3-0 out of 5 stars Not so good after the first 30 minutes
I got this movie because I love Disco Dancer and it's by the same director. The first 30 minutes are hilarious but the rest doesn't keep up.The songs are kind of boring, aside from the title song which is "Love, Love, Love" to the tune of Pet Shop Boys "It's a Sin", and a couple are basically the same as two in Disco Dancer with different words. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely AMAZING movie!!
This movie turned me on to Aamir Khan though I've seen him in other movies. Not only is he ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS but he's such a gifted actor. He makes you feel Sanjay's grief but also makes you laugh and go "awwww" in the scenes recounting Sanjay's relationship with Kalpana.Asin, who plays Kaplana is great in this movie as well. There are so many funny moments and those that make you cry too. It's got action for the guys and romance for the ladies.Highly recommended for all Bollywood fans and those wanting to check it out.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bollywood copies Hollywood (again!) but fails again!
Another poor copy of a Hollywood movie the class movie 'Memento'.Everything Hollywood does right Bollywood does wrong. Over scripted with holes so big it's just laughable that they get made!...Do yourself a favor don't watch second rate copycat scripts; watch the superior original (Hollywood) version 'Memento' and forget that Ghajini even existed!

5-0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC movie and Superb Blu Ray quality
Once again, big thanks to Nehaflix for great quality of the copy I got (!). Now movie ... oh YES, if you love Aamir Khan's performance, like to be drawn to the screen inpatiently following unusual story-lines he creates, enjoy action movies (and in this one he really does all the actions!) and want to see Aamir's metamorphosis (into fantastic look and physic) - you gotta have it!!! I watched this movie 3 times in 2 days right after I got it ... some of the scenes are very emotional and hurting ... so expect to get overwhelmed at times - but it is intended this way. Aamir is so extraordinary fascinating in his role - in dramatic swich of his character mid-movie ... Plus very romantic and sad love story ... I HIGHLY recommend to own this movie and watch with your better halves - it will enhance / increase value of your relationships and importance of each other! Enjoy it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprising Fantastic Movie
I am a lover of Bollywood and Hindi films. I love the contrasting roles found in this film. It is a great movie its gives men what they are looking for with a touch of romance for woman. You must see this movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars RIVETING AND EMOTIONAL!!!
OMG!!!I saw Ghanjini during Bollywood week on the IFC network. It was sort of by accident because I was checking the guide and read the description and became curious because it sounded exactly like a description of the movie Momento (EXCELLENT movie, by the way!!!).So, I decided to check it out.I was NOT at all disappointed! This movie is so incredibly executed and brilliantly acted out.I was literally on the edge of my seat during most of the movie! What an amazingly genius potrayal by lead actor Aamir Khan!!!Brilliant!I can't say enough about this movie. This Christmas, I bought two copies.....one for myself and one for my dad.He loves action-packed movies that are done with class, style, and gripping performances.Ghanjini fits that description PERFECTLY!!! Enjoy it! :)

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Movie but not a good copy
It is lovely movie - one of early Aamir khan ones - with good life-message and very nice performance of Aamir and little boy who pays Aamir's son in the movie. Unfortunately the copy of this manufacturer (EROS) had multiple digital glitches and pretty much impossible to watch. When I received the replacement by another manufacturer (Moserbaer), the copy was still not a good quality (pretty poor with lots of white spots and fuzzy picure). So unfortunately I had to return both copies. If any other manufacturer comes up with clean copy - I would like to own it, but none of the two currently on the market, so I do not recommend to buy any of the 2 existing manufacturers' copies.

5-0 out of 5 stars AHAT
AKELE HUM AKELE TUM STARRING AAMIR KHAN AND MANISHA KOIRALA. I JUST LOVE THIS FILM IT HAS ROMANCE AND INTENSE ALSO EMOTIONAL DRAMA. THE SONGS OF THE FILM ARE REALLY NICE LIKE RAJA KO RANI SE PYAR HOGAYA, AND AISA ZAKHM DIYA HAI.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kramer vs Kramer Indian style
This is a little dated looking around the edges. The film quality is a little grainy (though not too much so) and some of the hairdos and clothes are a bit 80s - though this movie is from 1995 (Bollywood seems to have kept this look a lot longer than the West. My daughter refers to it as Bollywoods eternal 80s!) However that is no reason not to get the movie as the content endures well. By the way it isn't in black and white as some covers of the DVD might suggest.
The plot is Kramer vs Kramer. Woman leaves husband and young son as she wants to develop her career and feels stifled as a housewife. They were both musicians (and he also a composer) when they married and she thought the deal was they would support each other in their common dream of becoming successful musicians. He got lost in his own seeking of success and was blind to her desires. She then rises to fame and he doesn't. However in caring for his son he develops a love and relationship with his son that he hadn't earlier developed. There is then a court case over the child's custody and he fights to keep his son who has become his whole life.
Along the way there are songs that are quite OK including the title song which is quite charming with the son singing with the father.
The acting is all good. Aamir plays the passionate, proud hothead he played in movies like Raja Hindustani. He brings so much fine acting and dimension to his roles that he is very watchable and works your emotions. The relationship between the father and son is beautifully developed and beautifully played. It is a great reason to watch the movie. His wife is played well by Manisha Koirala and she brings out the conflict in the character rather than playing it one-dimensionally. The young actor playing the son is very good.
I had to break out the tissues for the court scene as I had become quite hooked by the emotions. It is sentimental and romantic for those who like that sort of movie. Certainly if you like Rangeela or Raja Hindustani you'll probably like this too. Also Aamir Khan watchers won't be disappointed.
I think they did a good job of the movie and was tossing up between a 4 and a 5. The fact the acting was so good and it hooked me to the point of tissues pushed it to a 5. Lovely little movie that tended to be rated above average by most viewers. ... Read more

Consequently the bride Sughanda (Farha) drives away the barrat regardless of the consequences that this fiery act may take.
