Because the body she's exhumed isn't alone. He's joined by a young woman whose name is on a missing person's list. The one person Greer can call for help is FBI agent Ash Keller. Ash hasn't forgotten the hot blonde with the too-sexy smile and he hasn't forgiven her for leaving him behind when she quit the Bureau. 5-0 out of 5 stars Suspense and romance all rolled up into one
This book kept me glued to the pages. I enjoyed reading everyone's perspectives of what was going on, including the killer's. What Greer went through 2 years ago at the hands of a serial killer would likely send most women to an institution, but Greer has survived (barely). She is merely existing rather than living, but she doesn't know any other way. That is until her estranged husband Ash enters the picture due to some recent murders in her small town (at the time, they were not certain it was at the hands of a serial killer). Ash forces Greer to include him in her life and he in turn helps her deal with her past.

It's a great book and I enjoyed the suspenseful nature.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sizzling suspense
When a grave is opened due to a contested will, authorities discover an extra body in the casket. This is the last thing burned out FBI profiler and now small town deputy Greer Lomax needs. Haunted by memories of the last FBI case she worked on, she escaped to her hometown to avoid these kinds of crimes. The killers MO is to match recently deceased men with the perfect woman for them. The only problem is that the women aren't dead yet. When she records the crime in VICAP, it comes to the attention of the FBI, and her ex-husband Ash Keller arrives on scene to take over the investigation. Greer has difficulty working with Ash, as she still holds him responsible for becoming the target of a serial killer. Will they be able to put their differences aside to find the killer, who is amassing several victims?

Denton has been primarily known for her Harlequin Blaze romances. Denton has taken a departure in her writing, weaving a fascinating and psychological thriller, with a touch of spicy romance. "The Matchmaker" is definitely not for the squeamish, but it's a good thriller overall. Those familiar with publishing house Brava (light erotic romance) might be a little disappointed, as the sizzling sex scenes are kept to a minimum.

3-0 out of 5 stars Regina
I waited a year for this book to finally come out.I was a little disappointed with the story line.

5-0 out of 5 stars Top Notch Romantic suspense
Jamie Denton has writing a spine tingling, toe-curling novel of romantic suspense. It will keep you on the edge through out the whole story.

Greer Lomax ran from her job as an FBI profiler back to her hometown. She took a job as a small town deputy hoping it would keep her demons at bay. Greer was the victim of a sadistic man on her last case and it torments her daily. When a body turns up where it's not supposed to be Greer's anxieties are heading into overdrive. But this dead body brings to her and her town the one person she wanted to avoid.

Special Agent Ash Keller reads about the going on in Greer's hometown and it sends a red flag to his profiler instincts. This mission is two fold for Ash; he needs to see if this is really a serial killer and to get Greer back in his life. Ash's feelings for Greer have never died and he would do anything to get her back.

Ash's and Greer's relationship is not your typical romance. Its deeper and more painful since their last cast together effected them both. These two character though wounded by their past are strong and powerful. They send sparks off each other whether they are arguing or making love. The suspense is riveting and will keep you reading well until you have finished the novel. This book ranks right up there for me as a spectacular romantic suspense novel. I can't wait to see what this author brings next.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Different Kind of Romantic Suspense
Greer Lomax is haunted by her last case with the FBI.A case gone wrong that left her in the hands of a serial killer. The reason behind this...a miscalculation on the part of her husband Ash Keller a top FBI profiler.Needing space and time to deal with what happened to her, Greer moves to Magnolia, North Carolina in order to renovate a rundown Victorian. While doing this she deals with her mother, and with the stress of being deputy for the local police force. But when a serial killer starts operating in her county she is forced to face her demon's sooner then she is ready for and this also brings her estranged husband to town.Together these two work a new case but Greer has lost her trust in Ash and that could be a problem, especially when the heat and fire still burns between them. Will this be the final thing that tears them apart or will this be the case that allows them both to heal and believe in the love that is between them?

This was a fair romantic suspense although there were parts of the story that seemed to drag a little. The "mystery" of the killer is not really that much of a mystery and will not be the element that will keep the reader engaged.Rather it's the dance the two main characters perform while dealing with the issues between them.At times the reader may find themselves frustrated with Greer's stubborn nature but bare with her.The romance between her and her estranged husband will make up for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars I CRIED FOR THEM!!
THIS BOOK WAS BEAUTIFUL. I ADMIRED ALL OF THE WOMEN AND THE MEN IN THEIR LIFE BECAUSE THEY HAD THE COURAGE TO GET WHAT THEY WANT AND NEED IN THEIR LIFE. MANY WOMEN AND MEN AREN'T THAT BRAVE AND I FOR ONE WISH I WAS HALF AS BRAVE!!

;) WILD THING ;)

3-0 out of 5 stars Very short short stories
Too short to be a truly satisfying read but for a quickie, it will do.

2-0 out of 5 stars Mostly boring
I really enjoy watching Sex in the City but somehow this wannabe was just annoying. However I did enjoy "Enticing" by Carrie Alexander. Somehow it did not come off as shallow as the other two.

4-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
Three of Harlequin's most stunning authors combine their talents for STROKE OF MIDNIGHT, an anthology readers will not want to miss. New Year's Eve brings three single women together for a Venetian masquerade ball at the home of famous shoe designer Rafe Monticello. They agree that if they are all three still single the following New Year's Eve, they will show up at the party together next year. I confess to a fondness for anthologies that hold together as well as this one. While each story is unique, the overall effect is a wildly romantic New Years that heats cold winter nights with delightful passion. Indeed, Denton, Alexander and Warren dazzle readers with their harmonious offering that both tantalizes and pleases at any time of year.

"Impulsive" by Jamie Denton: Fashion reporter Natalie Trent meets sexy Joe Sebastian, who simply disappears into the night after a scintillating encounter. At least she gets to take home a pair of Monticello shoes and set up interviews with the people she meets. Significantly, Natalie wears an unbuttoned man's tuxedo shirt and shakes a stud from her hair when she meets her new friends, providing proof of a heated encounter with a man who disappears at midnight and suddenly reappears at the next New Year's party.

"Enticing" by Carrie Alexander: Isabel Parisi claims to come to the party for the French champagne and the Italian men. As a fabric designer, she has been working with the Monticellos on the spring line. During the course of the year, online correspondence leads to a wonderful friendship with Tom Grace. Despite her proclamations that she does not want to actually meet him, Tom crashed the party hoping to meet Isabel without destroying their friendship.

"Tantalizing" by Nancy Warren: Adrianne Sorenson attends the party because she is Rafe Monticello's accountant. Despite an endless string of women, Rafe Monticello wants the one woman who seems immune to his charms. Indeed, her clueless rejection only made him pursue harder. This year Rafe intends to overcome her reticent caution with spontaneous passion. Good thing that Adrianne is ready to overthrow her practical reputation in favor of something wild and unpredictable.

3-0 out of 5 stars Three good stories
These three stories revolve around three women and an annual new years party thrown by a Choo-esque shoe designer. The short stories were VERY short, there was little time to develop the characters into people with whom the reader could relate. It was as hot as one would expect from a Harlequin Blaze title, but overall it struck me as a little too "Sex In The City" wannabe. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars terrific blazing ending
In San Francisco child advocate attorney Michaela Corelli joins her two friends Lauren Massey and Rosy Constable on a lock and key party (for the pals' tales see ON THE LOOSE BY Shannon Hollis and SLOW RIDE by Carrie Alexander). To Mikki's shock her former husband Nolan Baker is at Painter's Cove Resort too.Stunning her even further, Nolan informs Mikki they are still married as the lawyer she selected to handle her divorce was disbarred before the filing.

Though he knows he has a death wish, Nolan still loves Mikki and plans to get back into her life. However, though she enjoys the sex and seems to love him too, Mikki refuses to engage in anything after the resort. She admits to herself she owes Nolan the truth but is too cowardly to reveal her shame preferring to dim it with alcohol.

The third tale in the Lock and Key trilogy is a terrific ending that stars an intriguing individual who was a victim as a child albeit her profession, but the adult still hides in shadows out of fear.Mikki is not very likable yet the audience will feel deeply for her and pray that somehow Nolan can reach her.Jamie Denton provides a powerful tale that is more than just an inferno under the covers, but is an insightful realistic look at how crippling sexual abuse received as a child terrorizes the adult.

5-0 out of 5 stars OOOH MY GOSH
This is the first book of Holly Jacobs that I've read...and I'm telling you, I'm a definite fan for life. I was at a low in life and was reading this story in the bathtub and started laughing so are I almost drowned myself. She had fabulous characters and the most terrific sense of humor. I'm hooked!

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny!Heartwarming!
This is a terrific book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sure you will, too!

4-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful length for light reading
"Making Mr. Right" was the lesser of these two stories in that it went all too easily, and clothes were all there was to making the man. I got the impression at times that surface was all that mattered, when I'm sure the author didn't mean that; she just didn't have enough room to deal with other matters. Also, the misogynist atmosphere of the office: I was rooting for someone, hopefully the heroine, to take those boys to court for sexual discrimination! No one should have to work in those kinds of conditions. So in all, though this book had a good situation and interesting characters and a lot of good chemistry (sometimes that chemistry was too drawn out), it was a little too fluffy and surface for my tastes. But I look forward to more by the author.

"I Waxed My Legs for This?" sounds too much like the country song, but it was the better story with a lot of humor. Nicely-turned characters, great magnetism, and keep your hanky at the ready. Just the right length for this format.

5-0 out of 5 stars Denton and Jacobs are great!
I loved this Duet!Jamie Denton and Holly Jacobs sure know how to make you laugh. Both books were pure delight.Bravo, ladies!I can't wait to read more by both talented authors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Denton and Jacobs make an awesomely talented team!
MAKING MR RIGHT by Jamie Denton: It takes more than a good plot to come up with an engaging tale. When you gather up two charming characters, a large dash of tantalizing narration, some insightful descriptions, a healthy splash of sizzling sexual tension, and an author with a great sense of humor, you have all the ingredients for a fascinating story. Now just give it a light stir and let them work their magic. The result? An entertaining and utterly delightful story like Jamie Denton's MAKING MR RIGHT!

Ms Denton's warm personality shines through brightly in her latest offering to her fans.MAKING MR RIGHT is an immensely enjoyable story with an adorable hero. For all his `geekishness', Simon had me hooked from the moment he made his appearance in Jaycee's broom closet, er, sorry, office.

One of my favorite scenes in MAKING MR RIGHT involves spilt wine, plenty of postage stamps and Simon's large bed!I couldn't decide if I wanted to turn up the air-conditioning or double over laughing.Jamie Denton has proved true to form once more by penning a truly captivating story with lively, colorful and humorous characters that leave a lasting impression.

MAKING MR RIGHT has all the panache for a vivacious and amusing romance and I'd recommend it as a must read to all lovers of romantic comedy!

I WAXED MY LEGS FOR THIS? by Holly Jacobs:I WAXED MY LEGS FOR THIS? is an absolutely delightful tale.Holly Jacobs has penned a hilarious story with rich lively characters that will have readers laughing right to the very end!

I adored Carrie; here is a heroine with plenty of spunk, a delicious sense of humor and a daring sense of adventure.Carrie has had Jack wrapped around her little finger ever since she moved in next door to him as a child. No wonder she actually got him to sift through her puppy's 'byproducts' for the class ring the dog had accidentally swallowed. So expecting him to rush over from work just to pull wax strips off her legs is nothing.

Holly Jacobs has presented readers of romantic comedy with a story they shall not soon forget.Crammed with plenty of hilarious moments and loaded with enough sexual tension to knock your socks off, this is truly an enchanting tale. Ms Jacobs' exceptional talent for penning extremely humorous and captivating romances is clearly evident in I WAXED MY LEGS FOR THIS?

For all lovers of romantic comedy, I WAXED MY LEGS FOR THIS? is simply a must read!

Packed full of humor, plenty of steamy heat and lots of electrifying sexual tension, this book will leave a smile lingering on your face long after you've turned the last page. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars more intrigue than romance
Jamie Denton has written a great story about FBI agent Jared Romine, who has been framed for a double murder. He's been on the run for three years, but now his ex-lover, Justice Department attorney Peyton Douglas, is also implicated in the crimes. With the two of them on the run, romance is sure to be rekindled as they try to clear their names in the high level conspiracy.

While the romantic sections did live up to Blaze standards, there were very few of them in the book. With the amount of time Jared and Peyton spent on the run,you would have expected much more to happen between the two of them.

Seduced by the Enemy has an intricate plot that advances at a steady pace and rises to an exciting climax. It seemed, however, that you were reading a Harlequin Intrigue or Intimate Moments book rather than a Blaze.Definitely recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Harlequi Intrigue (instead of Blaze)
It reads like a Intrigue series novel...a lot of suspense...no SEXY stuff till the 2nd half of the book...BUT it is still good writing...so now I have to go back and read SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY.

4-0 out of 5 stars Be seduced.
While maintaining the blazing heat factor, seasoned Harlequin author Jamie Denton has penned a textured romance with heart and fuses it with intricate suspense. Seduced by the Enemy focuses on Jared Romine, rogue ex-FBI who is linked to the murder of his partner Jack Dysert and aide to hot-shot senator Martin Phipps. When Peyton Douglas, his cherished ex-flames gets embroiled in a scam to suggest that she is fraudulent of pocketing the money that Jared was rumoured to have taken, he steps in after a 3-year hiding to save both of their lives. Passion sears between the lovers but it is the exquisite tenderness that makes this romance exceptional. Peyton braves through a thwarted pregnancy and wrestles with mistrust, insecurity and a proposal from an amorous suitor when she obviously has feelings for Jared. There is passion and complexed emotions which touches real feelings. Despite the hot melting sex, it is Denton's sincere characters that makes this short read devastating in its scale.

5-0 out of 5 stars Blazes Hot!
I have been burned by the Blaze Queen! At least one of them. And, my Romance reading friends, this is a good thing!Whew...Jamie Denton knows how to light a fire no holds barred.I dove in not knowing what to expect from my first Harlequin Blaze.I figured on hot, but got an inferno! She gives us a daring character accused of a double murder for a hero in Jared Romine. And who is among those accusing him?Peyton Douglas, his soul mate.As a matter of fact, she is the one who turned him in.What's that you say?His love, his soul mate, his life's desire turned on him.Yep.That's what I said.

Peyton Douglas is a young lawyer with trust issues who fought long and hard for the life she finally has.A life where she is safe.Jared is an ex-FBI agent on the run.Has been on the run for three long years, ever since Peyton turned him in.But those who are after him know his weakness. His women. They have already killed one that he loved and are now trying to use Peyton to draw him out. However, Jared is one step ahead of the mysterious them and kidnaps Peyton before they can cause any permanent damage. Not only does he have to protect her from the murderers who framed him, but has to win her trust.A task that may be harder to accomplish than proving his innocence while on the run.

During his long absence, Peyton agrees to marry someone else and sports the diamond to prove it.She is sure that her fiancé is just what she needs to keep her safe, comfortable, and happy.A reasonable, respected man who is career oriented and climbing the ladder of success with little stumbling, Leland Atwood would not abandon her in the throes of emotional trauma. He'd be steadfast and a sure thing. He would be IF Jared hadn't shown back up in her safe, happy little world. Now she has to choose between a "beige" relationship with Leland or one that is "red hot sexy" with Jared. But "red hot sexy" has lots of potential for emotional destruction whereas "beige" assures her of sound emotional well-being. Having been emotionally destroyed once in her young life causes her to lean heavily towards the safe, "beige" life that Leland offers.

While she makes up her mind, gun-slinging, senator-corrupted, FBI-agents-gone-bad are hot on their trail, narrowing the chances to better than good that Romine and his ladylove will be stopped before the two fugitives let the truth out of the bag.The truth that will clear both of them and just may allow them to start fresh.Whether they will be starting fresh with each other or not remains to be seen, at least until the very end.

In the midst of all this being-hunted-down angst, these two can't keep their hands, or tongues, or . . . well, they can't keep away from each other.Things happen on over-stuffed chairs by the fireplace that will make your scalp tingle.Oh, and there's a few bedroom scenes, too.I must say, I learned a thing or two about the possibilities of sexual pleasure from these two characters. One of those things is that the possibilities are endless, when you are being seduced by the enemy.

5-0 out of 5 stars I loved this book!
Jamie Denton is a fabulous author, and this book is wonderful. Buy it! Read it! You won't be sorry. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful suspense filled book
The first book I read by this author was The Matchmaker and I loved it.So I decided to try another mystery/suspense book by her. Remain Silent did not disappoint. My only disappointment with the book was that I felt the ending was rushed a bit. I don't feel like I got a thorough explanation of the whole "Institute" plot. It is discussed in the end of the book, but I personally felt like after all of the build up about it, the explanation was not suitable (I wanted more). I still feel the book is worth 5 stars since it was wonderfully written and as a reader you really got to know the characters - including the killer. The romance between Damon and Laurel was believable and the sacrifice she made for him years ago was understandable.

I've read the excerpts for her next book Dead Stop and I can't wait for it to come out. Jamie Denton really has found her niche with mystery/suspense/romance novels.

5-0 out of 5 stars terrific romantic legal thriller
In Los Angeles the police arrest art restorer Laurel Jennings and charge her with the murder of her business partner Jonathan Linton. The evidence against Laurel is overwhelming as she had the motive, means and opportunity and her fingerprints are on the murder weapon.

Ex Los Angeles County District Attorney Damon Metcalf returns home to represent his former lover at the bail hearing and subsequently at the trial when no defense lawyer would agree to handle the case.Damon realizes that the powerful Linton family is pushing for her conviction and made it clear to the legal profession to stay out or face the consequences. When someone breaks into Laurel's business facility, Damon fears for her life especially as they begin to uncover an apparent deal Jonathan had arranged that appears nebulous especially with the amount of money exchanged.Soon more homicides follow with Laurel as the prime suspect although she has an alibi, Jonathan and the danger to both of them mounting.

Jamie Denton provides readers with a terrific romantic legal thriller filled with plenty of suspense. The lead couple is a nice pairing as they still love one another and though both agreed to professional and platonic, can't help but jump each other's bones. The whodunit is cleverly devised so that the audience will wonder who and why.Sub-genre fans will not REMAIN SILENT as to how entertaining this tale is.

3-0 out of 5 stars Too Much Story For Too SmallA Format
A burnt-out LAPD detective still getting over the loss of a partner and whose much needed vacation gets cancelled, a DEA agent unwillingly following family tradition and also burdened by the fact that two of her partners have died, an undercover drug investigation taking place in an exclusive honeymoon resort, a unconvictable drug lord, turncoat relatives, lust developing into love between the undercover agents - this was all way too much for a 216 page book. There was so much backstory to both of the main characters that I wondered if this story was part of a series.

The romance was contrived - two gorgeous people masquerading as a honeymoon couple - where have I read that before? It was the standard attraction-to-sexual-tension-to-lust-to-love route, with the current twist that the female protagonist has to be the one to learn to trust her male counterpart rather than the usual male-learning-to-trust-the-female storyline. The author just tried too hard to make Ronnie Carmichael (the DEA agent) a sympathetic character, loading her down with a family legacy, an unreasonable father, two dead partners, a prior Internal Affairs investigation, and lack of respect from her co-workers, among other things.

It was a pleasant little story, but its eroticism was mild (considering its marketing), and the love story was predictable. It's good for a one-time read, but I wouldn't consider it a keeper.

5-0 out of 5 stars Operation: Honeymoon -- Highly recommended
Detective Blake Hammond must cancel his two week vacation in Hawaii to accept an under cover assignment, leaving him feeling outraged. Normally a cool, smooth, together kind of guy, Blake feels frustrated and much in need of some R & R. Tired, overworked, frustrated cops are make mistakes that can be dangerous and deadly. Now he's assigned to assist DEA Ronnie Carmichael who's just the woman to keep his world off kilter and his mind off business. A dangerous combination when their lives depend upon remaining under cover.

Ronnie plans this to be her last assignment, looking forward to escaping the world of designer drugs and false identities. The department's strict fraternization policy forbids emotional involvement with Blake; however, their cover as honeymooners require that they act like a couple in love. Two weeks at Seaport Manor posing as newlyweds will give department non-fraternization rules quite a workout. Living in close, romantic quarters will cause the lines between pretense and reality to merge rather quickly when sexual magnetism keeps drawing them together.

As Blake and Ronnie fight mistakes of the past that overshadow the present, they find themselves irresistibly drawn together. The sensual resort with its romantic overtones provides the perfect background to this wickedly delicious read. Once again author Jamie Denton displays her sensually masterful storytelling skills. The novel reads like one, long, sexy tease of emotions and erotic possibilities, making the necessity of remaining under the covers absolutely delightful. While the ending feels a bit abrupt, the powerful characterizations and naughty sexual play will still leave the reader satisfied. Highly recommended. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A building romance with a clever perk...a mystery!
Maggie was saved by Cale, trapped in a burning paint warehouse. She has no identification. She also holds no idea as to why she was there, how the fire started, or...who she is. As her physical status nears release from the hospital, Maggie is faced with an empty future and possibly a mental-based facility until she
recovers her memory. Cale, the caring and sexy paramedic, offers another choice...and takes her in, in to his house filled with strays, a hallmark of his life. But Maggie is a different case, a different damsel in distress. She's more to him, instantly shocking him...especially as the attraction is mutual.
Finding out who Maggie truly is, becomes quite a wonderful mystery packed in this romance. Cale and Maggie make a great pair, struggle with what they strongly feel for each other, and how they should react with Maggie's true identity standing in between. What if she's married? What if she's wanted by the law? Did she start the fire? How long will she suffer her memory loss?

It is no wonder this author is a Rita Award nominee. Her style
is fresh, teasing, and very much the stuff that makes sensual romance great! The other books to this trilogy are not dependent
on this title, the trilogy is based on rescue workers. And this tale, hot stuff!

4-0 out of 5 stars heated tale
Maggie LaRue suffers amnesia, not able to recall her name or why or how she ended up trapped by a fire in an abandoned paint warehouse. In fact her first memory is the arms of the hunk that rescued her.Her second thought was how she feels so safe in his arms and for that matter whenever she is near her hero paramedic Cale Perry.

Cale provides Maggie a place to live while she recovers her memory. He finds having her around is not easy on his libido as he wants her and believes she feels the same way too. However, both worry what will happen when she remembers her life before Cale to include possibly a husband and a family.

Though readers will question Cale's altruism in providing a refuge for Maggie, fans will enjoy this hot entry as the couple burns up the pages even when they just talk. The story line delivers a heated tale, but it is the growing relationship between the lead duo as the pair struggles with desire and love and fear when they learn the truth about Maggie.Book one of Jamie Denton's "Some Like It Hot" trilogy is a strong opening gamut.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Are romance publishers pushing a new theme these days? The theme of the adult male who blames his inability to commit to a defective gene. Do these editors and publishers have inside information to the map of the human genome? Let's get this straight: infideltiy is caused by defective jeans, NOT defective genes. To insinuate otherwise is to assume the reader does not know the difference.

Cooper Wilde believes he has defective DNA. Maybe he does, but it certainly is not the cause of his commitment worries. Yes, his mother and uncle seem to have a problem with sticking to one significant other and based on this, Cooper decides his is also so-fated. Enter Carly Cassidy.

Tired of being good, within the space of a couple of days, Carly's left her bridegroom at the alter, wandered into a strange bar, drunk herself senseless and `falls in love' with the bar owner, Cooper Wilde, all in the name of making it on her own. I would have to question her common sense, given the danger she puts herself into. I found Cooper, with his "we'll have sex, but I can't commit" attitude and Carly with her frequently uttered, "Sweet Mary" to be irritating people. I thought that her attempt to mentally recite the Beatitudes with Cooper biting her ear was inappropriate, even though she's the daughter of a minister. When they finally do have sex, it's unprotected! At this point, I finished the book, but quit caring what, if anything, happened to them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Quick Read
Back from RULES OF ENGAGEMENT is character Carly Cassidy. After leavingDean standing at alter and a church full of family members, Carly's carbreaks down in Chicago. It's late and the sound of a tavern attracts her.She decides to go in and call a wrecker. Once there, her life takes on anew turn. It's out with old, in with the new. All the rules she was onceruled by, the same rules that almost had her making a drastic mistake, arereplaced by her own rules, and it's here that Carly learns what it's reallylike to have control of her own life, and what it's like to reallyexperience love.

Cooper Wilde runs The Wilde Side, a tavern. When afairy princess dressed in a wedding dress walks into his bar, the sixthsense he gained as a Navy Seal tells him she's trouble with a capital T. One look into her unusual eyes and all those who meet her are captured byher innocence. Marty Davis, Coop's father figure, warns Coop of what healready knows, but it's too late for bikers Benny and Joe who have fallenhard and become her personal bodyguards.

When Carly turns to Coop forhelp, she in turn tries to help him with his failing business by coming upwith a wild idea. It's interesting to say the least. Carly also learns whathappened after she left the wedding when her sister Brenda shows up. WhenCarly realizes there is a part of Coop she can't have, she's off again.

Ilove the way Jamie Denton includes a familiar rule concerning how to be alady at the top of each chapter, because as the story plays out the readercan see how Carly must make up her own rules in order to be happy. Will sheend up happy or running from another failed relationship? Breaking TheRules is a bold, sizzling romance of a woman who, in a moment of sanepanic, bravely steps out to find what life really has in story for her.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sizzling With Sensuality!
Breaking The Rules is the sequel to Jamie Denton's Rules of Engagement. Like it's predecessor, Breaking The Rules is a fast paced page turner. Thebook sizzles with sensuality and is full of snappy dialogue, and a hero toend all romance heroes.

Carly Cassidy is breaking rules left and rightand developing her own laws of life along the way.Her goal, to break outand taste life on her own terms and for once in her life, stop living herlife according to the dictates of her family and friends.

Cooper Wilde,a former Navy SEAL is struggling to keep his runaway uncle's Chicago tavernfrom going bankrupt. The last thing he needs is a fairy princess withtrouble on her mind in the bar, but trouble he gets and a whole lot more.Cooper likes his life orderly, Carly is a distraction he can't afford.Hejust might believe that argument if he could keep his hands to himself, butCarly is harder to resist than he imagined.

What sets Breaking The Rulesapart is the characterization.Despite the fun tone of the book, theunderlying conflict between the hero and heroine adds depth and dimensionto a story in a way that only Jamie Denton can write.Once again Ms.Denton gives readers a taste of real people in an outrageous situation andmakes us believe anything is possible on our own terms if we're willing towork for it.

You'll enjoy this walk on the "Wilde" side andwill keep coming back for more.Breaking The Rules gets 5 Hearts on theTuscadero Heart Rate Scale!

5-0 out of 5 stars A delightful read
For twenty-four years, Carly Cassidy was the poster girl for thebest-behaved person on the planet. The preacher's daughter never broke arule until now. Tired of being prim and proper, the Homer, Illinoisresident decides to nuke all the rules, starting with ditching her nicefiancé.

Fleeing to Chicago, the new Carly enters unescorted, for thefirst time in her life, a bar, The Wilde Side. Inside Carly meets CooperWilde, who thinks a fairy princess wandered into his place by mistakeinstead of the nearby church. However, he cannot stop himself fromprotecting Carly from his own patrons and in spite of his wariness hebegins to teach her how to break the rules as only a former Navy SEALcould. In turn, she somehow becomes the instructor, giving Cooper a lessonin love, but will he flunk the course?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Dangerous Game
Bailey Grayson is in Los Angeles from Wisconsin looking for her sister, who is a runaway. She'd hired a private investigator and he'd told her that her sister had been seen with Devon Shore, a pimp, so Bailey is dressed like a hooker, hoping to hook some info, but unknown to her, detective Mason O'Neill is staking out said pimp and when someone tries to force Bailey into his car, O'Neill interferes. He arrests Bailey, but at the station his superiors like her idea of trying to infiltrate the pimps stable. O'Neill, however, isn't happy with the plan.

This is an exciting read, one that had me hooked right from the beginning and kept me glued to my chair. Naturally sparks are zinging back and forth between the detective and the sheep in hooker's clothing. The story steams and it's exciting to boot and I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Flirting with Fire
Emily Dugan is getting over the flu and a hectic assignment at work as she plans on visiting her grandmother, who she calls Grandy, in California. However she is let go because of corporate downsizing and her boyfriend dumps her because he's been cutting the grass in other pastures. So she's not exactly feeling like a million bucks when she gets to Grandy's and finds out by a gorgeous hunk of a fire inspector named Drew Perry, that Grandy is in the hospital.

Drew tells Emily that her grandmother is going to be all right, but that she'd gotten some slight burns in a small fire. Drew is in charge of investigating a series of fires and it's not long before he's interested in investigating Emily as well. And wouldn't you know it, the one thing that can cure a girls blues is a good man, especially a good looking man. And Emily, who has no job or boyfriend, just might be ready for a move and a good man.

Jamie Denton's RULESOF ENGAGEMENT is a highly entertaining book for lovers of romance.Wellwritten and superbly plotted, it is sure to snag the attention of thereaders from the first line and keep them hooked right to the end!

Thedialogue was good with the characters acting and speaking so naturally. Jill's second proposition to Morgan for a "no strings attached" affair cameas a pleasant surprise but yet so true to her "go get `em"personality!

4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable lead-in
Sleeping with the Enemy has Dr. Destiny (Dee) Romine falling for undercover FBI agent Chase Bracken, who has been sent to find Dr. Dee's brother, Jared.Seems Jared is rogue FBI agent, and the Bureau will stop at nothing to apprehend him.Agent Bracken will bend the rules to the point of breaking to solve a case, and bringing in Jared Romine is no different, especially if it means cozying up to his kid sister. But Dr. Dee Romine has had it with the FBI dogging her footsteps for the past 3 years in an effort to find her brother. She can spot an agent a mile away, or so she thought until Chase Bracken comes to town.Dee needs to make some personal and professional decisions throughout the story, and will Chase be able to decide between his need to solve the case and his feelings for Dee, or will there be a way to have both.

There were a few problems with the book, however. The first half (or more) of the book was spent learning about Dee and Chase but not really advancing the plot. Also, with so much time spent explaining how Dee can pick out an FBI agent at the drop of a hat, I found it hard to believe that she would fall for Chase without any questions.

The romance between Dee and Chase sizzles, definitely living up to the Blaze standards. While the book moves along a little slower than one might like, Sleeping with the Enemy is a good lead-in to Jamie Denton's Seducing the Enemy, which concludes Jared Romine's story.

1-0 out of 5 stars Misleading Title
'Sleeping With the Enemy' is a perfect example of not judging a book by its title. I thought it was some sort of marriage guidance manual so I bought copies for my friends Bruce Willis, Charlie Sheen, Eddie Murphy, Kurt Russell and Bill Clinton. Unfortunately, their wives didn't appreciate the goodwill gesture and now I'm banned from the Friday night poker game and sleepover at Bill's place. But I'm kind of relieved. Kurt and I used to freak out when Hillary switched off the nightlight on the dot of 9.30 anyway.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sleeping With The Enemy-Chase and Dee SPOILERS

3-0 out of 5 stars OKAY, BUT ALITTLE REPETITIVE.......
This book was okay, but I found myself wanting to get to the end just to see what happens. The romance was very HOT but the in between stuff left me wanting to skip through parts of the book.
I didn't dislike the book but would suggest a Lori Foster book if you want a good read on this level.

3-0 out of 5 stars Powerful final chapters save this book
Dr. Dee (Destiny) Romine has survived a tough childhood and tougher adulthood. Her brother, a renegade FBI agent, is on the run and the FBI believes that Dee holds the key to his location. They'll stop at nothing to find him, even if it means sending in an agent to bend the rules and break her heart. Agent Chase Bracken doesn't mind bending the rules and he always gets his man. He won't feel good about lying to Dee, but that won't keep him from doing his job. Of course he knows where their relationship will go when Dee finally learns the truth.

SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY lays out a fine conflict and adds the hint of adventure to the sexual intrigue the typifies the Blaze imprint. Unfortunately, the first two thirds of this book are glacial in pace. Both Dee and Chase spend page after page in introspection, remasticating what few events took place in scene. Once Dee and Chase consumate their relationship, author Jamie Denton turns up the heat. Not only do her love scenes sizzle, but the characters start to show a wealth of emotion and connectedness that were missing through the earlier chapters.

It's easy to see why Denton is characterized as a rising star--she can write well. Unfortunately, many readers will have given up on this book before Denton starts to deliver. ... Read more

For weeks, Derek Buchanan has been trying to tell gorgeous leggy pal Sydney Travers that he loves her. And he's planning on seducing her...But even Derek's surprised when one night the soft-hearted veterinarian turns to him for comfort - and they have the most incredible sex!

The Secret...

Sydney is shocked - Derek is her best friend, the buddy who's held her hand through a string of disastrous blind dates. Making love was a huge mistake. Now Derek knows all her fantasies and secrets...except the one about wanting a baby on her own. No strings, no commitment.

4-0 out of 5 stars A charming & romantic (!) romance between friends
Sydney Travers is an independent and successful veterinarian who wants a baby to make her life complete. She doesn't want or need a man around because they've only caused her heartache and decides to becomeartificially inseminated. After her procedure she is emotionally strungout and ends up in bed with her best friend Derek. They proceed to act outof character and have unprotected sex three times which, of course, sets upthe conflict when Sydney becomes pregnant.

Before they became intimateDerek had been working up the nerve to tell Sydney that he was in love withher but held his tongue fearing he would lose her friendship. When herpregnancy is confirmed he doesn't care that the baby may not be his andproposes marriage. She does care and flatly refuses.Derek, a scientist, then decides to "woo" her using a scientific approach that hassome funny results.

During his "wooing" Derek proves to be aloving, patient and very persistent guy and I was rooting for him all theway.Sydney takes the "men are scum" bit too far, especiallywhen it is revealed that they've been best friend's for twenty-two yearsbut it was fun watching Derek attempt to win his woman.

I reallyenjoyed The Seduction of Sydney. It was entertaining, sexy and satisfyingand because it was obvious that the couple enjoyed being together and hadmuch more in common than a simple case of lust. And, best of all, it wasexactly what a romance should be:romantic!
