Excerpt: Michael Barrett "Barry" Watson (born April 23, 1974) is an American actor, known for his roles of Matt Camden on 7th Heaven, Brian Davis in What About Brian and Todd Deepler in Samantha Who? Watson was born in Traverse City, Michigan. His father worked as an attorney and his mother as a paralegal. Watson was born the third of four children. At the age of eight, his family moved to Dallas, Texas where he began his modeling career. For a period of time he studied acting at the Dallas Young Actors Studio. Watson was fourteen when his parents divorced. When he was fifteen, he moved to Burbank, California, where he immediately landed a six month contract on the soap opera Days of our Lives. After his contract ended, Watson moved back to Texas, and graduated from Richardson High School in 1992. When he turned 19, Watson moved back to Los Angeles, where he worked parking cars at a House of Blues nightclub while auditioning for roles. He landed guest spots in several television series such as Baywatch and Sister, Sister. Eventually he was chosen for a minor role on the Aaron Spelling series Malibu Shores. Though his role was brief, it led him to Aaron Spelling's next project 7th Heaven. It was on the WB's 7th Heaven that Watson finally gained recognition as Matt Camden. In 1999 he starred in his first feature film with fellow WB star Katie Holmes in Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Watson guest starred in two episodes of 7th Heaven during its tenth season, but did not appear at all during the eleventh and final season. On April 16, 2006 Watson starred as the lead character Brian Davis, in the ABC series What About Brian. The...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=1041206 ... Read more

Purchase includes a free trial membership in the publisher's book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Excerpt: Peter DeBoer (born June 13, 1968 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada) is currently the head coach of the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and part-owner of the Oshawa Generals of the OHL. He was previously the head coach of the Detroit Whalers, Plymouth Whalers, and Kitchener Rangers of the OHL. He is a two-time winner of the OHL Coach of the Year trophy and led the Rangers to a Memorial Cup victory in 2003. He holds a law degree from the University of Windsor/University of Detroit. DeBoer was drafted 237th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. At the time he was playing with the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL, and in his best offensive season with them he scored 45 goals and 46 assists for 91 points. After Windsor, DeBoer went on to play for the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League, and played two full seasons with them. In his last season with the Admirals, he scored 27 goals and 34 assists for 61 points and retired after that season. DeBoer became an assistant coach for the Detroit Junior Red Wings during the 1994-95 season. During the 1995 off-season, the club was renamed the Detroit Whalers, and DeBoer was promoted to the dual position of head coach-general manager as Paul Maurice left the team to become the coach of the Hartford Whalers in the NHL. DeBoer guided the Whalers to a first place finish in the West Division, as Detroit advanced to the third round in the playoffs. In 1996-97, Detroit struggled to a 26-34-6 record and was eliminated in the first round of the post-season. The Whalers renamed themselves to the Plymouth Whalers during the 1997 off-season, and the te...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=3633865 ... Read more

Chapters: Eddie Keher, Willie Murphy, Pat Kavanagh. Source: Wikipedia. Pages: 22. Not illustrated. Free updates online. Purchase includes a free trial membership in the publisher's book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Excerpt: Edward Peter Keher (born 11 November, 1941 in Inistioge, County Kilkenny), better known as Eddie Keher, is a retired Irish hurling manager and former player. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the game. Keher began hurling with the Rower-Inistioge club in his late teens. His performances with the club brought him to the attention of the Kilkenny minor selectors and he quickly joined the team in 1957. A three-year tenure as a minor saw Keher fail to land an All-Ireland, however, he quickly progressed onto the Kilkenny senior team in 1959. Over the next eighteen years Keher played in 50 championship games and established himself as the most prolific scorer the game had ever seen. He won six All-Ireland titles, ten Leinster titles and three National Hurling League titles before his retirement from inter-county duty in 1977. Keher also enjoyed an unsuccessful stint as coach of the Kilkenny senior team in the late 1980s. Selected as the Texaco Hurler of the Year in 1972, Keher subsequently succeeded Christy Ring as the all-time top championship scorer. His tally of 36 goals and 307 points was a record which stood for over thirty years until it was surpassed by his fellow county man Henry Shefflin. His tally of 2 goals and 11 points in the All-Ireland final of 1972 was a record score for a final which stood until Nicky English surpassed it by a single point in 1989. A winner of five consecutive All-Star awards between 1971 and 1975, Keher's reputation as one of the all-time greats of hurling was cemented in 1984 when he was named, by popular opinion, in the left corner-forward position on the GAA Hurling Team of the Century.
