Mark and Josie McKinney live with their four amazing kids in Anchorage, Alaska. They love living in the last frontier where they can let their imagination soar even higher than Mt. McKinley. Much like the kingdom of Asteria, Alaska can be wild and untamed. When Mark and Josie imagine the rich forests, mountain passes, rugged towns or the dangerous ocean surrounding Asteria, they pull from personal knowledge that can only come from the vast state they live in. Their children also inspire them to write. All four are creative and artistic in ways that challenge and inspire Mark and Josie to keep writing. Start here to begin a fun Quest
First, a disclamier: I am personal freinds with Mark & Josie and have known them for over four years. They're fun loving people who enjoy family and friends and are two people who I'm truly happy to call friend.

Now, on to the reason for this review.

Alimar's Quest starts with mystery and intrigue, and builds on it throughout the tale. People befriend Alimar not knowing why they want to help him, or even how they can help him for certain. Trust is given freely for those who deserve it; others are held at arms length even after proving their worth. Not because Alimar is mean spirited; rather, he is wise for his years and a very good judge of character.

As a young man, he is not as strong or skilled in battle as those who join him. He learns quickly though. His "dreams" are what not only compel him, but, the reader too. His direction is given through his dreams, leading him on his quest.

I'm eagarly looking forward to the next installment.

Alimars Quest
I really liked this book, and was sad when I finished it. I wanted to learn more about the characters and can't wait until book 2 comes out. It was one of those books you read that you do not want to put down, but know if you don't it will be over. The book was a very easy read for all ages.
