Beautiful Book with Invaluable Content
Of all of Newmarket's wonderful series of Pictorial Moviebooks, this one is my favorite.The sidebars identifying many of the "real people" who appear in the film are helpful, but the best part is the side-by-side comparison of the paintings & the moments in Frida's life which inspired them.The wedding sequence is especially illuminating: the scene from the shooting script, the stills of Frida [Salma Hayek] examining herself in the mirror in her lace wedding gown, & the picture of the actual wedding painting all combine to reveal Frida's essential self-invention.

If you loved this film, you will definitely want THIS book which supplements BOTH the film & the Herrera biography.

Book is just OK
This book isgreat information for someone who doesn't much at all about hair.The author breaks things down pretty well. He goes into some detail about cutting, color and extensions.
I was really hoping that this book was just on upstyles.There areonly a few in the back but that are pretty informative.

It wasn't as detailed and didn't have as much hair styles to practice as I thought it would.

Only onechapter covered hair styling techniques.

Not saying it was bad, it was a lot of fun to read and pretty imformative about the basics of hair but if you're looking to get a book just on hair styling than put this one on hold..

You will need to have some basic skills at hair styling in order to do the hair styles.

It was fairly a good book just wish it had morehair styles to learn and practice.

I would still recommended it for any one that is into hair styling or wants to get better.

Doesn't get any better than this!
I am a professional hairstylist, and I own many many books on hairstyling. Out of all of the books I own, I have to say that this book is BY FAR the very best book on the subject. It's a great book for stylists wanting to become freelance stylists and work in film or print; It's great for salon stylists who need a little more education on styling hair (maybe for Brides, etc.); and it's also fantastic for the average person just trying to learn ways to style their own hair. Robert makes it look so easy (even though I know it's not always as easy as it looks!). However, compared to most of the books out there, all of these styles are do-able. The best part of it for me, is that Robert Vetica comes across not only as a fantastic, talented artist, but a kind, humble man as well.I highly recommend anyone who is interested in this book to get it!You won't find anything better!!!
