Informative but not riveting
I ended up skimming this book for the parts that interested me most--i.e., Forster's relationship with Elizabeth Gaskell and how this affected her relationship with his friend, Charles Dickens.

Unfortunately, Davies didn't make me terriby interested in John Forster apart from how he influenced the notable and notorious Victorian authors with whom he worked and socialized. ... Read more
