Product Description

Jason Donovan burst onto TV in the 1980s as Scott Robinson from Neighbours, one half of TV couple Scott and Charlene with Kylie Minogue. Kylie and Jason became the celebrity couple of the 1980s and released the number one hit Especially For You in 1988. But behind the squeaky-clean pop star image was a man increasingly addicted to recreational drugs and on a spiraling downwards path until love pulled him through. His pop career launched, Jason went on to sell  more than 30 million records worldwide and appeared in West End musicals such as Joseph and His Technicolor Dreamcoat and, more recently, The Rocky Horror Show. But just as Jason reached the pinnacle of his career, everything collapsed around him. When Jason sued style magazine The Face for calling him gay, the press tore him apart. Years of binge drug taking, and partying to excess followed. In his frank and honest account of his life, Jason talks candidly about the drugs that nearly saw the end of his career, about his relationship with the princess of pop, Kylie Minogue, and how he finally got his own very happy ending with the woman who saved him, his partner Angela, and their two children.

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to Read with a Few Surprises....
Growing up in Australian in the 80s and 90s, Jason Donovan and Neighbours were a staple of my upbringing. I wouldn't say I was a huge fan but I was very curious to see what 'behind-the-scenes' info he would give... To my surprise I found this book to be quite straight forward. Enlighting stories about other Aussie icons (Miss Kylie) and how intense situations have given me a new appreciation for Jason Donovan. I've seen in him the last few years on Australian TV, doing great dramatic work and would recommend anyone curious with Australian Pop Culture from the 80s, any Neighbours fans, any Kylie fans and any Australian TV industry fans to pick this up - it's very good. ... Excerpt: Ten Good Reasons is the debut album by Australian pop star and actor Jason Donovan. Released in 1989, it became the biggest selling album in the UK that year, and yielded two solo #1 singles ("Too Many Broken Hearts" and "Sealed with a Kiss") and also featured a duet with Kylie Minogue, "Especially for You", which had reached #1 in January 1989. The album entered the charts at number two, and then reached number one, staying there for three weeks. When his cover of Brian Hyland's "Sealed With a Kiss" entered the UK charts at number one, Donovan became the first Australian male to ever hold both UK single and UK album chart number one positions simultaneously. The title of the album is taken from a line in its first track: "You give me one good reason to leave me, I'll give you ten good reasons to stay." Excerpt: "Especially for You" was the fifth international single released from singer Kylie Minogue in time for the Christmas 1988 market and is a duet with Jason Donovan. It did not appear on her debut album but was included on Jason Donovan's 1989 debut album Ten Good Reasons. The track did appear on the US version of Kylie Minogue's second album Enjoy Yourself. The single was released on November 28, 1988 and was written by Stock Aitken Waterman. Its strongest market was the UK, where its release followed the on-screen wedding of the two actors' respective characters, Charlene and Scott, on the Australian soap Neighbours which brought peak audiences. In the UK, the song lodged for 4 weeks at #2 during the Christmas market behind Cliff Richard (a Christmas fixture) reaching #1 for 3 weeks in early 1989, selling just shy of one million copies. It remained Minogue's best selling single in the UK until 2001's "Can't Get You out of My Head" which became a million seller. The single was a big hit throughout Europe and sold 23,037 copies in Sweden. Excerpt: Michael Lucas (born Andrei Treivas, March 10, 1972, Moscow, Russia) is an American gay pornographic actor, director and the founder/CEO of Lucas Entertainment, New York's largest gay-adult-film company. In 2004, Lucas was sworn in as a citizen of the United States, where he lives in New York City. The New Republic dubbed Lucas "Gay Porn's Neocon Kingpin", and the New York City media have called him the "Lion of Chelsea" and the "last of the New York porn moguls". He contends that his film Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita is the most expensive gay porn film ever made, with a budget of $250,000 and multiple celebrity cameos. In 2009, Lucas was inducted into the GayVN Hall of Fame, noted for "his stature as an A-list director and performer". He was included in a 2009 New York magazine feature about people who made it to the top, but arrived to the city with very little. Lucas is particularly well-known for his activism and outspokenness. His criticism of drug use and his sponsorship of public service ad campaigns about the dangers of unprotected sex in the gay community led Harvey Fierstein to interview him for The Advocate. Growing up, Lucas experienced the antisemitism of the Soviet Union, which led him to form a strong connection with his Jewish identity and the state of Israel. This connection is the foundation of a worldview that has attracted controversy. His New York Blade columns on Ultra-Orthodox Judaism and Islam sparked a campus debate at Stanford University in February 2008 when Lucas was invited to give a speech to students. In 2009, Lucas released the film Men of Israel, which ...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=19337374 ... Read more

Product Description
Legends speak of a time before history, of a great island empire whose people wielded powerful magic and technology, ruling much of the world. Their pride proved their undoing, and Atlantis sank beneath the sea in a single night.

Twilight of Atlantis is a sourcebook detailing this once-great people, drawn from the writing of Plato. New races such as the Bastai cat-warriors and the Atlanteans appear, new prestige classes (Artificer, Orphean, Resonant, Spellbane) and six new feats to use with them. A whole new approach to magic - that of the resonance, powered by the mystical metal orichalcum - is provided, with 10 new spells. Join the adventure today, attempting to overthrow or rescue Atlantis' great empire. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not to my expectations...
Well, on the overall, this d20 game supplement isn't a bad product, but it's not what I would have liked to get. This Atlantis is described as to fit with the Classical Greek period (Plato was the first to speak about Atlantis). As such, you get an history of Atlantis, new character races, 4 new prestige classes, a few skills /feats /spells /etc. making this product an excellent supplement if you want to run a campaign set in ancient Greece, and/or Egypt. In such a setting, Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes, etc. would be ridiculous; so you would get a good alternative with the races given in this booklet, which fit well in that kind of mythology.
However, as far as I am concerned, I was deceived by Twilight of Atlantis. I would have liked to get something more futuristic (of the tech-magic kind; reminding of the last Disney movie), and not related to ancient Greeks. If this is what you would also like to get, this supplement won't be up to your expectations. ... Read more
