The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: The U.S. Army Special Operations Command is developing a replacement communications base station known as the Joint Base Station Variant 1 (JBS V1). The JBS (V1) incorporates an automation subsystem not found in predecessor systems. The introduction of the automation subsystem raised concerns about its impact on the military occupational specialty (MOS) and quantity of base station operators. Task analysis and modeling using the Improved Performance Research Integration Tool (IMPRINT) were conducted to assess skill requirements, workload, and mission performance to assist in determining the appropriate quantity and MOS of JBS (V1) operators. The outcome of the analysis predicts that one Special Forces Communications Sergeant MOS 18E, one Record Telecommunications Operator MOS 74C, and one Information Systems Operator Analyst MOS 74B are an appropriate skill mix to successfully operate the JBS (v1) during a 12 hour shift. With the implementation of this crew complement plus one 18E supervisor, it would be possible for the Base Station Section of the Special Forces Battalion Signal Detachment to be reduced from the current total number of eight to seven personnel. ... Paddy Lalor was a member of the last Laois team to win the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship in 1949. Later that year he helped his club Abbeyleix to win the Laois Senior Hurling Championship. He played football and hurling for his club and county for many years and is generally regarded as one of the most skilful hurlers to have pulled on the Blue and White jersey of Laois. This was evidenced by his selection in 1999 on the Laois Hurling Team of the Millennium. He was a Teachta Dála (TD) for over twenty years, and a minister three times. Excerpt: Charles William (Charlie) Ganzel (June 18, 1862 - April 7, 1914) was a catcher in Major League Baseball who played for the St. Paul Saints (1884), Philadelphia Quakers (1885-1886), Detroit Wolverines (1886-1888) and Boston Beaneaters (1889-1897). He batted and threw right-handed. A native of Waterford, Wisconsin, Ganzel came from a baseball family. His son, Babe, was an outfielder who played with the Senators from 1927 to 1928, and his brother John was a first baseman for the Pirates, Cubs, Giants, Highlanders and Reds from 1898-1908, and also managed the Reds and the Tip-Tops between 1908 and 1915. Two brothers and two sons also played in the minor leagues. Ganzel started his career in 1884 with the St. Paul team of the short lived Union Association. In 1885 he signed with Philadelphia and made his debut in the National League. Manager Harry Wright engaged him as the everyday catcher as he remained with the team that season and part of 1886, when was purchased by the Detroit Wolverines. In Detroit, Ganzel shared duties with Charlie Bennett as he showed a significant improvement in his work, impressing many with his solid defense and strong throwing arm. At the end of 1888 he was sold to the Boston Beaneaters along with Hardy Richardson, Dan Brouthers, and Bennett for $25,000. That was the largest sum paid up to that time for four ball players and Boston obtained plenty of good advertising as well as four talented players who became headliners in the league.
