its comic strip even since I could remember. I have to admit that I've been hooked to the Phantom as far as I know, and couldn't get enough of him! Oh, WOW!! I also hope to obtain more novels of the 'Ghost Who Walks'!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Phantom Prose Rocks!

As a dyed in the (purple) wool Phantom fan, any collection of NEW Phantom prose is welcome. The quality of the 17 stories easily matches the comic book series published by Moonstone.

With a forward by Valerie Falk, contributions from Phantom scholars Ed Rhoades (consultant/artist/author), Will Murray (Doc Savage/Shadow) and accomplished authors David Michelinie, Mike Bullock, , C J Henderson, Ron Fortier, and Craig Shaw Gardner, the variety is outstanding.Disney artist extraordinaire Ruben Procopio's art is a good addition to the tales.

It's hard to pick out a favorite, but many capture the spirit of the Phantom very succinctly.

Can't wait for the 2nd volume.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lee Falk would be proud.
These stories are bringing The Phantom back to life and doing it very well. There is one story I found to be a long stretch, but I'm not reviewing stories, but a volume of stories. In this volume the Deep Woods call, The Ghost Who Walks remains undying, justice prevails over the darkness of the world, and even when The Phantom seems helpless, he is just about ready to make his next move. A must for any Phantom fan! Quoth the Raven... ... Read more
