Pat Boone's testimony--but so much more...
Ok, for those of you who don't know, this is Pat Boone's personal story of how he came into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through discovering that the Holy Spirit is a real person, not just an abstract theological concept.Because this is his personal story, as well as that of how his family came to the same experience, that is how it reads: as informally as if he were sitting with the readers in their own living rooms, having a conversation.The section of his book telling how his daughters were filled with the Holy Spirit is something I often find myself going back to and rereading when I am emotionally low; it picks me up every time!To make a possibly not-long-enough story short--get this book and read it.I don't believe you will be disappointed, especially if you're looking for meaning and purpose to life. ... A book that makes sense of life.
"Questions About God" sets out to prove the Bible's accuracy. For me, it does this beyond a shadow of a doubt. Early on, the authors state clearly that they use science's own principles to prove God's existence. The authors fulfil on their promise in a most convincing way. It's a win-win situation: those who study science will discover that science itself shows the existence of God. Those who find their interpretation of Scripture is at odds with some aspects of science, will find that the existence of God is proved through the Bible. The chapter, "Does the Bible Offer Evidence of Divine Inspiration?" is richly detailed and very well done, as is the rest of this book. Definitely recommended.

Age of the universe not discussed?
It is stated that authors do not take sides of the question regarding the age of the universe. They have chosen to not recommend either side. They will only present the existance of God and that He is indeed the Creator.
Yet mention is made of the theoretical "big bang" which requires acknowledgement of an old age view and is really an accomodation to atheism in the opinion of many. It cannot be recognized both ways.

The creation science view is consistent with all observable science and does allow for recent creation.Especially convincing is the origin of 'death' in only the recent case. See [...] for remarkable real science.
Therefore I don't think I can recommend this book since it does not present the Biblical view.

Highly Recommended
The authors address questions that almost everyone asks at some time in their life:If there is a God, why does He allow tragedy and suffering in the world? How did the world begin? Was there a divine Creator, or did it all happen by chance? Is truth absolute or relative? What's my purpose? Does the Bible contradict science and history? Was Jesus the Son of God as He claimed--or just a good man who walked the earth? What motivates atheists to reject belief in a deity?

The chapter on "why God allows suffering in the world" is particularly strong. Although not dismissive of the many injustices in the world, the authors provide clear explanations that address evil in the world and the exercise of man's free will.

The book is well researched and chockfull of studies and quotations from the scientific community and from medical experts. The writing style is clever and punchy. With only 162 pages, the book makes fast reading. Highly recommended.

The Best Book on This Topic
I've read many books on this topic, and this is by far the best. It avoids sermons, is easy to read, and is full of facts. It offers the most compelling evidence yet for the existence of God. A friend of mine gave me a copy -- she'd bought several to give to friends -- and after reading it, I bought a copy for a friend. The book affirms the faith of Christians, and offers compelling evidence to nonbelievers. To duplicate the information in this book, you'd have to buy several single-topic books and load your friends down with a pile they'd never read. This book covers it all -- with a lot of new information -- in just 162 pages. It's an easy, entertaining read, and one of the best books on any topic I've ever read. ... Read more

I enjoyed the book, as did a colleague I loaned it to.It's Pat's philosphical statement using his career in pop music as a vehicle.There is some historical perspective and interesting stories along the way.Pat Boone is a genuinely good guy.Someone who stuck to his values despite the opposition.We need more like him, especially in the entertainment world. Great Autobiography!! Where are his Movies?!
This is a greataccurate,descriptive autobiography of the reknowned entertainer Pat boone and is highly recommended!!It's unfortunate though that many of his excellent movies and musicals he starred in especially back in the 50's and 60's have never been released on video including Bernardine-1957,April Love-1957,Mardi Gras-1958,All hands on Deck-1961,The Main Attraction-1962,The Yellow Canary-1963,The Horror of it All-1963,Never Put It In Writing-1964,The Perils of Pauline-1967.Video distributors both large and small should aggressively pursue the release of these long lost gems!!So,spread the word!!Elvis as great as he was,should not get all the glory!! ...
