5-0 out of 5 stars good reading
i had this book but my fur baby decided to read it and not much left.now was wanting to read it again and found it here.the service was much more than i expected.received it promptly and in great shape.would purchase from here again

5-0 out of 5 stars A Really Enjoyable Book
I loved this book so much that I bought it for a friend as aChristmas gift. Kathy Levine wrote this book with honesty.I admire her for that.I think it took courage to be able to write a tell all book.I watched Kathy for many years as host on QVC. If you are a shopping network buyer, and you knew Kathy, then you would really enjoy this book.Even if you didn't shop the Q, I am sure that you would love reading this funny heartwarming book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Interesting
I really enjoyed watching Kathy Levine on QVC. I was interested in what she had to say by reading some of the reviews. I purchased this book and couldn't put it down. She talks about behind the scenes of QVC and the Jeff & Judy Crowell saga. I never knew about those two. I think you will get a good kick out of this book. You can see Kathy on HSN now, but not as a host but a vendor with her own clothing line.

5-0 out of 5 stars Diva Delight
You really have to be a fan of QVC, America's leading retail broadcasting network, to appreciate this book. And if you are, you will!Within these pages, The Diva of Diamonique reveals everything! Secrets, desires, hopesand regrets. It's all here.If you watch QVC, you don't want to miss thisbook.

How she can keep her hands off that impossibly handsome Dan Hugesis simply beyond me!He makes my morning every single day! With hisMorning Show, at 7 p.m. EST.

Kathy's book is a real joy to read! Although most of us will ever get the chance to meet Kathy in person, thisbook offers us a personal look into her life.

As a Proud Gay Man, I amnot ashamed to admit that Kathy is a role-model for me.And my dream is tosomeday meet her.And maybe then she will introduce me to that hunk, DanHughes!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars An Honest view of Life and how to laugh at it.
Kathy tells all from grade school tonose jobs, from failures to success. I've read this book three times andlove every minute. ... Read more

Product Description
Oregon's Willamette River Basin, which encompasses some of the nation's richest farm and forest land, is also home to most of Oregon's citizens. More than two million people live in the Willamette Basin today, and that number is expected to reach nearly four million by the year 2050.

The "Willamette River Basin Planning Atlas" offers a valuable resource for anyone interested in the region's past, present, and future. Using a dazzling variety of color maps, charts, and photographs, the "Atlas" presents a vast amount of information intended to provide a long-term, large-scale view of changes in human and natural systems within the basin.

Five chapters provide information on current conditions and historical changes since 1850, focusing in turn on land forms and geology, water resources, plants and animals, land use, and human population.

Next, there is a detailed examination of how the basin may change between now and 2050 under three alternative scenarios for future land and water use: one assuming a continuation of current land use and management policies, the second assuming a loosening of current policies to allow freer development, and the third assuming greater emphasis on ecosystem protection and restoration.

The final chapter demonstrates how the information and analyses presented in the "Atlas" can be used to prioritize and design river restoration strategies. Although the focus is on the Willamette River and its floodplain, the book's approach provides a useful model that can be applied to other regions as well.

Intended for general readers and specialists alike, the "Atlas" provides information to help local citizens, policymakers, and scientists make better decisions about the Willamette River Basin and its future. ... Read more

NEEDED SOME PHOTOGRAPHS. I STILL COULDN'T DEFINITELY IDENTIFY POISON IVY, OAK OR SUMMAC. BUT I DID KNOW I HAD FOUND IT WHEN I BROKE OUT.

2-0 out of 5 stars This is NO Field Guide, pictues are poor
I was looking for a book to help identify the different poison ivy, oak,and sumac, against the "lookalikes" like the desciptionindicates. This book was written for a 10 year old with NO color pictures, and the pictures are nothing more than poor hand drawn sketches. Not atall a "Field Guide".

5-0 out of 5 stars essential guide for children and adults
This is an essential guide to poison ivy, oak and sumac and their lookalikes prevalent from East to West Coast, with cautionary tales which we can relate to, important information on increasing toxicity with each new contact, & illustrations helpful in distinguishing leaf types atall seasons. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Complex mystery
Marric isn't kind to his characters but lets the plot unwrap with a complexity and randomness close to real life. I don't think I've ever read a mystery with as many threads. All of them are centered around the Thames and all of them are eventually solved though some more successfully than others. Reading Gideon's River is like reading an entire series of mysteries in one go or watching an entire season of a cop show. ... Read more

Product Description
Hand signed publicity photo ofcomedy star Joan Rivers.American comedian, actress, talk show host, businesswoman, and celebrity. She is known for her brash manner and loud, raspy voice with a heavy metropolitan New York accent. Rivers is the National Chairwoman of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is a board member of God's Love We Deliver. Like the ground-breaking Phyllis Diller, Rivers' act relied heavily on poking fun at herself. A typical Rivers joke about her unattractiveness: "I used to stand by the side of the road with a sign: 'Last girl before freeway.'"This piece will be accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity. ... Excerpt: The Edinburgh Festival Fringe (The Fringe) is the worlds largest arts festival. Established in 1947 as an alternative to the Edinburgh International Festival, it takes place in Scotland's capital during three weeks every August alongside several other arts and cultural festivals, collectively known as the Edinburgh Festival, of which the Fringe is by far the largest. The Fringe mostly attracts events from the performing arts, particularly theatre and (the big growth area in recent years) comedy, although dance and music also figure significantly: in 2009 35% of shows were comedy and 28% were theatre. Theatre events can range from the classics of ancient Greece, William Shakespeare and Samuel Beckett, through to new works, and in 2009 37% of shows were world premieres. However, there is no selection committee to approve the entries it is an unjuried festival so any type of event is possible: the Fringe often showcases experimental works which might not be admitted to a more formal festival. In addition to ticketed events (included in the programme), there is an ongoing street fair, particularly on the Royal Mile. The organisers are the Festival Fringe Society: they publish the programme, sell tickets and offer advice to performers from the Fringe office on the Royal Mile. By way of scale, Fringe 2009 sold 1,859,235 tickets for 34,265 performances of 2,098 shows in 265 venues, over 25 days, for an average of over 74,000 admissions and 1,300 performances per day. 2-0 out of 5 stars The humor wears on you after awhile
The puzzles in this book are advertised as being traditional Chinese puzzles presented to children, and the author claims that some of them are centuries old. On the surface, that seems rather odd, because some of the puzzles that are in this book are based on Roman Numerals. These puzzles are an incorrect addition or subtraction problem involving Roman Numerals and the challenge is to move a small number of the "sticks" and make it correct. My skepticism about this is derived from the realization that it is unlikely that Chinese children have any significant exposure to Roman Numerals and so would have little understanding of what the puzzle is representing.
There are three categories of puzzles:
*) Sticks and shapes- for these puzzles, the solver is to move, add or remove a small number of sticks from the figure.
*) Sticks and numbers -in these puzzles, sticks are used to create numbers and arithmetic operators and the goal is to move, add or remove a small number of sticks to make the expression correct.
*) Words and numbers - these are puzzles expressed in verbal form, such as the classic of how to get the goat, wolf and cabbages across the river.
While there is no doubt that I had never encountered some of the puzzles appearing in this book that number is quite small compared to the total number. Most of the puzzles are standard content of books of puzzles, independent of the country of origin.
