Product Description
He loves me, he loves me not? Love--even life itself--is on the line as Connie drives all the way to Washington, D.C., to mend fences with Mitch. But his cool reception matches the frigid waters that nearly cost Connie her life during a stopover in West Virginia. A sudden job opportunity abroad creates yet another crisis for their relationship. Meanwhile, Odyssey's master of mispronunciation, Bart Rathbone, decides to sponsor--what else?--a Shakespeare festival. But he ends up with more theatrics behind stage than on it. Throughout these and other conflict-solving stories, kids 8 and up will learn that running away from a problem only makes matters worse.

Volume 41 contains the following stories (and themes):

  • Do or Diet (patience and perseverance)
  • Hindsight (the value of every moment)
  • The Taming of the Two (teamwork)
  • The Mailman Cometh (responsibility)
  • Teacher's Pest (love your enemies)
  • My Girl Hallie (putting people before things)
  • Seeing Red (admitting you're wrong)
  • Black Clouds (God's presence in tough times)
  • Silver Lining (revenge)
  • Pink Is Not My Color (unconditional love)
  • Something Blue, 1 & 2 (counting the cost)

4-0 out of 5 stars Like it
I like most of these episodes. 'the mailman cometh' is funny and 'something blue' (parts 1 and 2) is about where connie and mitch almost get married. I reccomend adventures in odyssey to you and your family.

5-0 out of 5 stars Such a Wonderful Product!
My son loves these tapes! They contain great messages for all children and are easy to understand. Great entertainment for the whole family.

5-0 out of 5 stars A hilarious, suspensful, and emotional album
"In Hot Pursuit" has a little bit of everything in it. It's funny, sad, and leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat in the last few episodes. I would highly recommend this album to any AIO fan!

"Do or Diet"This is the funniest episode in the album! (I even caught my Dad laughing.) Try to imagine Bernard, Whit, and Wooton all trying to lose 10 pounds -- in about three weeks. And if you think that would be interesting, try to imagine Connie being their personal trainer!
-5 stars

"Hindsight"During an unforgetable experience in The Room of Consequence, Liz has to decide to either ruin her reputation or possibly lead a timid boy into a life of crime.
-5 stars

"The Taming of the Two" Bart Rathbone is trying to advertise The Electric Palace! When an old rival of Edwin's suddenly appears in Odyssey and agrees to help out by hosting a Shakespearean festival, Bart thinks things will be perfect...until Edwin finds out! Meanwhile, Nick and Xavier are trying a little twist on the classic "Romeo and Juliet" for the festival.
-3.5 stars

"Teacher's Pest"What do you get when you mix the teacher's pet, the class clown, exploding pickles, and a custom build mouth that can (sort of) chew gum? A disaster!
-3 stars

"The Mailman Cometh"Marvin and Tamika envy Xavier. He gets to do all the fun stuff, like watch creepy movies at the theatre, while they have tickets to see "Me and My Honey". When they try to take advantage of the privelages that Xavier has, they realize that running away from trouble usually gets you right back into it!
-3.5 stars

"My Girl Haley" Another great twilight zone! When an innocent looking computer gradually becomes Joey's master, he must choose if his relationship with Haley or with his family and friends is more important.
-5 stars

"Seeing Red"Uh-oh! Liz and Mandy have a crush on the same guy?!? Is their relationship at stake? Meanwhile, Joanne and Connie are having their own boy troubles. The church in Sri Lanka that Joanne helped build has burned down! Joanne thinks she should try to sell an antique compass in Washington D.C., but Jack disagrees. Connie has a fight with Mitch over the phone and is not willing to apologize to him.
-4 stars

"Black Clouds"Joanne has decided to go to Washington D.C., and Connie is accompanying her so she can see Mitch. On their way there, they stop in a diner owned by an odd woman named Ethel. While there, they meet a strange girl named Lindy who thinks she is bad luck.
-4 stars

"Silver Lining"When a man named Vic saves Connie's life, she tries to help him get out of a crime he did not commit. However, Vic is not willing to listen at first and when things get too out of hand, it's too late. A very exciting and gripping adventure!
-5 stars

"Pink Is Not My Color" Connie and Joanne finally arrive to their destination, and stay with an FBI family in Virginia. Connie tries to straighten things out with Mitch, but instead of being distracted by her, he is distracted by his job as an FBI agent.
-5 stars

"Something Blue, Parts 1 and 2" Joanne goes to Washington D.C. to try to sell the compass, but is confused when one dealer says it is a worthless antique and the other says it is a prized possesion. Meanwhile, Mitch has to decide if he loves his girfriend or his career more. Exciting, emotional, and action-packed!

Stand by for chaos! Connie and the gang think they're doing another safe, scripted BTV program. But that's before the fire, the okra incident, and the renegade nose. Through the usual sticky situations, your whole family will learn the importance of teamwork, grace, unselfishness, and discovering God's will.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bed time stores
Every night my grandchildren listen to the Odyssey series before bed and sleep with sweet dreams and I know they are litening to worthwhile stoies with a message.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best All Around Collection in a Long Time
Ok, I confess.I've been listening to Adventures in Odyssey since its very first broadcast.I was in the target age range at the time, but I still love the show.

With the Novacom story behind them, the show serves up fun and funny shows focusing mostly on the kids and families around town.

"For the Fun of it" opens the album and finds Wooton playing host to his overly mature and well bred niece, with surprising results.

"Room Enough for Two" brings a surprise to Liz and her family when brother Mark shows up for a trip home from the Army with his fiancee.

"BTV: Behind the Scenes" finds disorder and disharmony on the set of the latest BTV episode, ironically enough about unity.

"Bassett Hounds" takes Wooton and Bernard to Alaska and a Bassett family reunion as Wooton's Grandpa plans to pass out his wealth.

"It's All About Me" features dual plots. In the first, Connie is upset when Mitch gets the credit for the advice she is feeding him on his new KYDS radio show.Meanwhile, Jared DeWhite is upset when his brother gets credit for his joke on Rodney Rathbone.

When Liz and her family disappear, it's up to Mandy, Jared, and a few new friends to solve "The Case of the Disappearing Hortons."(Have I mentioned it's wonderful to have Jared back in Odyssey?)

In "The Defining Moment," Marvin must deal with his sports abilities, or lack there of.

A free vacation sounds wonderful to the Washington family, until they get embroiled in the "Mystery at Tin Flat."

Aubrey takes a lesson in sharing her faith from Seth in "All Things to All People."But is this really the best method of evangelism?

Finally, the three part "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow?" finds Mitch tracking down the person who stole Whit's identity and framed Mitch for it.Meanwhile, he finally has to make a decision about joining the FBI.What will he do and what will it mean for his relationship with Connie?

With some drama and comedy mixed in, there's something for everyone here. There were even a few episodes where they surprised me with the ending.Any fan of Odyssey will love this collection of great radio drama. ... Read more

From the author: Successful conservation and management, particularly of harvested species, relies on accurate estimates of population demographics. In addition, estimates of survival and longevity allow more accurate modeling of evolutionary life-history trade-offs within and between species. We estimated survival rates for box nesting female Hooded Mergansers (Lophodytes cucullatus) and Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa) in southeastern Missouri during 1987-1997 and 1987-1993, respectively. Hooded Merganser survival rates varied annually and ranged from 0.42 1.0 ([Mathematical Expression Omitted] = 0.66 [+ or -] 0.04). Wood Duck survival did not vary significantly over time and averaged 0.63 ([+ or -] 0.02). Mean annual survival rates and capture probabilities were similar for the two species ([X.sup.2] = 0.49, df = 1, P [greater than] 0.05; [X.sup.2] = 0.02, df 1, P [greater than] 0.05). Annual variation in Hooded Merganser survival rates was an important component of this species' population ecology, but was not related to winter weather conditions, harvest rates, breeding season rainfall, or nesting parameters. Our female Wood Duck survival rates were higher than survival estimates for other adult females in the north-central subpopulation, but were comparable to some estimates for adult females that breed in southern and mid-Atlantic states.

Excerpt: Leigh Bowery (26 March 1961 - 31 December 1994) was an Australian performance artist, club promoter, actor, pop star, model and fashion designer, based in London. Bowery is considered one of the more influential figures in the 1980s and 1990s London and New York art and fashion circles influencing a generation of artists and designers. His influence reached through the fashion, club and art worlds to impact, amongst others, Alexander McQueen, Lucian Freud, Vivienne Westwood, Boy George, Antony and the Johnsons, John Galliano, the Scissor Sisters, David LaChapelle, Lady Bunny plus numerous Nu-Rave bands and nightclubs in London and New York which arguably perpetuated his avant garde ideas. Leigh Bowery was born in 1961 in the Melbourne suburb of Sunshine, Victoria. He often compared his early life there to a cultural wasteland in which he did not fit well. He was a sensitive and multi-gifted child in "macho" surroundings and as a teenager discovered a whole new world by reading about the London new romantic scene from British fashion magazines such as i-D. This inspired him to reinvent himself at the centre of the avant-garde art world in London. His family was conservative and he often reflected on his paren...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=540814 ... Since Amazon didn't post an editorial review, here's the description from the back of the book to help you decide if this book is for you: "Would they try again or finally say goodbye? Stephanie hadn't expected to see Jordan Kendall ever again. In the years since their young marriage had ended in disaster, she had managed to build a career for herself in real estate as well as make a home for her small daughter. Their small daughter, although Jordan didn't know about Katie. And there was Tony: staid, dependable Tony. Their engagement was the final piece in her new life. A life of security. A life totally different from the one she had had with Jordan. So, after all these years, why did he have to come back and mess up her life now?"

Product Description
J.R. Rain here. When I get email regarding my books, more often than not that mail consists of a single question: Who's Fang? Fang, for those of you who have not read my vampire mystery novel, MOON DANCE, is Samantha Moon's online confidant. Although I always suspected his role would expand in future books, little is explained about who Fang is or where he comes from. Well, considered his role expanded. At least for the time being. "Teeth" is his story. Or, rather, his backstory, in which the question is asked: What happens when a child is born with a rare throwback gene, a gene that produces two exceptionally long teeth?

Also included in the collection:

"My Father's Eyes", in which Death comes to a small bar in Los Angeles...and orders a beer.

"The Fridge", in which a man buying a state-of-the-art refrigerator gets much more than he bargained for.

"Die Spy", in which a spy very much comes out of the cold.

"Step on a Crack", in which an old curse gets a very real update.

And a bonus short story from THE BODY DEPARTED:

"Two Ghosts", in which two lost souls figure out a way not to be so lost....

5-0 out of 5 stars Great collection of stories
I really enjoyed this book and I am not always fond of short stories. These are clever and include a varied selection of themes. A fun read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps your interest
"Teeth" will hold your interest. This book answer the question of what does a man do when born with such teeth. If you have not read Moon Dance, this book will create an interest for you. I have read several books by J.R. Rain, and think he is an excellent writer. He is one of my favorite authors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like a Vampire
A somewhat mysterious story. It is the kind of a tale that interests people who enjoy vampire stories. I recommend "Teeth" for those who enjoyed J.R.'s novel, Moon Dance. It is quite the amazing fantasy adventures. The dialogue is compelling. Am looking forward to reading another book by J.R. Rain.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not sure?
I was hoping I think for something different.Like Fang finally meeting up with Samantha Moon. This was a little strange.J.R.'s Moon Dance was a good read. Not a great one but I liked it.This one Teeth was a little confusing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teeth - a short story with bite! - Five Stars!
I'm a big fan of J.R. Rain's novel, Moon Dance (A Vampire for Hire novel), so I was really excited that one of the characters from that novel, Fang (who is Samantha Moon's internet confidante) had his own short story -- I'm going to call it a "side-quel." In Teeth, Fang (aka Aaron) comes alive with his own interesting backstory at the trial that stems from the death of his beloved girlfriend, Annie Hox - as you can imagine, Annie was accidentally sucked dry. By Aaron.

Born with a throwback gene that caused two of his teeth to grow really long, Aaron grew up teased and shunned because of his unusual teeth. But in Annie, goth girl and admirer of his extraordinary teeth, Aaron comes of age, finds friends in Annie's circle, and discovers that love and passion are irrevocably intertwined with his lust for blood.

This is a poignantly human and sometimes sexy story -- it rings true to the allure of modern-day vampire tales that captivate us on the page, as well as on the screen. I highly recommend this book as a companion to the novel, Moon Dance, and hope to read more of Aaron's/Fang's urban fantasy adventures. There's great writing with sparkling dialogue and a compelling draw that makes me anxious for J.R. Rain's next Vampire for Hire novel. Got blood?
