Product Description
In Safe Words, which picks up where the Deviations series left off, Tobias, Noah and Phan are all working on finding their place, both at Bradford's club and in their personal lives. They're all living together, and Tobias has taken on the roll of full-time Dom, which he loves, but finds incredibly challenging. While Noah finds comfort in the new state of things and is looking forward to deeper submission, but Phan is finding it harder to strike a balance. Too many changes happening too fast are making Phan act out, and neither Tobias nor Noah are sure how to deal with it. Life is not perfect for Bradford, either, as he discovers new feelings for his sub Nikki. Can Tobias help his friend, manage his job teaching the other Doms, and his relationships with Noah and Phan, or will the house that he's built for himself fall down around their ears? The Deviations series includes: Deviations Submission, Deviations Domination, Deviations Discipline and Deviations Bondage. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A lovely book, even though it falls the slightest bit short of the original series
Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 9/10

PROS:
- I adore these characters, especially the two subs. This book solidified my affection for Noah; there's a switch scene in this story that felt more convincing to me than any in the earlier books. I thought it was less "scenelike" and more genuine--less like Noah was acting a part and more like he was really taking on the role of Dom for a while. And oh my goodness, I love Phan. Like, almost more than life itself. He's wounded yet fierce, a mental basketcase at times but always loving and sweet. He's one of my favorite fictional characters ever. He makes me smile and giggle and sigh.
- I loved seeing characters I'm already familiar with reacting to situations in which they're an established threesome. Phan gets collared right at the end of the fourth book, and I liked seeing them now that they've all been together for a while and are making the relationship work, rather than simply coasting on the newness of their feelings for one another. Phan and Noah come much closer to being 24/7 subs in this story than they have before--after all, they're not only living with Tobias but also working with him--and although it took me a while to get used to their all being together SO much, I did enjoy seeing that new aspect of their relationship.
- The authors once again tackle real issues with this book rather than focusing entirely on the warm fuzzies of how wonderful and perfect the men's lives are. For me, one of the most interesting things about the Deviations books is how deeply Owen and Payne examine the characters' psyches, and that very much continues here, especially as pertains to the difficulties of a threesome relationship.
- Percentage-wise, we don't really see any more of Bradford than in the earlier books, but what we do see of him made me like him even more. Several new secondary characters are introduced also, and although we don't get to see too much from them, I liked a couple of them very much.

CON:
- The tone of this book seems to me just a little different than the tone of the earlier books. It struck me as less bare and frank; there's more explanation, more cushioning in the exposition.

Overall comments: I definitely recommend this for fans of BDSM and/or threesomes, regardless of whether or not you've read the earlier, 4-book series. There are sections of text, especially toward the beginning of this book, that are quite obviously aimed at catching up those readers who are unfamiliar with the characters' backgrounds. This isn't QUITE as perfect as I wanted it be, though. Don't get me wrong--it's a great book, and I loved reading it because I adore the characters. But try as I might, I couldn't read it objectively and prevent myself from comparing it to the original series' seamlessness. It's a lovely afterthought, but an afterthought nonetheless. ... Product Description
Gent is a little wild, a little jaded maybe. He likes to play. Whether it's a good game of pool, a piercing in a naughty place, or a pretty boy who wants to take him home, he's all for it. He likes to take chances, as long as they're not the stupid kind. When he meets Paul, he thinks he might just have found someone fresh and new, someone who'll play, maybe someone who will be more than a one night stand. Pretty quick, though, Gent finds out with Paul he gets more than he bargained for. He gets Jamie, too, Paul's twin, who wants him just as much as Paul does. Gent thinks maybe he's in over his head, in for a weird triangle that he can't handle. It's a new game for him, and it might just end up with him taking the kind of dumb chances he never indulges in. But as the three come together in an explosion of passionate fireworks, beginning to explore a whole new world of heat, he learns that there can be a lot more fun in having two. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THRICE THE LOVE
Gemini Gent is a tattoo artist who is immediately attracted to customer Paul, when Gent goes home with Paul after a date, he meets Paul's twin Jamie and soon discovers the mutual attraction extends to both men. When you look at the underlining plot, you will see a story of three men bonded in an unique relationship that provides the emotional needs of each man, the key being the sense of equally belonging to each other, which makes the love scenes all the more sensuous, the story is more than just sex, it also illustrates love. This is a fantastic romance that I enjoyed reading.

3-0 out of 5 stars Quite a Triangle
Owen, Chris. "Gemini", Torquere Press, 2009.

Quite a Triangle

Amos Lassen

Chris Owen handles a touchy and controversial subject with style in the emotionally charged "Gemini". It is a romantic adventure that is filled with heart and interesting characters.
Gent is a wild guy who loves to play. He loves taking chances especially when they are foolish. Gent meets Paul and he thinks that he will be a great one to play with and maybe even someone who is worth more than just being a one-nighter. However, Gent gets more than he bragianed for; he not only gets Paul but his twin brother Jamie as well. Both twins want Gent and Gent thinks that perhaps this time he has too much of a good thing. When the three guys get together there are fireworks and Gent realizes double the fun.
Gent is a tattoo artist who is alwaus looking foe fun but is there such a thing as too much fun? There is a lot of graphic sex here which is well written and I suppose that somewhat hides the fact that there is not much plot. It actually doesn't though. Owens is a good writer and I would have loved more story and less sex. I am not a big reader of erotic literature and I had never read Owen so I gave the book a try. I see a lot of potential that is so covered up with sex that I really lost track of the little bit of plot that there was. I would love to see what Owen can do with literature that is not of a sexual nature.

4-0 out of 5 stars short but sweet
If you like reading about sex constantly, this book is for you. Not much of a plot but easy reading.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the better MM books available
I've been waiting for Chris Owen's Gemini to become available in print for way too long and now that it's here... Overjoyed.I'm not a huge fan of books written in 1st person so when I come across one that is as well written as Gemini I rave about them.

Gemini is not a book for everyone -- the subject matter is in many ways very controversial (and I am not speaking of the gay issue). However, Chris Owens handles it with his typical gifted flare.I rooted for the characters involved and my heart went out to them ONLY because of the emotionally charged way their story was presented. If read with an open mind, anyone reading this book will see beyond the social taboos and embrace the story for what it is -- a beautiful love story between consenting adults, a romantic adventure full of heart with characters who deserve an HEA.If only we all could be so lucky....

2-0 out of 5 stars Gemini
Gent is a tatoo artist that gets picked up one night by Paul, a somewhat preppy City Hall worker. He soon discovers that to be with Paul he has to accept Jamie, Pauls twin brother, into their relationship too.
I have to say that I was very disapointed in this book because I know this author is capable of so much more. Her usual style of humor and strong emotion was totally absent in this book. It was also a very short read with a flat ending. And I didn't like the brothers and the detailed sex sences between them. Owens did a great job in 911 with the three person relationship. But in this book I just kept thinking ewww. So, for future books Owens, three way GREAT...incest Bad! ... Read more

He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He played college football and college basketball at Tulane. Parker has also been a member of the Edmonton Eskimos, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Parker initially enrolled in Tulane on a college basketball scholarship and played on their team from 2001 to 2003. It was also in 2003 that Parker won the NCAA slam dunk competition. Winning the slam dunk competition drew the attention of Tulane's football head coach Chris Scelfo, as well as football scouts in the NFL. Later that same year, his senior year, Parker accepted Scelfo's invitation to play on the school's football team. His slam dunking abilities were showcased in a 2005 CFL game at Molson Stadium against the Montreal Alouettes. Lined up as a wide receiver, Parker caught a 42-yard touchdown reception and celebrated by dunking the ball over the cross bar uprights. He also has a 43" vertical leap. On April 26, 2004, Parker was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was waived by the team following training camp on August 1. After being cut by the Jaguars, during training camp, Parker signed with the Argonauts on January 24, 2005, but played in only six games. In 2006, Parker signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL but was cut by the team on July 31. 3-0 out of 5 stars Hot cops!
~Read April 1, 2008~
ON THE CLOCK by Chris Owen - 4.5 Stars - I love that Chris Owen is so reliable when it comes to good M/M romance. This story is about two detectives who meet on a homicide case. The story details the first 48 hours of their relationship, all while they're working on the case. The two main men are yummy, the supporting characters are great, the sex is steamy, and the crime part of the story isn't so serious that it overwhelms the romance. This is just a fun, light read.

NOTHING'S EVER EASY by CB Potts - 2.5 stars - This is the story about an unhappy prison guard. It really has no plot to speak of. There's some drinking, lots of angst and swearing, some sex, some whips and chains, a bunch of criminals...and then it's over. It kind of feels like a bunch of excerpts of bigger stories, all jumbled and stuck together. It's odd, to say the least.

IN FLESH AND BLOOD by Tory Temple - 3.5 stars - Not much to say about this one. It's a story starring the same guys from FIRELINE. Very good, but it's best if you read FIRELINE first.

TRACE EVIDENCE by Alexa Snow - 3.5 - This is a story about a police officer working a murder. He's unhappy with his boyfriend, frustrated with the progress of the case, and confused about the informant who claims to be psychic. This is angsty, sexy, creepy (in a good way!), and just pretty darn cool. My only complaint is that there's too much information and too many subplots to really fit into a mini-novella. This would be a great candidate for expansion and republishing.

Overall this anthology is just average (3.5 stars), and Chris Owen's story is the only standout. Keep your fingers crossed that one of these days all her stories will be released as standalone e-books.

4-0 out of 5 stars It does Serve pretty well.
Chris Owen's story was amazingly tame for him and while it wasn't very exciting it also wasn't bad either, I'm kind of happy to have managed to read something of him without clenching my teeth. The mystery wasn't really spectacular but the characters were interesting and it was the first time I read about someone working in computer crimes in a story, was pretty interesting. A detective has to work a murder investigation where the victim is basically a cave throll, who spent his life holed up in his apartment and sitting in front of his computer practically 24/7. Computer crime expert, Gallangher, the man who found the unlucky guy dead, is both curious about the murder and attracted to the detective investigating it.

CB Potts' story had the most original character's setting imo, Correctional Officer, but sadly that's the extend of my praises. That story was easily the worst of the bunch but also thankfully the shortest one. A correctional officer has trouble finding a date that won't run at the mention of his job. After drinking himself in a stupor because of his failed latest date, he's shoved home in a cab with a Taxi driver that isn't put off by our prison guard and all about making him release his tension by giving up control for once.

Tory Temple's "Heat" firemen, Tucker and Chance were next up with Flesh and Blood~ Since I absolutely adore that series it was really great reading more of them in a short story about acceptance and Tucker's insecurities about their partnership in society.

Last but not least, Alexa Snow's Trace Evidence. The best story of the anthology, great characters facing relationship problems after being together for 5 years, intriguing mystery with a side of paranormal activity and a nice dose of angst to cover it all~ Very sweet conclusion to a good anthology.

4-0 out of 5 stars Anthology of Men in Uniform and Gay Romance
I enjoyed the last story in this anthology the best, but all chapters were well written.

I like a good romance with a detective and his lover, with a little angst and danger thrown in, so the final story really appealed to me.

If you can't resist a man in uniform give this anthology a try.

5-0 out of 5 stars To Serve and Protect
On the Clock by Chris Owen

Homicide detective Cort Strang is almost through with his shift when the body of a social introvert is found dead in his apartment. Frustrated, he heads off to deal with his newest case. A surprise in the form of Patrick Gallagher is on scene. Pat turns out to be a computer crimes detective, gorgeous and he just hit on him.

Chris Owen's On the Clock is about two detectives meeting and then trying to find time between clues to get together. Cort and Patrick have to work to find time to be together but when they do, it's like gunshot; hot, fast and explosive.

Nothing's Ever Easy by CB Potts

Grant Grandmaison is a corrections officer who's feeling beat down. After an unusual evening at the club and a guy with bright green eyes, he finds an temporary escape from his pressures.

In Nothing's Ever Easy a night of indulgence finds Grant what he hopes could possibly be a permanent happy fix. CB Potts delivers sizzling sex with light BDSM along with a spark hope in this story.

Flesh and Blood by Tory Temple

Chance and Tucker are back. Tucker is floundering in a sea of uncertainty. He's really stressed about how the world views their relationship. Chance needs to find a way to make Tuck see what they have is beautiful and real. That only what they think and feel is what really matters.

I love these guys! Chance and Tuck are still as explosive as ever in this tale. Your emotions will be taken on a wild ride as you enter their world. Tory Temple's sexy loving men in Flesh and Blood will set your blood afire once more.

Trace Evidence by Alexa Snow

Detective Mitch Anderson and his partner Leo Banks take a call that leads to a dead body in the local park. The men are working on a deadline to find the killer and the more time that passes the less chances of solving the case. Mitch is also on a deadline at home, he's close to losing his life partner, Clay. Can Mitch find all the pieces to make everything fall into place, home and work, or will one suffer?

This final story took me by surprise.....I didn't see the end coming, which dodesn't happen often. You will LOVE the plot twist in Trace Evidence. Alexa Snow's sexy characters will steal your heart as you tag along on their journey of discovery.

You will love this incredible collection of stories, that they're men in uniform only make it that much better! All bring a kernel of hope and of course lots of man love as you take part in their stories. I loved To Serve and Protect and you will too!

5-0 out of 5 stars You just have to love these hot cops, firemen, correction officers.
Four excellent novellas on hot alpha men in uniform.
Chris' "On the Clock" is a well written and tightly paced mystery murder. This story spans a few days as Cort, a detective, races against the clock to solve the crime. He meets a fellow detective and nothing is hotter than 2 cops' instant attraction and lust for one another. The sexual tension simply sizzles.

CB's "Nothing's ever easy" maybe the shortest but compelling, its brutal prison world, dark characters and rough sex disturbing. I wish this one is longer as the characters are so intriguing.

Thank you Tory for giving us a short novella on Chance and Tucker. Readers who do not know these 2 sexy firemen should get "Fireline". Just love these 2 alpha and sensual men with their emotional ups and downs. More on them, please.

Last but not least is Alexa's engrossing "Trace Evidence", in which one tough cop, Mitch, nearly loses sight of what is most important to him, as he is embroiled in his work. Mitch making up with his lover is one heartfelt scene. The psychic elements certainly spice up the plot and I am please that Alexa's psychic hero, Nick, is featured in this story.

I do not have a favorite as I enjoy all four stories. An excellent anthology indeed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING BOOK
This is my first review of a book. But I had to write how amazing I thought this book is.It's a must read for those who enjoy beautiful, descriptive prose, besides just lots of sex.

5-0 out of 5 stars Number One Best Love Story
This book is simply the best, most tender, most complete love story I have ever read. Never mind gay - if that is what you care about, it is the best. Never mind straight - the best love story ever. I wish Chris Owen would write a few more like this. This is not even a cross over book - it is just the best love story whoever or wherever you are.

5-0 out of 5 stars A beautiful reading experience you shouldn't miss
To do this book justice I decided to write my review outside, sitting in the sun. Why? Because this book is not only a very genuine love story between two adoring characters, but also a detailed and fascinating description of the beauties of Australia. Chris Owen has a way with words that lets you visualize the deserts, the tropical areas, the beaches, the cities, the people and the animals directly in your head. You almost expect that if you look up from the pages of the book, you'll see all of this in front of you. And as I'm living 14400 km (8950 mi) away from Uluru I thought by enjoying the sun and the nature outside I would be a little bit better enabled to describe the feelings this book provoked in me.

So here goes. Jason and Ryan, the two main characters of the book, are both at a turning point in their lives when they meet in the Outback of Australia along the Stuart Highway. For Jason heading out to the Outback was a plan and a dream postponed for five long years, years which have been filled with dark experiences for him. But he finally decided to go on this trip to see the desert, because he knew that otherwise he would never make his dream real and because he needed to leave the past behind him.

Ryan on the other hand is a 18 year-old boy who has lived a sheltered life in a loving family and who went on this trip through Australia to get a break before starting the final stages of his PhD. When Ryan and Jason meet on their trip and decide to become travel companions, this triggers the process of Ryan's coming-out. And Ryan couldn't have found a better man to help him along this process.

They both become lovers, even though they know that their affair can only be a summer love as Ryan has to finish his PhD in Canada and Jason has a life in Sydney. But their affection for each other deepens and as they continue their trip through Australia they come to the point where they can't deny the depth of their love for each other any more.

But then a terrible tragedy befalls Ryan and threatens their love for each other as much as Ryan's looming return to Canada.

Loved this book, loved the way Chris Owen literally made me able to watch the love affair between Jason and Ryan blossom, loved her lush descriptions of Australia's natural wonders. I highly recommend this book as a reading experience that simply leaves you feeling good.

But be careful, this book is really able to cause an aching for the faraway, too. ;-)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read!!!
Wow, the title of the book gave me no idea how wonderful it was going to be reading it.The sites and scenery make me want to visit the Outback and do a "drive-about" like the characters did.

The romance part of the book was exceptional. The fact that Jason develops a relationship, and helps a youngster come of age as a gay man was fascinating to read. The absence of tons of "wanton sex" helped build the romance between the characters.

I like a good, warm book to entertain me, and this one fit the bill nicely!Enjoy reading this Chris Owens book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A genuine gay love story
It was as while he was still at school that Jason Stuart realised he was gay, but when he announced this to his best friend, and later his mother, it did not go down well with either. At the first opportunity he planed to leave home in Winnipeg, and so it was at the age of twenty one he set off for Australia. He had had a rough time initially in Sidney included a period as a whore, but thanks to Alex, who made a habit of straightening out wayward youngsters, he was now back on track. So it was that at the age of twenty six he set of to go walkabout in the Australian Outback, taking with him his paints and canvases.
As he set of driving he soon picked up a hitch-hiker, Ryan, a very young Canadian student. Although they part company, they soon to meet up again, and eventually Stuart suggests Ryan join him on his travels. When Ryan confesses to Stuart that he thinks he might be gay, Stuart reveals that he is gay and promises to help him, and before long Ryan invites Stuart to seduce him. They spend the next few weeks together, and fall in love, but following a disaster in Brisbane, they are soon on their way back to Sydney and Alex. Can Alex help them overcome their problem?
This is a genuine love story and a sheer pleasure to read. Stuart is an admirable guy, having experienced the ups and downs of life and come through it all, he behaves very responsibly towards Ryan. Ryan is an absolute delight, he is a very intelligent and full of boyish energy, he "bounces" with enthusiasm, and he is cute with it. They become devoted to one another, but of course they must face the fact that Ryan will return to Toronto to complete his PhD. The pleasures they bring to each other are beautifully related, and while the descriptions of their indulgences between the sheets or wherever else to choose to enjoy themselves are not detailed or graphic, they are nonetheless at times quite erotic.
What makes this so enjoyable is that the story avoids the almost clichéd failures and disasters that beset so many lovers in gay literature; here is a truly positive tale with a heart-warming outcome. Highly recommended.

Product Description
Hairy Mole is no ordinary pirate. He is neither bold, brave, fearless nor handsome, but he loves an adventure. Together with his crew Belch, Pickle, the twins Crevice and Pitt, tiny Guff and Mr. Bogey the first mate, with huge nostrils, hairy ears and a cricket bat for a leg, he meets an Italian pirate ship manned by colorful non-smelly pirates with exotic birds on their heads. The adventures of Hairy Mole delight children with their ridiculous humor and simple stories. The books are fantastically illustrated with funny line drawings and text which squiggles and wiggles all over the page, making them ideal for children to start reading alone or to enjoy with an adult. ... Product Description
Hairy Mole thought he was the meanest, maddest, roughest, toughest pirate that ever lived. With a black bushy beard, rotten teeth and an eye patch (which he didn't really need), Hairy Mole was nearly as scary as his pirate crew. And then one day Hairy Mole decided that enough was enough. He would follow his dreams and sail his little ship out into the seven seas in search of adventures and jam....Come follow the adventures of Hairy Mole, who had wanted to be a pirate for as long as he could remember, and his gallant crew as they go out on their little pirate ship in search of treasure and jam. 5-0 out of 5 stars BEST TOP ROPERS GUIDE EVER
I live right down the street fomr stoney point and have never seen as complete a route book as this.Oh sure there are more, but this is the most complete book on stoney point.Although some routes change constantly because of the sandstone shaleing, it still give a general description of the routes and some VERY helpful tips on climbing.I got past a 5 12a that I had been working on for 3 months thanks to this book. Highly reccommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Urban Greatness
How lucky we are to be so close to a great area for top roping.ChrisOwen is clear about the climbs and routes. He has great topos and lookingthrough other guides over the years proves that this is no small feat.Iam so glad I have this guide, almost as glad as I am that I have StoneyPoint.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Information
This book provides valuable information (topos and ratings) on all theclimbs at Stoney. Mostly TR and boulders with very few leads. I have yet tofind another book with descriptions of these climbs. The nice thing about aguide like this is the consistent ratings provided for all the routes.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun book.
Lots of information here about the actual climbs, nice diagrams with wellwritten, interesting and sometimes funny descriptions of the routes.Quiteextensive, especially for top-roping. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great one by Chris Owen
I've never read a Chris Owen book I didn't love, and SHADY RIDGE & NEON SKY is no exception. Hank is quiet and tough, Charlie is big and cuddly, and together they make a scorching hot couple.

The sex in this book is out of this world. The first sex scenes are between Hank and the guys of his "relaxation team" that he visits twice a year. The rest of the scenes are between Hank and Charlie, and they sizzle. These big switch-hitting alpha cops enjoy lots of rough, sweaty sex...whew.Sit in front of a fan while reading this.

This is a fun, sexy read. Like in all of Ms. Owen's books, there's an actual plot. The story revolves around Hank and Charlie exploring their sexual attraction for each other, dealing with the pressures of a co-worker relationship, enjoying each other in and out of uniform, and falling in love along the way. Best of all, it's a Chris Owen romance, so you can count on a great balance of sex and emotion and a guaranteed HEA.

This is fantastic rainy day entertainment.I read it just after a string of real stinkers, and it restored my faith in M/M romance authors. Worth every cent. ... Read more

Product Description

The extremely calculated nature of heinous crimes and their perpetrators means that many leave little to no evidence. Often these cases are left open with scant hope of resolution, usually to the horror of affected families and friends. But thanks to rapidly developing advances in forensic techniques—especially in the fields of psychological, psychic, and DNA profiling—an increasing number of cases are being reexamined and solved years after the crimes were committed. Collected here are the incredible true stories of how some the most horrific murderers in existence were caught using astounding and unusual methods, sometimes decades after the fact. Filled with alarming crimes and captivating investigative techniques, these stories are proof that there is no such thing as a perfect murder.

Excerpt: Kenneth "Kenny" Anderson (born October 9, 1970) is a retired American basketball player. After a college career at Georgia Institute of Technology, he played point guard professionally from 19912006, most of which was in the National Basketball Association. As a 16-year-old high school sophomore, the LeFrak City, Queens native who attended academic and athletic powerhouse Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood, was considered one of the best basketball prospects in America. Collegiate recruiters began scouting Anderson in sixth-grade and he was on the front page of the New York City sports section when he was 14. By the end of his high school career, he was a three-time Parade All-American, a feat not accomplished since Lew Alcindor and the first player to be named All-City four times. In addition, he was a McDonald's All-American, Gatorade's high school player of the year and Player of the Year by the New York State Sportswriters Association, and was named New York State Mr. Basketball by the New York State Coaches Organization. He was also named Parade, Naismith, and USA Today player of the year. Despite his coach, Jack Curran, benching him for the first quarter of all of his games during his freshman year at Molloy, Anderson set the all-time state record for scoring in New York, with 2,621 points. This record stood until 2004, when Lincoln High School guard Sebastian Telfair eclipsed the mark late in his senior season. After a long recruiting process, Anderson signed a letter of intent in November 1988 to play at Georgia Tech, selecting the Yellow Jackets over North Carolina, Duke...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=2351254 ...
