Excerpt: Graham Cyril Kennedy, AO (15 February 1934 25 May 2005) was an Australian radio, television and film performer, often called "Gra Gra" (pronounced "grah-grah") and "The King" of Australian television. Kennedy was born in Camden Street, Balaclava to Cyril William Kennedy and Mary Austen Kennedy (née Scott). His mother, who was 18 years old at the time of his birth, was employed at a local picture theatre. Need the book
Dame Edna is wonderful, but she reads the book.What's wrong with that?The Olivia books rely on funny pictures as a part of the narrative and if you are simply listening to someone read them, no matter how well, you miss much of the story and much of the humor.For this format they should have been rewritten so that what happens in the pictures is described to the listener.Very disappointing, and kind of a ripoff.

I purchased this product in order to teach a youngster to read.WE USED IT EVERY DAY FOR SEVERAL WEEKS.We READ ALONG WITH IT.AS WE SAT NEXT TO EACH OTHER POINTING TO THE WORDS in the approrpriate book and listening to the cd it became quite an enjoyable way of learning to read.The child adored Olivia books and within several weeks of our daily reading in conjunction to the use of the Cd he was off and running.If you want this cd it is definitely worth purchasing.

it is excellent for kids who are just starting to read. also, for non english speakers kids, to start learning english almost as their mother tongue.

Wonderful Audio CD
My son LOVES the Olivia books, therefore we love this CD.I think we enjoy it more because we have read all of the books, "know" Olivia's sense of humor, and can picture the beautiful illustrations from the books, whereas children who have not read the books might miss some of the story since many times the humor is found in how the story is tied to the illustrations.It is frequently requested during car rides or while falling asleep at night by my 3 year old.It is relatively short, but I believe it actually contains all of the "real" Olivia books.Keep in mind, these go with the books, not the Olivia television show.
