Red Tractor
This is a great book with a great message.It's a little more advanced for our one year old, but we'll be reading it to him soon!

Great Moral, Failed Communication
A parable about the importance of reading Scripture and fulfilling God's purpose for your life with the help of His Spirit, The Big Red Tractor and the Little Village attempts to share an important message, but fails to communicate it effectively to today's kids. In the story, the villagers use the Big Red Tractor to plow their fields, yet they have to manually push and pull the tractor along because they don't know that it can run on its own. Any kid who has been to a farm is going to be asking how the villagers could possibly have missed that important and seemingly obvious fact. That part really hung me up. Apart from that, the illustrations are terrific and the moral of the story is good.

Great illustrations - Great Theology
This book beautifully communicates the theology of being empowered by the Holy Spirit. Makes it more clear for adults as they read to ages 2+

We liked the Francis Chan book.It is being passed from one family to another.The 8 year olds read it to younger kids.
I think they enjoyed Halfway Herbert more, though.

My Kids Love It
I am a Francis Chan fan and was very excited to see that he wrote a couple of children's books to accompany Crazy Love and Forgotten God. I purchased both The Big Red Tractor and Halfway Herbert for my 4, 2, and 1-year-old. My 2 and 4-year-old love them. The pictures are bright colored and attractive. There are a few visual jokes that my kids are too young to understand but parents and older kids will see the humor. Both books end with a Biblical lesson and Bible verse. ... Read more

Great for Kids and Adults
This is officially one of my top ten favorite picture books! Halfway Herbert is funny and entertaining for kids and adults alike. It teaches a great moral that will no doubt hit home with parents and their children. The brightly colored illustrations are sure to be a crowd-pleaser (and they're pretty hilarious too). Two thumbs up!

This book has great illustrations and is fun to read.Our grandchildren, ages 4-8, loved it.I think the message is one they will remember.

Great Book for Kids
I thought it was a cute book about doing things right all the way, all the time. I look forward to reading it to my Granddaughter when she gets bigger!

Nice collection of African views
This is a nice collection and cross-section of African views on China's fast-growing relations with Africa.No stunning analysis or data, and not a very wide range of viewpoints, but it is useful to hear from some African experts themselves rather than from China or international relations scholars, journalists, or political pundits with a particular bias.

Offers different views united by their concerns for social justice in Africa
African Perspectives on China in Africa offers college-level material for any library serious about China's involvement in Africa. Traditional commentary focuses on either assessing how the interests of Western capital might be affected or denouncing China's practices - the same actually as those of the West and Europe. This collection of essays from the prize-winning electronic newsletter Pambazuka News offers different views united by their concerns for social justice in Africa.

The majority of studies on the quality of life have been conducted in Western contexts and are based on Western participants. Comparatively speaking, there are only a few studies that have been conducted in different Chinese contexts. Also, there are fewer QOL studies based on children and adolescents, or studies that examine the relationship between QOL and economic disadvantage. In addition, more research is needed to address the methodological issues related to the assessment of quality of life.

This volume is a constructive response to the challenges described above. It is the first book to cover research in Chinese, Western and global contexts in a single volume. Quality of life reearch in Chinese, Western and global contexts
Quality of life (QOL) research has become popular over the last decade or so. Making a search on "quality of life" at Medline/PubMed, when writing this review, revealed 74,415 entries with the first papers from the 1960s.
This book edited by Daniel TL Shek from the Social Welfare Practice and Research Centre of the Department of Social Work, Ying Keung Chan from the Department of Sociology and Paul SN Lee from the School of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese University in Hong Kong, is an interesting book looking at the concept QOL from a holistic point of view. Of the 17 chapters, the first five are studies from Canada, the Netherlands, Denmark and the United States, while the rest are studies on QOL in Hong Kong.
This book is unique due to the global scope, QOL at different stages of the life span, the holistic and multidisciplinary approach and the different methodology used in the various studies.
This book will become an important source for both academics, researchers and students involved with the issue of QOL research both on a national and international level.
