Product Description
They called themselves Seawolves . . .
The men of SEALs, PBRs, and SF called them saviors . . .

Created in 1967, the HAL-3 helicopter squadron--aka Seawolves--provided quick-reaction close air support to SEALs, PBR River Rats, and Special Forces advisers and their troops. During the five years of the unit's existence, the seven detachments of Seawolves amassed stunning statistics: 78,000 missions, 8,200 enemy kills, 8,700 sampans sunk, and 9,500 structures destroyed. These 200 men collected a total of 17,339 medals.

This is the story of one of those men. . . .

Taking enemy fire while braced against the rocket pod of a Huey gunship and shooting an M-60 freehand in 110 mph winds was just part of Dan Kelly's job in Vietnam. As a gunner in the all-volunteer Seawolves, he served with distinction until three bullets bought him a trip home. Here is his amazing story of the Seawolves--a harrowing tale of unsung heroism and undaunted courage in combat.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm no expert
First, I was a "black shoe" (engineer) not an air-dale. While I did work with and knew members of HAL-3 DET 9, I am no expert in helicopter combat. Still, I will take "als932" to task for what I am sure is an innocentlymistaken comment. In fact the book does specifically point out that later model UH-1 gun-ships do have more firepower and loiter time. The author points this out and credits US Army helicopters with coming to their assistance when they were attempting to rescue a downed Seawolf.

As I served eight years eleven months including one "West Pac" and two tours in country in the US Navy before switching to the US Army NG where I retired, I appreciate books like this one that do give credit and acknowledgment to the other branches. One major point that the author makes is that whether it was Seals, SF, River Rats, 9th ID, Navy aviation, Army aviation or ARVN, we were on the same team and worked together.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best...
Disregard the brain-dead, jealous comments of als 932; this is one of the best books of its kind on the Vietnam war. Period. Thank you Mr. Kelly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment
This book isn't very good. The author tends to exaggerate the situations he encounters. His emphasis that he is there because of his choice gets tiresome really quick. His believe that God was helping him kill the enemy is the same type of thinking terrorists use to justify their murders. There are many other better books on helicopter combat in Vietnam such as Dustoff or Low Level Hell. Stay away from this one it is only good as kindling.

5-0 out of 5 stars Al Server?
Boat? What boat -- I find Kelly's accounts 1% inflated and 99% accurate -- Having flown for several tours as a door gunner in HAL(3) - AND having FIRST HAND knowledge of the air cav - I can only guess that "AlServer" must be the younger brother of a REAL AIR CAV gunner/crewchiefand took every one of his older brothers war stories and ran them throughhis non-combatant imagination -- If the reason to write a book and put iton the open market is to then SELL the book --then Kelly has hit the markwith his cutting edge wit and his honest portrayal of HIS experiences --The market for a dry tale of dusty wet drudgery interupted by moments ofsheer terror and war time humor is much better in its truth than your poorattempt at reviewing something it seems you know nothing about -- a certainauthor of a casual tale - Rogue Warrior - would be interested in your viewpoint about SEALS and Seawolves-- why don't you tell him in your review ofHIS book that he is just a "TALL ARVN" -- Kellys book is anexcellent example of OUR expiernces -I applaud him --- "Stretch"-Det 71967'68'69 --

2-0 out of 5 stars Ok, but.....
More Navy propoganda! While everyone who saw them will agree that the seawolves were good, they were only playing Cavalry. Just as we always considered the SEALs to be tall ARVNs, we in the AIR Cavalry alwaysconsidered the Seawolves part of the ARVN air force. They were adefensive/reative force, we in the Army air cavaly were the offensiveforce. Book doesn't mention that because the seawolves had to operate offof boats, they couldn't carry our ammo load and therefore couldn't stay inthe fighting as long as army gunships. If you didn't have to trot alongside your gunship on takeoff because it was overweight with ammo, youcouldn't expect to stay in the fighting very long. OK, book for those whoknow nothing about gunships but not so great for those of us who were onthem. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Refreshing take on Sales!
To many people who have never been in sales -to them - 'sales' is like a pluralized four letter word. Most people remember only their bad experiences with sales people - eg the used car salesperson, the telemarketer who asks 'how are you' with not a flicker of any real interest or the hard core door-to-door scammers.

So it's very refreshing to have someone focus on keeping the integrity in sales and helping keep your personal and business life in balance too.Ray writes eloquently about the ideal traits of a salesperson, the one who wants to wake up and be proud of what they do - which is to be in sales and be the kind of salesperson that customers respect and respond to - not out of fear- but out of admiration as making it a win-win-win situation for all involved is what it's all about.

Ray tells a heart warming story about how and why he got OUT of the car selling business and I think this book and all it's principles in it came out of that experience. He does use Biblical quotes to emphasize points that he's making but it proves that old proverbs and adages are still being used - because they are still applicable today as they were a century ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's all about Integrity!
Highly Recommended & well thought out. This has helped me advance my sales career. ... Read more

Product Description
Spells are willful little things. Once uttered, they can take on a life of their own, and that's usually when the trouble begins…

The spell that love casts is transformational. These nine m/m/f ménage stories are about the bonds that go beyond words, and to places no one expects.

In "Bad Hoodoo," BA Tortuga demonstrates the perils of playing diva in voodoo country. "Play Music, Play Magic" by Maia Strong relates the gentler side of a witch's power as she celebrates her homecoming. Sometimes, though, a witch is not enough--in "The Antithesis of Magic," JL Merrow shows how all the pieces must come together for magic to truly bind. Nor is a witch's magic always benevolent, as the lovers find out in "Ironheart," by Shea Meier. And in CC Bridges' "The Shore House," there is no witch at all--only her wisdom to guide a novice hand.

Some lovers, too, are inherently magical. Sylphs and undines are simply themselves in Penelope Friday's "The Birth of the Year," while Titania's crew raises their usual mayhem in Giselle Renarde's "Midsummer Morning Woods." In "The Winter King," by Kathryn Scannell, ancient gods manifest for their worshippers. Finally, in "Sleeping With Monsters," Kiernan Kelly looks at the spell itself to find the magic there. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommend!
I'm usually not much for regency romances, but this story made me fall in love with the period all over again. Author Kelly Kirch brings much to this tale with her engaging characters and awesome storyline.

The opening of the story introduces you to the spirted heroine, Ester Richmond, and her three best friends: Caroline, Marie and Penelope. Ester has a major problem... her father has arranged her marriage. In an effort to find out more about her betrothed--and perhaps even terminate the engagement, the ladies concoct a plan that involves the heroine masquerading as a lord.

However, just when all seems to be going well and the plan sucessful, Caroline's brother, Marcus, Earl of Rochester, comes in. And he knows something is up. Throw in some twists like blackmail, hidden family secrets, and other sordid affairs, and you'll find yourself up all night reading this book through to the end.

Much praise to the author for a wonderful read, and I look forward to the next book in the series! ... Read more

Product Description

Since the beginning of time there has been a battle between good and evil. Evil has manifested itself in many ways throughout history but its goal has always been the same- to consume as many souls as possible. For some, evil is a way of life, embraced in a way that shocks and terrifies. It has been said that the only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men to sit back and do nothing. For some, this is not an option.

This book is the true-life story of one man who sets out on a mission to destroy the footholds of evil within his community. You will walk step-by-step through the entire suspenseful journey. What starts as a plan to gather information soon turns into a long complex spiral into the dark world of white supremacy. Defined as domestic terrorism, these groups walk a fine-line, hell bent on the ultimate destruction of anything "non-white or pure." Domestic terrorist groups, like their bigger brother, always use a key strategy in their twisted ambition- fear. Through reading this book, you will learn that fear is a tool of evil. This tool will only work if it allowed to by its intended victim. Understanding this principal, along with the learning of your enemy's weaknesses, will lead to victory over the oppression of evil.

While some very serious risks, including death, existed for this man and his mission, faith in God was his one strength to overcome fear. God will always triumph. This book is one such story of triumph and success. It is also a learning tool for others to defend their peaceful way of life. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very important read
I have just finished reading this book and decided to post a review because of how pleased I was with this book. I read the description on the author and the book just above the posted reviews.
I was shocked to read the two reviews that placed this book in a negative view. I was able to understand what was written in the description section and also what was written in the book. For all others reading these reviews, please disregard the previous two. I have no idea where they are comming from. The author is a female from Toronto, nor does she have pro-gun beliefs. Mike is the main character in the book, is in PA, and has pro-gun views, not the author. I was able to understand this in the first few pages of the book. If somone can't pick that up I think their opinion is insignificant.
The book is very eye opening and unlike some other people I think what was done in that situation was required and any threat needs to be challenged. The white supremacists were targeting the youth of the community and if somebody doesn't take that very seriously and think that requires action isn't much of a human being in my eyes.
This book was very well written and the story was incredible. To see Mike's journey into the belly of the beast and remain for so long and still hold his values and follow through with everything he planned is incredible. It really shows the strength in the human will to fight evil and stand up for what's right.
I'm not much of a reader but I found it very hard to put this book down. After every page I was anxious to know what was going to happen on the next and I wasn't disappointed.
I highly, highly reccomend this book to anybody who is interested in hatecrimes or anykind of social injustices and also to those who have any moral beliefs and would stand up to protect themselves and their rights.

3-0 out of 5 stars worth reading but...
First let me say that this book is interesting in that it gives a very closeview to the actual existences of the people who live in these groups. You find out that their lives are just one sad contradiction after another. Sure the government is a corrupt organization run by "jewish conspirators," but hey no problem getting a check from one those "zoggiiissst." I myself do not judge anyone on social assistance, most of us have experienced hard times, however, it bothers me when these yoyos slam everything but take when it suits them. The characters all hit me as needy as well. But I digress. The book I think is important not because it tells exciting horific tales of hooded klansman victimizing communitiesbut because it exposes how inept and miniscule they really are. The book also follows a different style that I did not think would work, but strangely it does. It follows allot of email and chat room back and forth. Strange, but must admit, it did work. The thing that really anoyed me about this book however, is that the book is imbued with fundamentalist christian speak reflecting the author's religious beliefs. At one point you almost get the idea that it is one of those books meant to convert, not to educate.
To conclude, the author does a good job of exposing what the lives of children trapped in these families is like. Heartbreaking messed up stuff. The book is worth reading, written by a courageous guy but you have to get over the author's obvious religious and pro-gun beliefs.

1-0 out of 5 stars "Big Ego" chases little shadows
This book is an exciting read if you know little about white supremacist groups or are unable to read a text critically. For those not so handicapped, however, the glaring flaw at the heart of "White Supremacy" is immediately apparent. It is clear from start to finish that the author and his stated motivations are simply not to be accepted at face value.

The author (former military, former Sheriff's officer, and former patriot militia member) moved from suburban New Jersey to rural Pennsylvania to leave behind "the wrong kind of people." Upon hearing that white supremacists had distributed leaflets in a neighboring county, his first reaction was to get into contact with and infiltrate a recently established branch of the Aryan Nations extremist group. Oddly enough given the author's background, he does not approach local authorities or national monitoring groups to find out exactly what is going on. The author's stated motive was to conduct intelligence gathering so that his local community could protect itself against this purportedly dire threat. His actions and statements throughout the book, however, contradict this given premise. It is apparent that he is pursuing an ego trip, pure and simple. He revels in being an undercover operative and is clearly out to destroy an organization he finds offensive, whether it is involved in illegal activities or not. Rather than provide any of the information he is gathering to the local community (as per his stated intentions), the author becomes an official informant for an unnamed private organization.

If the author had bothered to perform even casual research, he would have found that the Aryan Nations was a mere shadow of its former self posing no threat to his community. The local AN group was one man, a computer and a P.O. Box. In the nearly two-year period spanned by this book the AN was almost entirely moribund. Its held a poorly attended meeting and a few small press conferences. It apparently recruited only five new members, at least two of whom were infiltrators. The author's own activities and monetary contributions on behalf of the AN did more to keep it alive than anything else. He even brags egging on AN members to more extreme behavior in hopes of quickening the group's downfall. The local AN leader, desperate for help with his "empire," accepted the author's sincerity at face value and quickly anointed him the group's security chief. The author recognized the threadbare nature of the AN and joked with his handler that he was "head of worldwide security of the great and powerful Aryan Nations".

"White Supremacy" would have been improved by extensive editing. In an attempt to provide the reader with a flavor of his life undercover, the author reproduces numerous lengthy e-mails and electronic chats with other white supremacists. Unfortunately, the messages largely consist of an endless amount of the boring trivialities that comprise everyday existence. Ironically, these messages show white supremacists to be actual human beings and highlight the embarrassing non-functionality of the Aryan Nations organization. Another glaring flaw of "White Supremacy" is the author's use of absurd pseudonyms for many publicly-known white supremacists.

In the book's final chapter, the author congratulates himself for neutralizing the Aryan Nations threat to his corner of Pennsylvania. In fact, no such threat ever existed. The Aryan Nations was "dead on arrival" in Pennsylvania and the author's actions only served as a life-support system for the group. The public revelation of his identity and the subsequent "collapse" of the local AN group was less real than apparent. None of the author's inside information proved to be legally actionable and the Aryan Nations' aspirations finally died the natural death they were denied through the author's witless activism. As a sage mind once observed, there is nothing more dangerous than a concerned citizen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Awesome- A Must Read
This book is an absolutely awesome book. I live in the area, and remember this happening. The book holds one's interest, and you as a reader have great difficulty putting it down. An excerpt:

During the first two months of the year 1844, the greatest possible excitement existed in Dublin respecting the State Trials, in which Mr O'Connell, his son, the Editors of three different repeal newspapers, Tom Steele, the Rev. Mr Tierney a priest who had taken a somewhat prominent part in the Repeal Movement and Mr Ray, the Secretary to the Repeal Association, were indicted for conspiracy. Those who only read of the proceedings in papers, which gave them as a mere portion of the news of the day, or learned what was going on in Dublin by chance conversation, can have no idea of the absorbing interest which the whole affair created in Ireland, but more especially in the metropolis. Nothing ever so strengthened the love of the Irish for, and the obedience of the Irish to O'Connell, as his imprisonment; nothing ever so weakened his power over them as his unexpected enfranchisement. The country shouted for joy when he was set free, and expended all its enthusiasm in the effort. ... Read more
