Terribly disappointed in Amazon and the seller "lectroei"
I purchased this VHS video in good faith from Amazon via merchant named lectroei. It was needed for my professional work as a theatre director. I never received the product, I e mailed them twice via Amazon and notified Amazon as well of this situation and no one has ever gotten back to me.They did process my VISA however and they have been paid for it! I am terribly disappointed in how both Amazon and their merchant "lectroei" have handled this situation. Is there a human being at Amazon I can talk to about this or is the whole world a computer? ... Read more

Great Story but not so good illustrations
This is a great story, but the problem with this story is that the illustrations don't quite catch the mood of the story, in my opinion anyway. The illustrations are bizarre in some ways while the mood is so tone down and mellow. This would have been a great story if it wasn't for the illustrations.

Absolutely enchanting!
My children love this recording and take turns playing "Brer Rabbit" and "Brer Fox." I am personally enthralled by Danny Glover's masterful reading of this story. It is easy to imagine yourselfaround a fire alongside a slow moving river while you are listening.

Aresounding well-done to everyone who put this one together!

If you have ever heard the record of the story available around the 1950s,you will be very disappointed with this version.The music isinappropriate and intrusive.The story is shortened.What I bought thetape for was to hear the accents of the area in which the story wascollected, the strong accents of the south.The story was narrated bysomeone with almost no accent at all, and certainly not the lovely, uniqueaccents of that area. ... My preschooler loved this, and so did I!
I loved the Brer Rabbit stories when I was a young girl, and I wanted to share it with my preschooler, so when I came across this Rabbit Ears audio CD at the local library, I was eager to get my daughter to listen to it. Danny Glover's narration of the two stories here captures the essence of the stories - in "Brer Rabbit and the Wonderful Tar Baby", the narration is rather sedate. Brer Fox is tired of being tricked by Brer Rabbit's pranks, and so creates a tar baby for Brer Rabbit to run into. The music by Taj Mahal has a soulful quality. In "Brer Rabbit and Boss Lion", Danny Glover's narration is more energetic in line with the story of how Brer Rabbit teaches the bullying and mean-spirited Boss Lion a lesson. The music here is by Dr. John.

The Rabbit Ears series are generally entertaining though some of the titles did not appeal to me mainly in terms of the voices used in the narration, but this particular CD was fun to listen to.

In "Brer Rabbit and the Wonderful Tar Baby," Danny Glover narrates the story in a calm manner about how Brer Rabbit is fooled by a tar baby that Brer Fox had set up for him after Brer Rabbit played once too many tricks on Brer Fox.Taj Mahal's music in this story is calm and soulful as he mainly plays the music with a guitar.

In "Brer Rabbit and Boss Lion," Brer Rabbit tries to outfox Boss Lion, who becomes a major threat to all the residents of Brer Village when he keeps on eating up all the residents.Danny Glover narrates this story with such vigor and energy that the story is exciting to listen to and Dr. John's blues music makes this story fun to listen to.

This audio CD will surely delight anyone who is a big fan of Danny Glover and is also a big fan of all the Rabbit Ears series.

The Barbi Twins are great
Playboy September 1991 is one-hundred and eighty-six pages. I read most of the articles with the exception of the Playboy's Pro Football Forecast (I am not a football fan), the Interview with Douglas Wilder, and 20 Questions with Danny Glover. The article on Who Made Danny Run? kept me asking who made Dan Quayle run for Vice President. The article most dealt with his grand-father Eugene Pulliam rise to fame in the newspaper industry then the article title. The article\pictorial on Tula; Tula only got one full frontal nude shot from the knees up. September's Playmate of the Month is Samantha Dorman and her pictorial is good. The only times she is nude is two back shots in her pictorial and her centerfold. The only thing that was really great is the Barbi Twins. With the exception of two pictures, they two were nude in all other photos. This issue left me upset a little. Playboy September 1991 gets a B+. ... Read more

His father was a longshoreman , and his mother worked as a seamstress . As a young man, Broussard had various part-time jobs including selling shoes and working in a canning plant. He financed his own education, first at San Francisco City College , then UC Berkeley and finally Boalt Hall School of Law . While at Boalt, he was Vice-President of the Boalt Hall Law Students Association. After graduating in 1953, he served in the United States Army for two years. After leaving the Army, he became the research attorney for Presiding Justice Raymond Peters . As chairman of a civic organization called Men of Tomorrow he contacted the program director, Odessa, of the radio station KSAN seeking free air time. He went on to marry her in 1959 and they had two sons, Keith and Craig. He was the first African-American to be elected President of the California Judges Association (1972).
