5-0 out of 5 stars Naomi -A models model
I bought this book for my niece. She's an aspiring model.Since her early childhood she's felt a connection to modeling and with the fame Naomi has achieved. This book is great!!This is my second purchase. The first one I got at a Nordstroms or Saks about 10 or so years ago.The photos are spectacular

4-0 out of 5 stars Why is Naomi so really beautiful?
By putting this book together with taste and great fun, N. demonstrates she is a brainy & nice lady. She also seems to be such a prima donna (in the best sense of the expression, really, that is deserving it) thatshe defies the more mundane categories of talent & beauty -- she reallycreates herself with determination &, I think, a huge dose of humor. This book is as pleasant an experience to read/look at than looking fromtime to time at a favorite painting on the wall of a museum. I don't thinkit will ever age and that it can illuminate an otherwise dull day.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
All the pictures are of high quality. The layout is great. There is also an interview with Naomi.A book you would treasure for years.

1-0 out of 5 stars Et tu, Naomi?
Everyone seems to be trying to capitalize on celebrity these days, why should a model be any different? But rather than spill her heart out in juicy tell all, Campbell, obviously figuring there were not enough photographs of her in circulation, toots her own horn in this sappy, silly exercise in narcissism by publishing "never-before-seen photographs" of--who else?--herself!There is Naomi in Thailand, Naomi sans make up, Naomi with family.By the time we read about Naomi's friendship with Nelson Mandela (captioned, of course, under a photo of the two together--who says supermodels have no conscience?) we appreciate why these photos have never been seen before, and further, why they should never be seen again.

4-0 out of 5 stars a must have for naomi's fan's
this book let's you look at naomi in ways you have never seen befor and shows you why she earns tens of thousands strutting on the runway.Twenty dollars is a very cheap price to see her the way you will in this book ... Read more

Product Description
Swan is the world's most successful supermodel. But she doesn't want to live this life forever--even if it means kissing goodbye a cosmetics contract worth millions. There are a thousand girls who'd do anything to get the job, but only five have what it takes. While they all know what they want and how to get it, it's a bumpy ride--and someone is trying to make it a whole lot rougher. Available in February. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Plain Putrid
This book is so obscene in some parts, and its not even written by Naomi Campbell, but some filthy man. Dont pick up this book if you want your brain to be burnt away by the promiscious literary flop of some freak.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Peek into Modeling
This is a very fascinating book that lets you see inside the minds of five unique characters (plus Swan herself). It centers around the five amateur models on the shortlist to replace supermodel Swan for a cosmetics campaign. There are so many things going on in this book that it never has time to get boring! The characters are written with excellent detail and realism and the story has lots of twists and turns. Impossible to put down!

4-0 out of 5 stars Who will be the next SWAN girl?
A fictional story that portrays the ups-and-downs of 5 fashion models and their rise to the top. There is Cassie, the All-American blonde; Celestia, an aristocratic beaty; Gigi, the spunky Cuban immigrant and Amy, the second generation Jamaican. We also hear from Swan, the supermodel, who has her own story to tell.... As we learn more and more about each one, their lives become intertwined.... an interesting story and hard to put down!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovely
This book was absolutely fabulous! The book is definately a page turner up to the very last page. Naomi weaves the lives of a dozen characters seamlessly. It was very modern and informative. There is a peak at the great exciting and the not so glamorous sides to fashion. The book explains cultural, racially, and international differences thoughts and traditions that just made me think about the role I play as a public viewer and a consumer. Even though it was a fictionalized story there were so many real to life examples of things that happen. It really made me think. I loved the characters, the designs, the designers, the talk of the clothes, romance, sexy scenes(without being trashy), and the kindred networking and friendship between the women characters in the book. I also enjoyed the suspense. Naomi even gives humanity to the most unsavory characters. I hope that Naomi Campbell sends another novel our way. This book is a great read.

Excerpt: Naomi Campbell (born 22 May 1970) is a British model. Discovered while shopping in London, Campbell started her career in the 1980s and soon appeared on the catwalks of Milan and Paris as well as on the cover pages of internationally renowned fashion magazines. She is also known for perfumes associated with her name, and for a series of legal issues. Campbell was born in Streatham, London, England. Her mother, Valerie Campbell (née Morris), is a former ballet dancer of Afro-Jamaican descent. In accordance with her mother's wishes, Campbell has never met her father, who left then-18-year-old Valerie two months after the birth of their daughter. He was unnamed on birth certificate and neither Campbell nor her mother have ever publicly revealed his identity. However, sources say he was of Chinese Jamaican descent. As a young child, Campbell was left in the care of a nanny while her mother travelled across Europe with the dance troupe Fantastica. At age 10, she was accepted into the Italia Conti Academy stage school, where she studied ballet. Campbell attended Dunraven School, a comprehensive school run by Inner London Education Authority in Streatham. Campbell's enormously successful modelling career, in some respects unprecedented for a black model, made her one of the most recognizable and in-demand models of her generation. During the so-called supermodel era of the early 1990s, she was part of the "Big Six", alongside Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Kate Moss, and "The Trinity", alongside Turlington and Evangelista. Campbell has appeared on more than 100 magazine covers and has enjoyed a runway career longevity matched by very few. On an epi...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=19371120 ... Read more
