Product Description
Pamela Anderson's life is the stuff of fairy tales and centerfolds. A champagne blonde who was discovered by a beer company, she moved from model to Playmate, from actress to star...and now she can add New York Times bestselling author to her resumé. Star is a breathless romp through tinseltown and tabloids. An insider's look at the world of inflated egos and inflated bodies,Ms. Anderson's novel goes beyond the air kisses and velvet ropes to show what really happens when A-list meets D-cup, when small-town girl gets all glittered up and becomes a star.

Amazon.com Review
Who knew? Pamela Anderson's debut novel Star is funny, sexy, and utterly compelling--a must read for chick lit fans, subscribers to US Weekly, and anyone with an ounce of curiosity about Hollywood. Still not convinced? Here are three reasons to read Star: it offers a gossipy glimpse into the extravagant lives of the rich and shameless; it’s funny--filled with laugh-out-loud memorable moments; and most surprising, it’s got a lot of heart--don't be surprised if you find yourself falling for this sweet, naïve, and lovable heroine.

Anyone remotely familiar with Anderson's life will recognize the playfully disguised true story behind Star Wood Leigh's tale--how a tight t-shirt and a football game led to her appearance in Mann Magazine, an accidental audition landed her a spot on the home improvement send-up Hammer Time, and a show called Lifeguards, Inc confirmed her arrival on the Hollywood scene. Anderson’s book is delightful--a playful blend of fact and fiction that’s a treat to read. The sex kitten with a heart of gold may be a familiar story, but Star offers what even the best chick lit and romance novels cannot--authenticity. Star is a novelization of Pamela Anderson’s life, and while it’s debatable what’s fact and what’s fiction (you'll never look at the Hollywood sign the same way again), the point is that it all could have happened to her. Star ends with a bit of a romantic cliffhanger, but anxious readers shouldn't fret--Anderson is hard at work on Star’s sequel, a "great exciting romance" featuring the face-licking, impish Jimi Deed. --Daphne Durham ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An EXELLENT read
This book was suprisingly great. ive been a fan of pam's for a while, and i was very impressed by this book. while its not a literary masterpiece, its funny, witty, sexy, and overall entertaining.(:

1-0 out of 5 stars I give "Star"...1 star
Like many of the other reviews I've read on this page, I also had high expectations when reading about the fabulous lifestyle of Pamela Anderson and how she made her mark in Hollywood. But unfortunately, like many of the other reviews I read, I was extremely disappointed. I'll skip the minor details, but one of the main (and many) flaws I found with this read was the character herself! I hardly found her lovable (try, ditsy), I certainly didn't find her innocent (Bentley, Hollywood sign, Castle grounds-need I say more?) and she apparently made her mark based on luck, hardly brains. Obviously if you can hardly stand the heroine you're not going to enjoy reading about her... That aside, I also found the writing style seemed to make a lot of mistakes that just couldn't be overlooked.. I'll finish up by saying I wasn't disappointed to put it down when it was finished (I could even go with 'relieved') and I didn't think twice about skipping the look into "Starstruck." I would not recommend this book to anybody who didn't deserve it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Then 'Atlas Shrugged'
Pamela Anderson is a riveting literary genius with talent and gobs of spunk to boot. Aside from oozing Silicone and raw sexual energy, her prose crackles like cottage cheese on an open flame at a Saturnalia celebration. Pamela Anderson has definitely proved herself to be a giant in the eyes of the writing community, she certainly has topped herself. If Atlas Shrugged, then Pamela picked it up! From Bay Watch to New York Times Bestseller List, damn it Pam, you did it! You got me to read a book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Book
I really had a fun time reading this book. It's very sexy, racy... it's not meant to be an award winning book. Just something fun and light to read, and I absolutely enjoyed it. I found myself rooting for Star even after she settled in Hollywood heavily involved in all different kinds of men. Nonetheless, I recommend this book to anyway who enjoys a sexy-hollywood/glamorous easy read. Can't wait to read the sequel!

4-0 out of 5 stars It's really not that bad.
I actually did like this book. I am now reading Starstruck and I think it is cute how she wrote it. I don't think she should have used big impressive words. She was just writting how she wanted to. She is already rich enough, so she was just doing it as a hobby I'm sure. I do kind of wish she would have made it her full autobiography. But in the end I like how she wrote it.
She was just vulnerable and it shows what Hollywood does to people. Throughout the whole book I was intrigued by what Star did and how she went on to becoming a Star. I loved it.

Go Pam! Some people know how to open their minds... Promise. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!
This book was great!, i liked it even more than Star, her first novel. this book shows Pam's life with Tommy Lee, and its a sexy, steamy, funny read. i laughed alot, and it was really cute to read it. defiantly a recommended read.

1-0 out of 5 stars A little too oversharing!
This book relates to her life wayyy too much. It should be a biography instead of fictional. Most of the events in the book are too close to actual events. It makes you think if she has any original thoughts in her head. I like her as a person, but I think she should not be an author. This book is not a good read.

3-0 out of 5 stars Star Struck: A Ridiculous Ending
We all know that the buxom blonde bombshell, Pamela Anderson, is not Ernest Hemmingway. This beachy read suits her personality, but the ludicrous ending came out of nowhere. Sure, there were a couple of hints that something was up in the middle portions of the book, but why did take away the likeable factor of Star? That was disappointing. She was supposed to be the heroine of the book, not a follower of a self-absorbed, controlling a-hole! Beach reads are not supposed to be literature, but that ending was dumb - even for a chick lit novel!

4-0 out of 5 stars A great read
If you read the first book you will definitely enjoy this sequel. Pamela Anderson adds a lot of personality to her characters and some of the story line is not so far off from her real life.

5-0 out of 5 stars AHHH Pamela! You are too good!
This book is fiction, but you can tell that she uses real life experiences to add to the fun. This book was a quick read and kept me entertained. I would recommend to any fan. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it for the pictures.
I was very disappointed with this book. It is small, a little larger than a paperback novel. The pictures are poor quality. Poor quality meaning bad coloration, grainy, and uninteresting (most pictures are press or news type images). I bought the book because I think Pam is beautiful, and I like looking at pictures of her. I think I would of liked this book more if I was interested in her life story, which seems to be the focus. This is a cheap small biography of Pam with not so great pictures. If you want a good book FULL of good pictures of Pamela Anderson, I recomend "Pamela Anderson Her Life in Pictures" by Stephen Wayda.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot book for a HOT Babe
This is a must have pictorial book for all the Pamela Lee Anderson fans!It features many compromising photos of Pam.See this Baywatch Babe in many different swimsuits and outfits as well. You will not be disappointed by the content. Hurry up and purchase the girl featured most ever on "Playboy" covers!

5-0 out of 5 stars PAMELA-TRULY A MODERN-DAY HEROINE/BEAUTY
Pamela Anderson in Pictures will be a classic about photography as well as personalities. PAMELA ANDERSON-THE MOST EXTRAORDINARILY GORGEOUS BEAUTIFUL, SEXY AND TALENTED WOMEN OF THE UNIVERSE. I have Never seen so many GREAT photos of a Beautiful Lady all in one place. The penultimate PAM book!!

4-0 out of 5 stars BEAUTY AT ITS FINEST!
My only complaint, no nudity, her body is so beautiful! I really enjoyed this book!I love her skinny eyebrows and body, her beautiful eyes, her full lips(natural), I dont like her (1991-92) look.Too girl next door, wehave enough of those!!Pamela Anderson is one of few women, like myself, that really enjoys being sexy, thin, beautiful!!!Why should she go backto being chubby, thick eyebrows, short hair, no makeup?I don't know aboutyou, but I feel we need more women like Pamela Anderson! She is a sweetperson, she cares about the world, she loves her children and is a goodmom, she has a great personality! Well take my opinion and go pick up acopy, you'll love it and if you don't, well theres always SandraBullock,(boring)!

2-0 out of 5 stars For Pamela Anderson fans only!
Usual Pamela Anderson, includes herself and not much more. She displays everything in the here and now, she's a real material girl.If your a fan of hers then go for the book, otherwise you won't enjoy it.She communicates her problems as they exist and sometimes doesn't know when to stop. Her life with Tommy Lee and her life without Tommy Lee is explained.Theres more to her than just this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Making Of a Monster
You have to look at it as it was meant to be seen.Compared to, say, the literary works of John Updike or the photography of Helmut Newton, this book is trash-bin material. On the other hand, if you're a Pamela Lee fanatic, you will probably erect a shine and this book will be the centerpiece, surrounded by a display of candles in busty-women shapes.

The interesting thing about this book is watching the progression/transmogrification of Pamela. She starts out very attractive and shapely, and somewhat sweet and innocent; there are even close-up shots of her face in which her blemishes haven't been masked by excessive make-up or airbrushed out, and here you can see a large numbers of freckles spackling her face.It makes you remember that Pamela was once a real person, a sweet-faced and attractive woman who tried very hard in interviews to sound brainy and far above her designation as a human Barbie doll.

Then came the implants, which augmented her breasts to unbelievable--and indeed, to this viewer's eyes--grotesque proportions. Was it necessary?Absolutely not.(Is it ever? Not even once.)Then the plucked eyebrows, and the tattoos, and the tight leather "Barb Wire" outfits, and the marriage to Tommy Lee... and the result?Pamela's looks and brains plunged out the window, holding hands and shrieking all the way down.

Today Pamela Anderson Lee is a gross caricature, an online joke, and an object of fixation only for those who prefer human beings be manufactured of plastic and silicone. The latter half of the book reflects Pamela's transformation from human being to human sexual monstrosity. Her continued popularity in various, often shadowy, circles is a testament only to the depraved mind-set of a select and lonely few.

This isn't exactly a critical study, however; nor is it precisely a piece of fan fluff from a photographer who seems to have more or less made his name solely from having the good fortune of shooting a star before she reached the stratosphere. It is, after all, a picture book, and a fairly well-made one at that. But in and around the pictures, in the margins and around the eyes and chest of its subject matter, one finds an interesting, if depressing, pictorial study of a woman in a steep decline of her life, body, and senses--a sex machine running on automatic. If there are any women out there thinking they aren't "adequate" because they don't conform to the "ideal" sexual designs men so often inflict upon the opposite gender, one gander at the devolution of Pamela from attractive human to awful automaton ought to rebuild some self-esteem and render the point more than moot. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Three Different Versions of This Book
Check before you buy: this book has been printed in 3 different editions. I am writing this review for the one I prefer which has dimensions of 16.6 x 13.5 inches. This is important because it is huge and for a book of nude photos of Pam Anderson this is the way to go. That said, it's also the most expensive version but the printing is incredible and well worth it. The other two versions have dimensions listed at 12.1 x 11.9 inches and 14.2 x 11 inches. Between the three the super-sized version is the way to go in terms of quality.

2-0 out of 5 stars It's a big book, but not many pictures.
If you're looking for another Sante D'Orazio collection, packed full of images like his last two books ("A Private View" & "Sante D'Orazio: Photographs"), this is not the book for you. What's not mentioned in the editorial review is that this is a companion piece/catalog for a gallery show held last Spring (2005) in New York. It's all about Pam, but in the end, there are 6-7 unique pictures with 3-5 variations on each image. ... Product Description
Perfection has never been so convenient.
Pam Anderson's infallible renditions of favorite dishes have made her America's most trusted cook. In COOKSMART, she returns with can't-fail recipes for everyday meals we all love, from spaghetti and meatballs, oven-fried chicken, and fajitas to foods for special occasions like crab cakes and vegetable lasagna. Pam knows today's cooks are too busy to tolerate less than superb results. She has tested and retested every recipe dozens of times so each one works flawlessly in real cooking and entertaining situations.
Cooking smart is about cooking sensibly. It means reducing the time and effort that go into a dish while delivering every bit of the flavor. You'll find oven-cooked ribs as succulent as those barbecued all day over a fire, a voluptuous chocolate cake as easy as a boxed mix, and cinnamon buns as fragrant and pillowy as they are convenient.
Cooking smart also means creating dishes the whole family can enjoy, such as turkey burgers as juicy as the best all-beef burgers but much lower in fat and cholesterol, and a crisp and creamy Caesar salad that isn't made with raw eggs.
COOKSMART recipes eliminate the unnecessary steps and troublesome quirks that keep you from making your favorite dishes. You'll learn how to prepare a pot roast as juicy and tender as the old-fashioned kind in just ninety minutes. You won't need special equipment for the meals in this book. Every ingredient used can be found in your local supermarket.
In COOKSMART, you'll be able to choose from dozens of holiday standbys: fresh shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, beef tenderloin for a crowd, silky pumpkin pie, and perfect pecan pie. And you'll find just asmany effortless family-pleasing meals to rely on during the week, such as chicken Parmesan and Pork Tenderloin with Curried Apple Crust, which comes with many flavor variations.
In every case, cooking smart means making a dish the very best it can be: a gazpacho chock full of summer-vegetable flavor, a pasta salad that -- for once! -- tastes as good as it looks, and a peach pie with a crisp crust and a fruity flavor that slices to perfection.
In COOKSMART, you'll not only get more than a hundred impeccable dishes that will become part of your cherished repertoire, but you'll acquire a wealth of culinary knowledge that you can apply to other recipes.Amazon.com Review
Pam Anderson's CookSmart: Perfect Recipes for Every Day is a collection of comfort-food favorites that she's perfected through a long process of trial and error. From her own experience as a chef, cookbook author (The Perfect Recipe), and food columnist for USA Weekend, Anderson has created a rigorous approach for selecting the best possible recipe for any given dish, winnowing out weaker, less satisfactory recipes in several stages. She starts by reviewing several recipes for the same dish. For example, Anderson noted that the conventional method of making fajitas included marinating the meat before it is cooked, which, in her opinion, masks the rich flavor of steak. In her version, the fajita meat gets a spice rub before cooking and then a brief, post-cooking sauna-like repose in a simple mixture of lime juice and garlic. The resulting fajitas have the relaxed subtle flavor of garlic, lime, and cumin that complement rather than overpower the tender steak.

This book provides good instruction for the beginning chef, demonstrating how to use the basic techniques to perfect one's own recipe. But there is a lot to read, so be warned. This book is a time commitment if attempting to read cover to cover, and it doesn't necessarily work in the real-time experience of looking and cooking. However, if you're searching for a collection of great, gourmet-style recipes for home-cooked favorites, CookSmart is a pretty wise choice. --Teresa Simanton ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Educational
This book is so informative. I love the research and detailed instructions. I highly recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Too much trial and error
This is a very unusual cookbook. For each recipe, there's a few pages about experiments she did to come up with the final recipe.

In that, this reads a whole lot like Cooks Illustrated.

Frankly, I like to read what WORKS, not what didn't, then finally, what did.

Since one of her goals was to make things "simple", it is very hard to know that the recipe calls for something because it works, or it's just the thing you can find at an average supermarket.

I want this to be a comment. It's not going to turn off everyone.

But if you'd rather read an Alton Brown book than Cooks Illustrated, this may not be an ideal book for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars I am a GREAT cook and this book has made me even better.
I am a huge cookbook maven.I have hundreds, some good ones and some were a waste of money. This is easily in my top 10 of cookbooks. I will now buy a Pam Anerson book by reputation alone. My entire family adores the Ceasar Salad. The Pasta salad combo's she has, has sent more that one friend to nirvana. We live in Malaysia and the food here is dynamite, but yes we crave good old American food and Pam is my go to girl for those needs. If you like easy recipes that you can find ingredients for, buy this book. Eat and be happy.

5-0 out of 5 stars always a winner - a reliable source
I'm a busy Mom who none-the-less wants my kids to eat real food.I don't have time for mistakes and trial and error. The book explains the entire process in an easy to read and understand manner and without fail, the recipes have all turned out fabulous. In fact, they are so delicious they have earned me quite a reputation. Now, whenever there is a pot luck - I get requests. The Blue Ribbon Chili is like the filet mignon of chili - I went to a barbecue this weekend and brought the Asian pasta salad and every single person asked me to send the recipe.I just got an email asking once again.I sent them the link to the book instead ;-)I sing Pam's praises often. Now my sister, her brother-in-law and several friends are all devotees.I highly recommend this book (my primary resource) as well as Pam Anderson's "How to Cook Without A Book" - the pan sauces alone make that one a worthwhile purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Chemist in the Kitchen
I loved CookSmart. As a chemist, I enjoy doing experiments at home in the kitchen as well as at work. The way that Pam described the process that she went through to find the ideal conditions for each recipe mirrors the careful manipulation and recordkeeping that accompanies a scientific experiment.I like knowing why each ingredient was chosen and what happened with other ingredients to make them less than perfect.Even if you don't appreciate the detailed dialogue that precedes each recipe, you will appreciate the results of using each perfected recipe.I tried the Chicken Parmesan, Oven-Fried Chicken, Turkey Burgers and some of the hints for perfect pie crust. All of the food turned out wonderfully and satisfied my need to occasionally prepare gourmet type food for my family.I am looking forward to trying more of the recipes! ...
