helpful and funny
This is a great cookbook.It breaks things down into basics, and uses very standard ingredients.We use the biscuit recipe all the time! All of the food is delicious! It is a great gift idea!

Good For Easy Recipes - Highly Recommended
"The Cookbook for Men Who Must" is a collection of man friendly dishes that are well thought out and include very clear directions and color pictures that even I could follow. The philosophy of the author, Richard Chamberlain, is "Everything in Moderation" and it is a reoccurring theme throughout the book which encourages using less fat, less sugar, and taking smaller portions. While little of this can be considered health food, most of the recipes are scaled back in the "bad" stuff, with the notable exception of the last chapter (and you are repeatedly advised not to read the last chapter).

The Introduction, Getting Started, and Meal Planning chapters include your first exposure to his cooking philosophy (often alluded to in the following chapters) and a brief discussion on equipment, ingredients, and cooking in his style.

The actual recipe chapters include Breakfasts, Appetizers/Snacks,Salads, Side Dishes, Main Courses, Desserts, and "Don't Even Go Here". All of the recipes are practical and several include suggestions for variations. I found the "Fried Chicken with Onions and Mushrooms" (page 66) to produce very good results (but I didn't add the mushrooms) and was the perfect meal for my night to cook.

Being diabetic, the pictures and descriptions in the "Don't Even Go Here" chapter almost sent me into a coma.

I also like that the cover of the book is glossy, which allows it to wiped off when it gets messy in the kitchen, and this pagers are spiral bound so it lays flat, which makes it possible to leave open while following the recipes.

While the final picture is amusing, especially considering the picture on the cover, it should only be viewed on an empty stomach.

good beef cookbook
This cookbook has good, healthy beef recipes for everyday cooks using mostly common ingredients.Nutrition information for every recipe and lots of color photographs.
It also has tips and suggestions for cooking methods and using different cuts of beef. This cookbook would be a welcomed gift for a beginning or experienced cook, male or female. The price was good, too!

Delicious and oh-by-the-way...healthy, too!
I love, love, love this book. As someone who can't eat a lot of dairy and loves food and taste, I have to say this is a great cookbook. It seems like most recipes either have cheese or cream in them. These recipes have a lot of fresh ingredients and taste delicious. I love the sun dried tomato meatloaf (best I've ever had), the tortilla soup, and the chili is great (adding some bacon makes it even better...less healthy, but it is good!). Our kids love these recipes, too. It's definitely a staple cookbook that everyone should have.

Chef Chamberlain Rules!
Chef Richard Chamberlain brings to print wonderful recipes typical of the fine dishes served in his Dallas restaurant.This book is a must for true "beef lovers" and would be a great present for your friends and family.It is great to read that "all of the red meat I have been sticking in my face" for so long, could actually be healthy; when prepared properly.

Computer Validation explained for those who need no aid.
This book does not deliver as advertised.I understand that this is the "defacto standard" for computer validation.However, if you don't already know how to validate a computer system this book is useless. There are no clear instructions, examples of tests or the like.

In fact,most of the information gathered in this book is available for free fromthe FDA website, and it is only 41 pages long.
