Ghor, Kin-Slayer: The Saga of Genseric's Fifth-Born Son
I have been a fan of Mr Howard for nearly 12 years now, which in myopinion, makes me a bit of a connoisseur, and frankly this book was a bitof a disappointment.Undoubtedly the contributing writers arewell-respected and immensely able but their writing lacked the Howardianflavour I have come to love.Ghor's sudden personality shifts are hard tofollow and the various ideas in the story lack sufficient depth.This bookis not the way Mr Howard would have written it.Nevertheless, this shouldbe read because the original idea belonged to the great REH.

EXCELLENT BOOK
I WAS VERY SUPRISED ABOUT HOW WELL THIS STORY CAME OFF. THE VARIUOS WRITERS DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN WRITING AN EXCITING BOOK THAT FLOWED SMOOTHLY.IT DID NOT COME OFF AS A SERIES OF SHORT STORIES.THIS IS ANEXCELLENT BOOK FOR ROBERT E. HOWARD FANS, AND FANS OF FANTASY IN GENERAL.

GHOR is the Cthulhu's Conan.
Ghor is a nice blend of Conan and the Cthulhu Mythos together.Abandonedas a child because of a deformity, Ghor is adopted by a pack of wolves. Raised by them, he adopts the ways of the wolf, yet when he meets up withhumanity joins them.Constantly struggling with his wolf upbringing andhis human surroundings, Ghor becomes a mighty war hero wherever hegoes.

This is an excellent adventure book that takes a Conan like heroand plots him against all sorts of evil (and good), including some Cthulhucreations as well.

Originally Ghor was an unfinished story by Conancreator Robert Howard.Upon finding this unfinished story, a magazinedecided to finish it.What they did was have a different chapter everymonth written by a different top fantasy writer.It made the readinginteresting.

While most of the chapters were great.Some wereexcellent.Unfortunately there were a couple chapters that I just wantedto get through to reach the next writers' chapter.Overall a really goodread. ... Read more

A fine book, poor Kindle edition
This is a splendid book for those interested in a detailed history of the Ardennes offensive.Dr. Cole's work is detailed and precise, and is particularly notable for its discussion of the manner in which the plan for the offensive was evolved by Hitler and the German generals, as well as its treatment of the topography and the logistics involved in the preparation for the battle.The book itself deserves five stars, but, regrettably, the Kindle edition is very poor.There are numerous typographical errors, including errors in numbers, the latter critical to a book that depends heavily on dates and unit designations, many of which are erroneous in this edition due to the typographical errors.There is a table of contents, but its information is not very useful because the individual chapters cannot be accessed from it.Worst of all, THE KINDLE EDITION INCLUDES NO MAPS.This renders the detailed descriptions of locations and unit movements nearly unintelligible to the reader.This in turn makes the Kindle edition very difficult to follow for anyone who does not have his or her own large-scale maps of the Ardennes region.Rather than spending money on the Kindle edition, prospective readers may wish to purchase the hard copy of the book instead.Book:Five stars.Kindle edition: No stars. ... A personal favorite
I need to be objective and not give this 5 stars; however, for those interested in Ohio history, "Lion of the Forest" is a great read.James Finley could have been just another circuit rider; that in itself would have made his life story interesting.Above and beyond, he was a man ahead of his time.He railed against alcohol abuse, helped cause a split of the Methodist Church because of his strong anti-slavery stance, fought the federal government on behalf of the Wyandot, and worked for the cause of prision reform.All this from a man who was poor his whole life, and who, we deduce from his personal journals, probably suffered from bouts of severe depression.Reading his story made me proud to be an Ohioan. ... Class Reference
This book was recommended by my teacher and unless you know nothing about Matlab this book will not help you in a class. It would be fine if you just wanted to know about Matlab or if you know nothing about Matlab. My personal opinion is this book was a waste of my six bucks ... Read more
