Book Description

Jennifer Aniston may be adored by fans equally for the dignity she's displayed in her very public personal life as she is for the performances that have made her an Emmy and Golden Globe–winning actress. Born into a family of actors, Jennifer grew up surrounded by the entertainment world on which she would eventually make her mark, but as explored in this biography, she had her share of childhood ups and downs. Every aspect of her career is considered—her early career, a challenge that she was about to give up for good, and the huge development that made her struggles worthwhile, landing the part that was to change her life forever—Rachel Green on Friends. The story of her next several years is fascinating, as she shot almost instantly to worldwide fame, remaining in the series for 10 years, and during this time established a high-profile relationship with Brad Pitt—seemingly perfect, and the envy of millions. As she left the stability of her series and transitioned to film, her marriage crumbled in one of the most publicized Hollywood scandals of recent years. However, the last chapters in Aniston's story so far tell of an actress showing the world her strength, bouncing back from heartbreak, and moving on to new relationships and bigger and better films. A close-up look at a much-loved survivor and superstar, this is a must-read for any fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome book on Jen!
This is a great book on Jen. Well-written and filled with plenty of color photos! Definitely highly recommended for Jen fans. You will be very satisfied.

3-0 out of 5 stars ehh
I read her mother's biography which was reiterated in the first many chapters of this book.It was somewhat entertaining, but not profound or too revealing.I ended the book with a sour taste for Ms. J. Aniston. She seems to lack a bit of class and loves the "f" word!It seems like she has grown immensely from her split with Pitt, but her growth was warped by such sudden fame.I think in many ways, she still seems lost. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I'm a Jennifer Aniston fan and I found this book well-written and interesting. The woman is an awesome talent, and I find her inspiring -- a class act and a great role model for women. I first read this bio in a library and liked it so much I bought a copyfor myself!

1-0 out of 5 stars Why this? Over simplifed, Expensive, and Not Needed
This is only 64 pages long and is "library bound"; that is to say, tha construction is sturdy enough for childrens' sections of public libraries intended for lending to kiddies, who are just as likely to beat their little siblings or their teddy bears with it as read it without it disintegrating. Twenty six dollars US and one finds multiple offerings on abebooks from English and French booksellers for a comparable price.

However if you are going to produce physical books appropriate for toddlers then the contents should be equally appropriate for toddlers. So the level of understanding of the intended audience ahould be behaviorly exemplary as well. That is where this sort of product falls short on the usefulness scale. Since the level of writing is labled as being for ages 4 to 8, one wonders why the entangled life styles of many celebrities would be considered fit for young children to read about, let alone emulate. The sturdy physical form of books found in children's sections should include age-appropriate content.

This means that the contents shouls be appropriate for young minds. TV in recent years has become coarser in its use of language but that is no reason for kiddies to be encouraged to use the ancient Anglo Saxon terms for various personal activites whixh we all know but onxw were discouraged from using in "polite society". Just lke we did, the kiddies will use those words anyway. :O The content should be of some interest to youngsters. But the tales of celebrity couplings and other activitie must be so bowlderizwd for this age level that there would be nothing pertinent sbout personal life. Daytime TV features pre-school learning in the forenoon and fornication, adultery, and other socially undesirable activties in the after noon!!

In any case, while post-pubescent teens and adults may understand and avidly follow the ins and outs of celebrity couplings, those sorts of activity are hardly to be emulated by children. Fornication, adultery, and mayhem were not covered in "Chidren's Activites" magazine that I read when I was a child. Celbrities' promiscuous life styles are inappropriate for kiddies. On the other hand, consenting adults should do what they like if it is not personally harmful or socially disruptive.

The "family values" ranters do have here a relevant point of no little consequence; many celebrities' private lives are hardly examplary except in a negative way. Not to be emulated. For every long term marriage such as that of Paul Newmn and Joanne Woodward there are dozens of promiscuous players and serial marriagers.

The "Hollywood Life Style" is nothing to be held up as a social model. But the motion picture industry has recently tried to sort out its audiences, and TV has the rather ineffective lableling system. But the latter goes down the tubes when such gruesome and brutalseries such as Third Watch, and scary and sexually rampant series originally aired in prime time such as Buffy and Angel are syndicated and strip run during the daylight hours when the kids are home from scchool. Movies and TV are full of tales of the high life and low life. Nothing new; from the days of Fatty Arbuckle through Errol Flynn (Who titled his memoirs "My Wicked Wicked Ways")to the presnnt. The coommon catch-pharase oft heard during WW II, "in like Flynn" was a reference to his notorious talents as a swordsman in both senses. ;0.

Not that it is only celebrities in the entertainment business who are now or have been notorious; there are enough corrupt politicians, straying priests and evangelists, crooked businessmen, hopped up and artificially enhances athletes, and brutal gangsters whose storiess could fill books. (The famous Babe Ruth was a well-known drunk and carouser. Just one historical example.)

Snd then there have been famous bi-sexuals, homosexuals, and lesbians both in and out of the closet from olden times to today. Whitman ( the poet for whom nany schools are named) Hoover, Hudson, and many others come to mi
I do not intend to condemn their way of life; I think any non-harmful activity that consnting adults participate in are fine so long as they don't bother anyone else. The nineteenth century saw, "Do what you want, just don't do it in the street and scare the horses!" is still relevent. But we should not set the doers up as examples for living, and especially to pre-adolescents who have not yet reached he "Age of Reason" as defined by many faiths.

Nor are these comments meant as personal criticicism of clebrities' private activities. I follow the press on actresses, singers and others in publications ranging from Vanity Fair to US. The significant word is private. Who needs to know who does what whan and where with whom?

The paparazzi press is full of irrelevancy.(I stop there; no Weekly World News or Enquirer for me!)) I follow Jennifer's because I enjoy her acting ability in varous film roles, not just Friends. But what social uses have the details of her personal life. And this is not criticism of such trivial but responsible magazines as US. It's coverage is restrained compared with some. I subscrible to Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, EW, snd give a reward for sticking to the professional work for the most part to EW and the new incarnation of TV GUIDE.

Even so, one wonders why some excellent actors get excessively dtailed personal coverage in the "celemags" and some of equat talent don't. For example the adept Reese Witherspoon who leads a stable married life while yet the multi-tletned Ashley Judd in recent years has for the most part sppeared in the fashion press, and is ignored by the paparzzi.

So, the conclusion is that if you are going to publish books in a sturdy form approprate to children's sections then the content should also be appropriate for children. Leave adult subjects to the post-adolescent and adult markets. ... Read more

Book Description
This book is an interesting commentary on Marriage as an endangered institution and why it is so hard for two people to come together in such a union and make it work. It is a 'must read' for any romantic's out there, lovers, married people, single people and anyone hoping to get married some day. It does so by very carefully examining what could have made the "Fairytale" union of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston turn out to be a Nightmare for the latter. It looks at the role played in the whole saga by that acclaimed femme fatale, Ms. Angelina Jolie. How does a human being(in this case, Jennifer Aniston) deal with a situation where they marry someone they "know" quite well and wake up one day to find a complete stranger? It delves deeply into the issues arising as a result of the shocking break up. It weighs in on Brad's decision to dump his wife for a new beginning with a high risk partner and compares his actions to those of a select group within the industry. Did fate have a hand in the birth of Brangelina, in other words was it ordained from above? The book also examines the sometimes frightening and often ridiculous antics of the paparazzi as it relates to the saga. What are the possibilities of having a lasting union between a confirmed bi-sexual female and a heterosexual male! Will the Media ever allow Jen to get over Brad? It provides an analysis of the various Lessons of the break up of the decade and the new Adoption Mania, how genuine is it all. Are these innocent Orphans becoming mere pawns in a PR Orchestra. It concludes by posing all those sensitive questions to all parties in the Triangle, that everyone wishes they could have the opportunity to ask them but in reality can't. For example, what would Ange do if she ever catches Brad with naked pictures of Zahara when she is an adult, ala Woody Allen? Or, what is likely to happen if Brad and Ange both fall for the same woman?

1-0 out of 5 stars Big disappointment
I immediately regretted buying this book after the first few pages. For one, the author obviously did not evenbother todo spell checking, proofreading or editing! It is full of grammatical errors which made me suspicious right away if the contents are legit. I read through it because I was hoping I would be somehow pleasantly surprised at the end but it just didn't deliver.I would sum this up as tabloid fodder disguised as aworthybook. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book for stay at home moms
i think this is a great warning to women who give their whole life away to their husbands and leave nothing for themselves.
I feel bad that Jen's mom would reveal too many intimite details of her life. Nancy shouldn't have revealed as much as she did and I get the impression that she hid a lot of facts
from us. I feel for Jen and I like her even more now because of the book. Her mom did a good job of portraying jen in a good light and i do hope they can reconcile. I've heard that they have. I also hope that Jen can help her mom financially, since it is hard to be a full time mom and that rat ex of hers left her with hardly anything.

5-0 out of 5 stars From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir
Nancy Aniston is a very bitter woman. Her memoir is written with such condescension about her family and friends that one wonders if her psycho bable camaflages her self centered personality. It is clear she is jealous of her daughter's celebrity status and wants the world to know how responsible she was for Jennifers talent, only to be rejecterd by Jennifer in favor of hangers on and Jonnie come- late-lies. (lies?, that's interesting how that spilled out.)) The memoir is revenge against Jenifer, and is ugly and in bad taste.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bleeding Heart
This is one of the most trite books I have ever picked up to read. The entire story is that of a desperate woman trying to understand why her famous daughter no longer desires a relationship with her...well it is obvious! She sold her out once during a television interview and in her attempt to rekindle the relationship she sold her out again by writing this trashy novel.
Throughout the book she attempts to appear deep, when really her writing comes off worse than a beginning writing course at a community college.
This book is a serious waste of time and money, and frankly if I were Jennifer Aniston I wouldn't bother with a mother like that either.

3-0 out of 5 stars an overpaid tv star, who must believe her own publicity
I just finished this book, and I can't believe the reviews I've seen here.Did I read the same book as the rest of you? It seemed to me to be a thoughtful, sincere effort to understand the sad estrangement from her only daughter. One television interview warrants 8YEARS OF SILENCE?Give me a break!!! While the actors on Friends are certainly talented, no one deserves that kind of money! Her mother did without all those years, supported her, emotionally and otherwise, and this is how she is treated?I don't think the mother is self-centered, egotistical or borderline, at all.It sounds to me more like you're describing her daughter.I'm a firm believer of "Karma", and I really believe this will come back around to haunt Jennifer. I would give anything to have my wonderful mother here to talk to.I think Nancy Aniston has done a courageous job of "getting on with her life".I totally recommend this book.Karol Santiago

1-0 out of 5 stars in need of a talented therapist..
The book should have been titled, "me, me ,me"...I can only hope that Jennifer Aniston continues to nurture and be nurtured by her relationships with the people in her life that love her..I found the book to be very sad and in a sense, a cry for help.. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Worthless, Dated, A Complete Waste of Money
Many of the people listed in the pdf. are dead; a shocking number of the supposed celebrities can be contacted only through a medium. Unless you're interested in communing with the spirit world, skip this volume entirely. A complete waste of money, with incomplete addresses, typos galore, contact numbers through agencies rather than personal info; a complete waste of your time, and your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!Everything you need, nothing more.
This book provides exactly what you want - a list of addresses for basically every relevant celebrity in the world. Many books on this subject contain lots of pages filled with useless recommendations and sample letters, all of which are easily accessible on the internet.

If you are an autograph junkie, fundraiser or just a big fan of celebrities, this is the book for you.Get your letters ready because you will have more than enough addresses to start working with. ... Read more
