Excelent!
This audio CDs really helped me pass my EMT-B national testing. It was very helpful that I could listen to the CDs while I was driving and to learn many things that I missed while reading the EMT book. After failing the written test 3 times then listening to these CDs I passed the national test on my 1st try after listening to these CDs.

Again they worked wonders! I would highly recomend these to people who are hands on or listening learners.

very helpfull aide to the real thing
These CD's are great for listening to while driving along, or while doing housework. In this day and age I don't have time to always pick up my text book so this is a great alternative. The pace of conversation is good, not too fast not to slow.
I would highly recommend this CD series to others taking or looking to take the EMT-Basic course or if you are looking to recert. This should qualify for all your Basic CEU's
I only wish that I was working from the same text as the publisher of these CD's, however having a difference in publishers sometimes provides more details and explains the some things in different ways.

Future EMT students

A must-have for any EMS provider
My collection of books and other study material may be impressive, but there is only a handful that I would recommend to any EMS provider. This unique and excellent CD completes any EMT workbook, and makes a commute more enjoyable (believe it or not).

My only regret is that we may have to wait 2010 to get the paramedic version (info. provided by the publisher).

Emergency Care Workbook, 11E
This workbook, along with the textbook, offer a great educational opportunity for the EMT-B examination. The workbook is a little more expensive then others but was part of the curriculum at the Fire and Rescue Academy I went to.

Okay, but Amazon should put in big letters WORKBOOK
I return this item. It did not appear clearly that was the WORKBOOK. It should appear in big bold letters. A lot of people in my class got this workbook by mistake.The cover is the same as the textbook. Overall, I had no problem returning and Amazon did a great job in a quick refund.

emt workbood
I was a little worried that I wouldn't receive this for about another week, and I received this w/in a week and a half after placing my order.I know that this is going to help me out tremendously w/ my current studies and I'm thrilled that I will get to use this to help me out

Overpriced...
The book isn't bad itself, but for the book that probably cost $2.00 to produce and to charge $45.00 is just ridiculous. It goes to show you that the publishers will do anything to exorbitantly raise the price of the book to make a handsome profit that screws students over.

Try buying it used on the Amazon Marketplace, Ebay, or Half dot com, and get it for $10-$15.00 at the most. Or just find a friend in class and share it/make copies or w/e.

VERY helpful when used with the textbook.
I would do the reading and assigned homework (not from the workbook) for class, and then use the workbook as a pre-exam before our weekly tests. It asks the material in different ways which allows you to reinforce concepts and terms you're reading about. The practice "interim exams" were also very good for review, and I plan on using them again before our final. If you're the type of student that could benefit from having additional and study aids, then you should get this workbook.

Just a note: It is rumored that the DOT will be changing some requirements over the summer and this book (and the text) may be replaced by a newer edition (12E).

What a great writer Pat Conroy is....
I haven't read a book of his since Beach Music and his writing style is just awesome.I know this one is older, but I just never picked it up, but I am glad I did.There is not a ton of action, but the character development is top notch, just awesome.

As with all of Pat Conroy's works, this is a very "heavy" novel.It is sometimes painful to read and in general I did not like Bull, the main character, but loved Ben, the son.Just when you are ready to give up on Bull, he does something so good and out of character, that you realize he does indeed have some redeeming qualities.This is not casual, light reading but a profound work that will remain with you long after the close the book.

I guess you could call this TOUGH LOVE
I saw the movie many years ago, when I had never heard of Pat Conroy.. Robert Duvall played Bull and Jessica Lange played his smart southern wife, They were perfect playing the tough marine fighter pilot and his somewhat long suffering wife.

The book was written beautifully. You knew those characters well. That's how Conroy writes.

I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the book after going back in time and remembering the movie and my pure disgust for BULL/Duvall, being the awful bully he was to his family.

I was wrong. It was an excellent read and a truly compelling story of a Marine family that, of course, had relocated many times and how that was for the family. Being that this took place in the 50's, times in the south were so different although sometimes I think they are not so different at all...just more politically correct. In short, read it..
