Very valuable but don't buy it first
I enjoyed this book and was very informed by it. I doubt you can find more detailed background data about Lucille Ball's work (from the beginning of her career to the end, from stage to the big and small screens) and her (lesser known) co-stars and co-workers anywhere else. The problem is, I'm a new fan to Lucy and I wanted to read about her life in a more conventional way (where she was born, raised, her influences, her marriage, children, etc). Those types of books got such mixed reviews from fans that I thought I'd start with this one, which had only positive reviews. There is some basic bio in this book, but it assumes you know that type of information about Lucy. So I would just say: make sure you don't start with this book if you're a new fan. It's like getting to know her backwards (everyone around her instead of the star herself). This is definitely a book for seasoned fans who want to know "more."

A must read for any Lucy fan!

This book was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn't put it down.I loved the format, the authors perspective and views were interesting and unique and you could tell he was a real Lucy fan (who isn't).Add this book to your cart and you won't be disappointed.You can read it again and again because of the unique way it is written.A must for Lucy fans.Enjoy!

Quiz: What's the best (and only) quiz book on Lucille Ball?
Answer: This one! This was a present for my niece, who loves Lucy, and she told me she also loved the book. Questions galore, plus extra trivia, and the quiz subjects are all interesting. For Lucille Ball fans, this is nirvana.

A Nice Memory Scrapbook of I Love Lucy
I am watching the I Love Lucy DVD sets right now.I loved to watch the TV show when I was a little kid right up through adulthood.This book is a great help while watching the DVDs.I can look up an episode that I really loved and read more about it.Memories can be stirred up or I can find out more about the show for the first time.My only regret is that the book isn't comprehensive.It deals with the best episodes and not all of them.I would love a book that deals with all the episodes but maybe it would be too big.

I used this as a textbook for a film class I taught last year and the class loved it.The book contains solid biographical information and it's really fun to read.Plus, author Horowitz offers some very perceptiveinsights into women's comedy.My only criticism is that footnotes wouldhave been really helpful because the students wanted to follow up on someof the sources -- but overall I highly recommend it. ... Stay away from this rehash of Lucy Anecdotes.It is totally inacurrate. Brochu adds nothing to the Lucy Legend here and makes a pest of himself in the process.Lucy Arnaz says in her website to "skip this one".

Worst book I ever read!
This is the worst book ever written!It's obvious the author doesn't know what he is writing about.Not only that, this book is poorly written and contains no real information.The more you read, the more you wonder why you are reading.Where is this book taking me?What is the point of this book?

There is no point.Absolutely no point at all.It appears the author is merely trying to benefit from the fame of a dead Hollywood actress.If Lucy only knew!

I spent three hours with this book and it saddens me that I'll never get those three hours back.I also hope this book was printed on recylcled paper because it would be a real shame if a tree gave up its life for this.
