5-0 out of 5 stars Grandson's other Cow Book.
He had a lot of fun learning about cows like his DAD's. And he's only 10.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book for the beginner.
This book provides a solid foundation for raising of beef cattle.Of course, it can't replace learning by experience but it does provide some basic information that allows you to get started and understand why and how certain things occur while raising cattle.

It's a great book that takes on a huge subject, identifies the basic needs and addresses them well.Highly recommended.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Book but not on a Kindle
The pictures and tables are very poor quality on the Kindle and can not be zoomed.I have the paper copy and find it useful but a lot of value is lost by losing the pictures/diagrams/tables.

4-0 out of 5 stars In depth
This book has in depth chapters on cattle/calf health full of information that can help in keeping cattle healthy and reducing operational cost.Good concentration on beef cattle. The author goes the extra mile in illustrating to the reader the operational nuances of cattle ranching.

5-0 out of 5 stars Storey's wrote the book, again!
Anyone familiar with the Storey's line of books already knows this book is worth buying. I have this series for a variety of barnyard critters and find them all to be a complete resource on raising and caring for my animals. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great trashy read!
Engaging book with lots of subplots, plenty of people to get into, and of course, sexual encounters that are well described. An easy read and fun as well. The story draws you in and it's easy to get involved in.The rich men are bluntly described and the single women are your usual California babes trying to find Mr. Perfect, usually at a cost.I enjoyed this book and while reading, could hardly wait to see what was going to happen next.Hope you enjoy it too! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This book is INCREDIBLE!
You will be amazed at how creative the authors are and how easy the ideas are to implement. They design the book so you can try every technique and build your own 'scrapbook' of ideas. They also show great ideas on combining techniques for great results.

I have used these ideas for clothing embellishing, quilts, cloth book covers, and wine bottle covers (for gifts). Its an easy way to get "oohs and ahhs" for your work.

Worth evey penny!

5-0 out of 5 stars clear and inspiring
This book inspires those who need that extra encouragement to try something new. The clear and concise instuctions make the "new" processes look easy. I am using some of the techniques in my studio classes this fall.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous
I love the step by step photography, really well presented. It just encourages you to fall in step with the artists and be creative yourself. This will be one of my often "go to for inspiration books".

4-0 out of 5 stars Good beginner book with a lot of techniques
I would not consider this book if you have been dabbling in this kind of stuff for very long or have other books on the subject. There really is nothing new in here. But it is a wonderful book if you just can't resist and collect as I do.Actually it is bad here. I have a hard time turning down a new book but am often disappointed that there is nothing new in them. Of course, I don't know what I would expect. Something new.....what would that be? Enjoy it if you must have it as i did. It is a nice book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and idea creating!
This book has so many ideas in it that a person could go crazy! It is a great book. ... Read more

Product Description
Today we live and work with people of many religious faiths. We need to understand what they believe. THE PATH is an entertaining way to learn about some of the major religions of the world. The novel is set in the time of Jesus.Nathan is eleven years old when he is taken from his home in Jerusalem and plunged into an adventurous life on the old Silk Road.He meets a Confucian cook, studies with a Hindu guru, enters a Buddhist monastery, meets Zoroastrian magi, and, as he returns to the land of Israel, he encounters Jesus of Nazareth. As he grows in age and understanding, he comes to see that there is truth and beauty in all of these religions. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Path: A Spiritual Journey
An excellent comparison of different faiths and the beliefs that they have in common. Written so that you would read it to your 10 year old and both you and the child will enjoy and be edified.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Path: A Spiritual Journey
This novel is for the whole family. The Path: Spiritual Journey makes you think about the religions across the world. There is only one God no matter what name you put on Him.I feel like this novel has put everything in the right perspective.I am sharing this book with family and friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspiring
Review by Deah Jackson for Reader Views (3/06)

I have to say that I was skeptical of an "educational novel" or "religious fiction" as some have categorized this book. But if any book is an educational novel "The Path: A Spiritual Journey" is just that! To me, I would call it an "educational page turner", so that more people would pick up this fantastic book. "The Path" follows the journey of a young Jewish boy Nathan, who experiences tragedy early on in his life and goes on a life journey. Along his journey, Nathan meets and encounters different people who become his teachers/mentors and also finds and experiences love. I don't want to give away too much of the plot - but it is such a great story with an excellent message about how more similar than different religions are, and about faith.

I was surprised how much I learned about other religions by reading this book. The authors must have done so much research gathering accurate and historical information, and then weaving it into the story line. One would think that the story would be lost with all of the information that is contained in this book, but that is not the case. I almost cried within the first several chapters, and rooted for Nathan coming into his own and finding his place throughout the whole story. It is a story that will pull you in emotionally and intellectually.

I would recommend this book for anyone who wants a good read, or anyone who wants to learn more about other religions;...basically anyone. I wish that my Philosophy and Religion professor knew about this book when I took the course my sophomore year in college, because I got so much more from reading this book than 16 weeks in a college course!!

All I can say is that when I finished "The Path," I was pleasantly surprised, educated and finished the book a more inspired and open-minded woman! Five stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful, Enlightening Journey
This book was one I couldn't put down. Not only was it entertaining, it was educational in a "non-lecturing" way.It introduces the concepts and fundamentals of many religious beliefs and reminds us that many of the world's religions are more similar than we think. The authors obviously have a passion for their topic and thankfully shared their passion with us.I highly recommend this great book!

5-0 out of 5 stars I was hooked on this book.
Ask me to study ancient history, and I would decline.Ask me to study information about the world's major religions and I would reluctantly.Provide information about the major religions as the adventuresome journey, between 7AD-16AD, of a young man in his teens, and you have me hooked. And hooked I was on Heather and Verne Thomas' well-crafted and imaginative book, The Path: A Spiritual Journey, which sets the adventurous journey of Nathan, a young man in his teens, against the historical background of the Silk Road.Instruction packaged in an entertaining "coming of age" adventure renders it an excellent book for reading/discussion in book clubs, Sunday School classes and other avenues of religious education. As a retired teacher of English literature, licensed professional counselor, and published author, I highly recommend it. ...
