Thoroughly, thoroughly worthless
There are a lot of infertility books out there.Most of them repeat the same information over and over again.This is one of the more worthless specimens of this latter sort.If you haven't read a single infertility book, then you might find something of value in this book.(But I would get it -- or something similar to it -- from the library if I were you.)If you've already done some reading, then skip this one -- there's nothing new in it.

Covers Basics...Very Reader-Friendly
This book was my introduction to getting a diagnosis (and treatment) for infertility.It is a great "quick-reference" book--it covers the basics in a very clear fashion. It's a great place to start learning if you find yourself starting the intense journey of infertility treatment. I highly recommend this book for couples.

Don't Waste Your Money!
There are some fantastic books on fertility on the market.This one isn't even remotely close.The Fertility Handbook tries to do it all in 135 pages and sadly, ends up doing very little.This little book attempts to cover everything from emotional concerns to all of the causes and treatments of infertility and causes of & living after miscarriage.

What happens is this:important topics get watered down, and so simplified that they aren't practically useful.Want to learn how to chart your temperature?Hope you're a quick learner, because you get one paragraph to figure it out.Wandering how you should take care of your body while trying to conceive?Don't miss it - it's all in one paragraph.

And yet it's puzzling that there are two pages on selective reduction of multiples, something that very few women will have to face.And if they do, I hope women look at more thorough books than this one to make their decision... ... Read more

I wish there is a two-and-a-half star rating
Like my title says, I wish there is a two and a half star rating. I have read better skating books than this one, such as " Figure Skating For Dummies" and "The Essential Figure Skater". This book is too vague in some parts of the book and too much information in the other parts. Not a very good guide to figure skating. The beautiful pictures of famous figure skaters are the best parts of this book.

To much covered not enough info!
This book is only 128pgs and covered to much with to little info. With everything covered this book needed to be at least 300pgs. Over all worth reading.

Excellent book for illustrating skating moves!
This book provides step by step illustrations of a range of skating moves from beginners to advance. The placement of the foot patterns is easy to see with arrows to show direction. As a level one freestyle figure skater, I find that the book is missing directions on beginning movements, warmups, and preparation for jumps and spins.Advanced skaters find this book extremely helpful in learning to perform double and triple rotations in jumps and various spins. If you're looking for a collection of traditional recipes, look elsewhere.If you're looking for interesting twists to old favorites and distinctivenew recipes, this is your book. I loved the Devil's Food (with frosting),Chocolate White Chocolate Chunk, and Java Jive Mocha Snaps.There are anumber of other recipes I look forward to trying.I wasn't crazy about afew of the rerigerator cookie recipes, though.

Incredible insight
What a book. This book takes you from step one all the way to the final stages of photographic lighting. This is what my teachers weren't teaching me. This is a real world application of commercial photography for any photographer at any level. It has helped me comprehend how the simple basics of lighting grow into complex shots that are based upon simple yet exact theories. Wonderfully illustrated and executed.

A basic guide, nothing unique or interesting
This guide is great for the beginner, but as someone who has been in the photography world for years, I was hoping for something that would push my creative lighting skills.This book definitely did not do that.I also found it to be incredibly boring.While the model shots could be nice for the right person, the hundreds of shots of volleyballs were just horrible.Unless you are a true beginner, skip this book.

Glorious Treatment of a Holiday Classic!
A few years ago, I was in a production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at my community's playhouse.One Sunday evening after the matinee and before the evening performance, I stopped in a Barnes&Noble and decided to pick this book up.It looked like a beautiful adaptation of a classic holiday story that had made my Christmases special for years.

I was not disappointed.

Just take a second now to look at the cover of this book.Whether you have it in your hand, or you look at it on Amazon, just glance at it for a few seconds.Do you see the intricate detail artist Dean Morrissey puts in his illustration?The bricks on the wall, and shadow on Scrooge's face.The snow on the pavement on the ground.This intricate attention to detail is present throughout all of the illustrations.They are gorgeous, and they bring vibrant life to Dickens' classic.

Now, for the treatment of Dickens' writing.This book is abridged, but is marvelously done.Many of the lines are Dickens' own, and all of the cuts come from lengthy descriptions that aren't essential to the story.Dickens' overall tone and beautiful use of language are present in this book, and they make the tale of Scrooge and his redemption as inspiring as it's ever been.

This is a nice introduction if you've never read the Dickens original (though I can't imagine anyone hasn't).However, if you have read it, this is a must-own if you value Scrooge and his ghosts as an essential part of the holiday season, as I do. ... Read more
