IN THIS BOOK DOLLY PARTON LIVES IN MANY DIFFERENT PLACES SUCH AS IN A SMALL TOWN KNON AS LOCUST RIDGE,AND IN SEVIER COUNTY, TENNESSEE. DOLLY REBECCA PARTON WAS BORN ON JANUARY 19,1946 IN A LOG CABIN ON A RUTTED TRAIL IN SEVIER COUNTY,TENNESSEE. DOLLY HAS ONE OLDER SISTER,WILLADEENE, AND TWO OLDER BROTHERS,DAVID AND DENVER,THEN DOLLY WAS BORN, AFTER THAT SHE HAD EIGHT MORE BROTHERS AND SISTERS,BOBBY,STEELA,CASSIE,RANDY,LARRY,THE TWINS- FLOYD AND FRIEDA, THEN AT LAST RACHEL. THERE WERE 12 OF THEM IN ALL BUT ONLY A FEW HOURS AFTER HE WAS BORN LARRY DIED THE CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. DOLLY'S PARENTS WERE VERY YOUNG WHEN THEY GOT MARRIED HER MOM,AVIE LEE, WAS ONLY 15 AND HER FATHER WAS ONLY 17. WHEN DOLLY WAS A CHILD THEY DIDNT HAVE VERY MUCH MONEY, THEY WERE SO LOW ON MONEY THAT THEY COULDN'T EVEN BUY A CAR TO GET FROM HERE TO THERE THEY EITHER HAD TO WALK OR JUST NOT GO.DOLLY HAD ALWAYS DREAMED OF BECOMING A SINGER BUT SHE NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD ACCUALLY COME TRUE BUT BOY WAS SHE WRONG,SHE IS KNOWN WORLD WIDE FOR HER SINGING TALENTS. AS A CHLD HER MOTHER WOULD ALWAYS SAY THAT SHE HAD A SINGING VOICE BEFORE SHE COULD EVEN TALK.DOLLY WOULD SING AT HER UNCLE'S BACKWOOD CHURCH,ON 4:00 a.m. PROGRAMS, AND THEN AFTER SOMEONE ACCUALLE HEARD HER SING SHE GOT OT SING AT THE GRAND OLE OPRY IN NASHVILLE, DOLLY WAS HEADING FOR THE HEIGHTS OF COUNTRY MUSIC STARDOMAND ACCUALLY MADE IT SHE IS KNMOWN WORLD WIDE FOR HER SINGING, I JUST WISH THAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD HAPPEN TO ME. ... Ed Caraeff provides a unique perspective into the professional world of photography of superstars...in this case, Dolly Parton.Great photographs of Dolly from her "Here You Come Again", "Heartbreaker", and "Great Balls of Fire" album covers highlight the book.Mr. Caraeff provides some great "behind the scenes" stories and proclaims how he quickly became an avid Dolly Parton fan.One of my favorite stories from the book was how, after many shoots and many outfits, the jeans Dolly wears on the "Here You Come Again" cover (one of her best, if not THE best, of all her album covers) are the jeans she had on when early that morning he picked her up at her hotel room to go to the studio.This book is a "10" among Dolly Parton books, because of the magnificent photography (Mr. Caraeff is obviously quite talented) and the personal stories between Mr. Caraeff and Ms. Parton -- told from the heart. After releasing twounsuccessful singles as a teenager, Parton signed arecording contract with Monument Records in 1964, and movedto Nashville, Tennessee shortly afterward. In 1967,Monument released her debut album, Hello, I'm Dolly, whichspawned the hits, "Dumb Blonde" and "Something's Fishy,"which reached #24 and #17 respectively.
