Product Description
Here is a feast for McCaffrey fans -- three linked novels now available on audio. In the Powers That Be, strange things are happening on the icy planet of Petaybee. Unauthorized genetically engineered species have been spotted and yet the locals are deliberately hiding something -- perhaps even plotting rebellion. When the natives of Petaybee nurse company spy Yana back to health, she becomes determined to protect her new home and its people from the depredations of an increasingly ruthless company. Power Lines, the next novel, unfolds as only solid evidence will convince the company to leave the planet alone, and for all its sentience, Petaybee's communications are highly subjective. That leaves it to Yana and her friends to find some other way to prove that the planet is worth more to the company alive than dead. In Power Play we find that day by day the sentient planet is learning to recognize and understand the meaning of outside stimuli ... even to use human speech. Only Petaybee can speak for itself and no one knows what a living planet can do once it has found its voice. ... Read more

Product Description
Hand signed publicity photo of actress Marina Sirtis.Sirtis appeared in all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and her character was developed from a more passive therapist to tougher Starfleet officer, much to Sirtis's approval. Initially, Sirtis's character was proposed to be the brains of the ship.During her time on the show, she became close friends with her co-stars Jonathan Frakes (who played her on-again/off-again lover Commander Riker), Michael Dorn, and Brent Spiner. In fact, cast members Spiner and Dorn were groomsmen at her wedding.Sirtis has also reprised her character of Deanna Troi in Star Trek: Voyager on several occasions, and in all of the Next Generation feature films, and also in the series finale of Star Trek: Enterprise. She is one of only six actors to play the same character on three different Star Trek series. This piece will be accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific science fiction
I absolutely love these productions, and it's a terrible shame that Sci-Fi no longers makes these available through their website.

Seeing Ear Theatre is a much mourned loss.

5-0 out of 5 stars Into the Sun!
WOW what a story! Brian Smith could sell this as a short story by itself it is so good IMO. I just wish they sold a hard copy of these writings--not just audio! I have been reading Sci Fi for a long time. This guy is great!Reminds me of 2001, a space odyssey a bit. Worth the price just for thisone folks!I noticed there are no other books by Brian Smith for sale onAmazon. What's up with that? He needs to write books, and Amazon needs tosell them--geez, do I make myself clear?

4-0 out of 5 stars Very compelling stories
This tape is well done. The sound effects create an atmosphere that draws in the listener. The actors are dramatic, but not overly so.The short stories themselves are well written, delivering edge-of-the-chair suspense(or knee-slapping comedy, as the case may be).

4-0 out of 5 stars It's finally here....and worth the wait!
As most net surfers are aware the Sci-Fi Channel's web site has included a section devoted to science fiction radio drama...Seeing Ear Theatre. One aspect of which includes originally producedproductions ceratedespecially for the site and which has featured performances by manywell-known SF actors as Micheal O'Hare,Mark Hamill,Marina Sirtis, andothers. With a few exceptions, a lot of the dramas are based on recentshort stories by SF writers such as Terry Bisson, Allen Steele, John Kesseland Gergory Benford. With the release of this audiobook editon(whichincludes introductions by SF's resident angry young{sic}man HarlanEllison)now one can listen to these stories anytime you want. The beststories(IMO)are the Three Odd Comedies and The Death of Captain Future(which despite the pulpish-sounding title is a darkly humorous tale set inthe future history of Steele's previous works such as Orbital Decay andClarke County,Space). If you like audio drama-- especially newly producedaudio drama...you'll love this collection and you may also want to checkout Vol. 2 which should be on sale soon(I know I can't wait). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Marina Sirtis and the members of the Radio Repertory cast
Lieutenant Nancy Coy serves the Amalgamation, a league of planets threatened by the Consortium. When the planet Quatro Cinco is attacked, Lieutenant Coy is assigned to Kurk Manly, a once famous starship pilot who has become a hopeless drunk. It's up to Lieutenant Coy and Kurk Manly to somehow overcome sinister plots, deadly space battles, and even their own military hierarchy to save the planet and preserve the Amalgamation. Marina Sirtis and the members of the Radio Repertory cast perform wonderfully to provide a thrilling, very highly recommended, science fiction adventure that is heavily laced throughout with humor, action, music and sound effects.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun sci-fi romp by two masters
An enjoyable romp through a fun world by two masters of sci-fi, Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Anne Scarborough.Well detailed and lovingly crafted world. An enjoyable protagonist. It has sequels, but stands well alone. Would be good for juvenile readers as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Adventure
I have been a fan of Anne McCaffery for a lot of years, she never disappoints. She has left me hanging on the edge of my seat wondering what was next!

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 stars for the idea...
The idea is beyond wonderful, I REALLY want to live on this planet McCaffrey and Scarborough have created. That being said I've worried about McCaffrey for some time as her books in recent years have... well... Let's just say she may feel in a hurry or something. Elizabeth has written other books alone, that I have found enjoyable, and own, so this can't be all or even mostly her fault. I do read this trilogy over and over, but a good bit of that time is spent with the book face down and me daydreaming. And oddly enough only those darn cats, the planet itself, and the large beaming medicine woman from the novels feature at all in my daydreams...

1-0 out of 5 stars pitiful
Alas, Ms. McCaffrey strikes again. Throughout her writing, she is plagued by....bad writing. Her ideas are wonderful, and if only properly executed, could make up wonderful books.Too bad that she, and this book in particular (the early Pern books were not so bad) is predictable, inconsistant and sloppy. She might care to try reading her books and noticing the number of things that change from page to page. This is particularly infuriating, as it should not be so difficult to avoid.Unfortunately, she appears not to have made this one small effort. In this book, there was a) no character development worth speaking of, b) no surprises or involving moments, and c) much that rang false and superficial. Not worth reading, except on a desert island.

3-0 out of 5 stars I like this book!
I liked this book, which was quite surprising since i never really likedscience fiction before. im eager to read the next 2 books. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mystery, romance and mysticism continue
This is the 2nd book in the first trilogy of the Griffin and Sabine series. Sabine is on her way to visit Griffin and in a panic, he leaves, telling her to stay in his place. Their correspondence continues, with Griffin traveling around the world, discovering more about each other through there letters. When he returns, he finds her not there and yet by her letters she was. Is she imagined or are things more complicated than they appear? The artwork continues to striking and I found myself zipping from letter to letter to find out what was going to happen, only to be left in mystery again. Their relationship deepens further in this book. The third book beckons and I look forward to perhaps some explanation or conclusion, but perhaps we will be left in the shroud of mystery, which might not be such a bad thing after all.

5-0 out of 5 stars All expectations exceeded in this masterpiece found at Amazon!
Thoroughly original and wildly creative, this second part of the trilogy of Griffin and Sabine will surprise & delight for a lifetime. The combination of art and plot galvanizes interest from the very first page. This is a not-to-be-missed adventure. For lovers of language, ideas, and the renewing capacity of the human spirit, this book is a must.

5-0 out of 5 stars Griffin and Sabine Review
My book came quickly and in great condition. It was exactly as described.I found it and interesting and entertaining story.I would definitely purchase from this seller again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fascinating!
This little book originally came to my attention when a friend showed me a library copy. I was taken by surprise at the original, insightful premise and the unique art and design. It appears to be a series of letters, written between two people who've never met. The book completely enthralled me - and was finished far too quickly. Fortunately, the author has written two companion books available as a set of all three. I'll be getting that one; I gave this copy to friend for her birthday!

5-0 out of 5 stars A mystical romance told through beautifully illustrated cards and letters
This is the first book in a two trilogy series.Through a series of postcards and letters we meet Griffin and the mysterious Sabine. Griffin is an artist, with a line of custom postcards. Griffin first receives a postcard from Sabine in which she comments on one of the prior versions of a card with a fish and a wineglass. The curious thing is that no-one else has seen this earlier version. The two begin a correspondence, and develop a deep closeness and a romance begins. Griffin learns that Sabine is across the world from him on a small island, where she draws and illustrates the island's postage. There remain questions throughout the book on wheter Sabine is real or a figment of Griffin's desire and need for connection. The book is unique in that the letters are in evelopes attached to the pages and must be pulled out to read. The artistry and artwork are absolutely gorgeous.

3-0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately wet!
I love Griffin and Sabine and purchased it as a gift for a very good friend. It arrived on my doorstep in a timely manner, but sadly had been damaged by the rain. The cardboard it was wrapped in was shriveled and this unfortunate quality was also true of the book's dust jacket.I don't know whether this would be considered an issue with the postal service or with the packaging (i.e. the sender), but save the damage to the dust jacket, I was extremely pleased with the book and its arrival time.
