Good, but I wish it was longer
This was a good biography of one of my favorite actors, the talented Dean Stockwell, but when I finished, I felt there could have been more. It didn't feel quite as finished as other biographies I'd read. Plus, there were no pictures! Boo! I'm a big photo fan (but there's plenty to be found on the internet...). Pictures would have been nice. Otherwise, it's a fairly good biography; I just felt it was lacking a little more depth in some places.

How accurate is an "unauthorized" biography?
The professional information is most likely accurate. A listing
of movies and television roles for Dean Stockwell could be found
in a number of places, and then used in this book.You cannot,
however, really vouch for all other information if the author
never even had the chance to interview the actor and find out if
stories and anecdotes are true.I didn't get the impression that
anything was over-played, but I still wondered if we had the whole
story.Being something of a Dean Stockwell fan, I would rather
like to know that he was really well-represented by a book such
as this.(I do have to say, though, that the author of this
book never made me feel that she was trying to sensationalize

Collages for pondering
Stockwell's art is as eclectic as his acting career. I am not a professional artist or art critic, but his collages really make me think. He has a unique perspective to find links in ordinary items to inspire one to look deeper into the details, finding hidden meanings. My personal favorite is Wet Dreams, but Eclipse of the Sun, Pandora's Box, and Dream House are also favorites. As with all true art, the photos in the book do not do justice to his true work.I highly recommend visiting a live show if you can get to a gallery with his works. For those of us who cannot afford to purchase an original, this book allows us to view some of his work. Great actor - better artist. ... Read more

Ham-it-up Horror
hmmmmmmm interesting, totally overacted. although it does cheer me up at times. Although I have to admit, if I want to get rid of people at the end of an evening, then this is the tape that will do it! Listening to this version is sure to set any shivers down your spine, than any un-namable, amorphous, writhing mass of tentacles (choose your preference) that any of Lovecraft's creations possess. If you're a lover of Lovecraft's work, then I would advise getting hold of the version read by Robert M. Price, which is produced by Necronomicon Press

Poor Version of a Horror Classic
Where is it written that all dramatizations of Lovecraft have to be doneby overacting, community theater rejects?I tried listening to thisridiculous excuse for a radio drama, and I had high hopes.Instead, Iheard over-acting that made me cringe!The adaptation wasscatter-brained and thin.It was far too short to properly handle thisstory, which is one of the greatest Lovecraft stories.If you loveLovecraft, as I do, STAY AWAY FROM THIS VERSION! I have gotten rid ofmy copy of this horrible tape, but I still can't get the bad taste out ofmy mouth.
