Product Description
Nobody can dish morning TV like Al Roker, who's seen every side of a business that looks good on camera-even when sharks are circling inside the gleaming glass Manhattan media headquarters. Treachery abounds in Roker's riotously thrilling debut novel-at once an ingenious murder mystery and a delicious behind-the-scenes look at network TV. As fact and fiction collide and the backbiting ignites, The Morning Show Murders will make you wonder: How much of this stuff is real?Network TV can be murder. Just ask Billy Blessing, famous for his smile, charm, and ability to survive the shark tank that is high-stakes morning TV. But though Billy has outlived his fair share of prima-donnas, his cooking segment on Wake Up America! is a staple of the American diet, and his Manhattan bistro is a mega-success, his career has just taken a very dangerous turn: His show's perky cohost, Gin McCauley, has launched into some brass-knuckles contract negotiations. A visiting Mossad agent is about to tell all on the air. And then the network's head honcho is murdered in his luxury apartment, and an ambitious D.A. decides that Billy is to blame.Forensics show that Gerry Gallagher was poisoned and that the fatal coq au vin came from Billy's restaurant. Gerry had an impressive list of women in his black book-and a news assignment in Afghanistan had plunged the TV exec into the heart of a violent international secret. Now unsavory characters are coming out of the woodwork, and another murder strikes the show's inner circle. Billy knows that someone's trying to frame him. He also knows that a ruthless international assassin has just arrived in New York City. And suddenly, for the most trusted guy on TV the ultimate career move is not about ratings. It's about staying alive-and stopping the next murder from becoming tomorrow's breaking news. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a must have book
i got this book a few months ago. i had gastric bypass in feb. i only wish i had gotten it sooner. so imformative, and real. lots of great tips too. i have read alot of wls books and i believe this is the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Keeper!
I bought this book after my gastric bypass surgery.I was a member of the website already and Melissa and Dan helped me with all my questions and concerns-even more so than my own doctor!(who was difficult to reach sometimes)When I bought the book I read it in one sitting. If I was someone considering gastric bypass surgery this book would address all fears, concerns and doubts.Iloaned it to a friend who is considering the surgery. All I know is Melissa and Dan are kind, giving dedicated people who give their lives completely to helping people considering or who have had gastric bypass surgery. They have a huge following and they do their best to answer every single question posted-an exhausting undertaking. I loved the book and plan to share it with anyone it may help.

5-0 out of 5 stars THANK YOU!
Thank you for writing such an informative book.It is a "must have" for family members to read. We have gained so much information and appreciate the honesty and compassion that is reflected in the pages. The support that is given through the website "Weight Loss Connection" is a blessing!

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have if you are considering weight-loss surgery!
Reading this book was like having the author sitting right in front of you having a conversation.I wish I had had this book before my surgery.I have however gotten to know Melissa Parish (the author) from joining her website that shares the same name as her book (Weight-Loss Surgery Connection).I have been so pleased with the uplifting comments and help provided by Melissa and the rest of the group on-line.There (and the book as well) you get honest support and feedback from people who have actually gone through the surgery. Not a book written by a surgeon who while they may have performed hundreds of surgeries has never personally gone through what I go through on a daily basis.
I highly recommend this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars I know what went into this book
I and many others shared in this journey with Melissa and also know what a labor of love this book has been for her.She cares so deeply about the patients and the support group family and she actually answers every single email she receives (10,000+ per month) from patients all around the world. This book came from her heart and from the hearts of so many of the support family that shared their stories. It also is founded in solid information with bariatric professionals as the sources (ongoing too in answering questions) to make sure the answers are the correct ones. It's important to be an informed and proactive patient and look at perspectives and info from all angles. You can never have too much information or too many people that care enough to be there long term along your journey. If you haven't checked out the message board that goes with the book, please do!You'll find a fantastic group of people that will be your friends for life.[...] ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Legend of Box Butte Canyon
The book was great.Funny, interesting, a great read. Many reading interests in this book. Can't wait for the next one!

5-0 out of 5 stars I have seen Box Butte Canyon in my mind's eye!
I have read this book, and LOVE IT! The story is one even your grandmother will love, and your 13 year old can read! The beauty of Nebraska could be seen through the author's discriptions, and the feel of the sadness the tribe faces flows off the pages. I enjoy westerns(movies) like Lonesome Dove, Man from Snowy River, Broken Trail....
This book easily falls into the lines of these great movies. You could see the pages unfold right into a movie scene! It is nice to see a freshness to the western genre. The next book Ride To Destiny should be very entriguing, as it is a story of the same characters, in a new light.
Thank you Scott for the new light in the westerns section of the shelves!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Legend Of Box Butte Canyon
The Legend Of Box Butte Canyon I just finished this novel on Monday I was very impressed with the author's non use of vulgar language. The story itself puts a unique spin on the plight of the Native Americans. I found myself beside the charactars as they were trying to help Running Water's tribe escape from the fate that had been bestowed upon them. You will find yourself crying, laughing, and learning along with Doug & Allen. The author's style reminds me of Louis L'AMOUR. His discriptions of the scenery and battles had me actually seeing them as if I was there. This is a story with many morals and values. The author draws the reader in,allowing you to use YOUR own imagination. A book for all ages!!! I look forward to reading his next novel A Ride to Destiny.. ... Read more

I read Mr. Roker's first book, and I can't wait to read this one! His characters are so read, you feel like you are right there with them, experiencing the events with them. His books are written as if you are listening to real conversations, not just reading a book.I don't read westerns often, but anyone would like reading Mr. Roker's books.Very well written.

Fabulous story!I had no clue that a western, set in Nebraska, could take such turns and literally make you feel as though you have stepped right into the story. This is a wonderful read for anyone. Such a fabulous combination of Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour. I look forward to reading where the next adventure takes Doug and Allen. ... Read more
