From the supplier: Writer Ernest Hemingway was engaged in a dispute for several years with his mentor Sherwood Anderson. Hemingway had, at the time, only just emerged as a recognized writer with his novel 'The Sun Also Rises.' Both authors fictionalized the affair in short stories that used the sport of boxing as a metaphor for their rivalry. Hemingway's 'The Killers' portrayed a young challenger who defeated an established champion, while Anderson's 'The Fight' shows a champion who learns to recognize that all men are doomed to childish expressions of aggression.

Although my dragonfly stories are fiction, much of the inspiration comes from my uncanny connection with dragonflies, including life’s experiences with them. Dragonfly means “change.” This fits perfect in correlation to my life. I Spy a Dragonfly is the first book in my series of dragonfly stories that will lead to many interesting adventures. ... "Long Branch, one of America''s most famous watering-places, in midsummer, its softly-wooded hills dotted here and there with picturesque frame villas of dazzling white, and below the purple Atlantic sweeping in restlessly on to the New Jersey shore. The sultry day has been one of summer storm, and the waves are tipped still with crests of snowy foam, though now the sun is sinking peacefully to rest amid banks of cloud, aflame with rose and violet and gold. Product Description

Volume I: Pre-1492 to 1877

For one and two-semester, freshman/sophomore-level survey courses in U.S. History.

Get the book that gets your students. The authors of The American Journey get your students with the best storyline, the best pedagogy, the best maps, the best in-text documents and the most inspiring student-oriented material available in a U.S. History text. Written in a clear, engaging style with a straightforward chronological organization, The American Journey motivates students to learn more about the key features of American political, social, and economic history. Prominent coverage is given to the West and the South, and the text highlights the importance of religion in American history.

The path that led the authors to The American Journey began in the classroom with their students. The goal of this text is to make American history accessible to students. The key to that goal–the core of the book–is a strong clear narrative.  American history is a compelling story and the authors tell it in an engaging, forthright way, while providing students with an abundance of tools to help them absorb that story and put it into context. This text combines political and social history, to fit the experiences of particular groups into the broader perspective of the American past, and to give voice to minor and major players alike in the story this text tells.

I had to buy this for a class so I wasn't really excited about it. As far as history text books go it's rather good.

Product Description
Women of Grace Study Series Women excerpt a powerful influence in the home, the workplace, in the public square, in family faith formation, and in parish involvement. They must be grounded in their own faith so that they can heed and respond to Vatican II's call to "aid humanity in not falling". Johnnette Benkovic, host of The Abundant Life on EWTN, has developed this small-group study program to catechize all women so they can heed God's special call. It is faithful to the Magesterium, and has received the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. This study is based on Johnette's book, Full of Grace, and is infused with Sacred Scripture, magesterial teaching, Church doctrine, and the Catechism. Women will grow in knowledge of their faith, deepen their prayer life, meet a variety of women saints, and come to see the Blessed Virgin Mary as their exemplar. This study will teach all women to embrace their gift of authentic femininity and their dignity as daughters of God. The lectures are all recorded by Johnnette Benkovic on DVD or VHS tape. This life-changing program can help catechise all women, and is an excellent addition to any Adult Faith program! ... Read more
