Product Description

Twice chosen for People magazine's "The 50 Most Beautiful People in the World" feature, and widely hailed as the most captivating actress on daytime television, Hunter Tylo may seem untouchable, a star out of our orbit. Nothing, as she reveals in this candid autobiography, could be further from the truth. This is the story of a down-to-earth woman -- mother, wife, and friend -- whose grace and class in the face of extraordinary challenges are an inspiration. Meet the real Hunter Tylo and get to know a remarkable person.

As Dr. Taylor Hayes, the sexy psychiatrist of CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful -- seen by 350 million daily viewers worldwide -- Hunter brings to life a complex character whose "compassion can sometimes turn to passion, " as the actress describes her; it is this quality that exemplifies Hunter's life as well: she has emerged as a woman whose understated strength turns obstacles into triumphs.

Here at last, Hunter tells the complete story of her successful court battle against the producers of Melrose Place, who had fired her before she appeared in a single episode because she became pregnant.

But Hunter's motherhood odyssey has taken dramatic twists more heart-wrenching than any television drama. For the first time, Hunter tells the story of her infant daughter Katya's rare eye cancer -- and how her deeply rooted Christian faith has seen her through the ordeal.

With honesty and without pretension, Hunter Tylo also takes chances in Making A Miracle -- by revealing much that her millions of fans do not yet know, including a personal crisis that left her to make a choice no woman should have to make. Reading these candid revelations, you may come to see Hunter Tylo in a new light -- and perhaps understand more of who she is and what forces motivate her every day.

Beyond the glamour of stardom and celebrity, Making A Miracle is a story about motherhood; for Hunter Tylo, it is the role of a lifetime. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and not Bold
This book is the inspirational story of Bold and the Beautiful star Hunter Tylo, once classed asbeing amongst the most 50 beautiful women in the world.Unfortunately plastic surgery has changed that. She tells of her early life and her struggles at dealing with the "STAR" system in hollywood and of her legal case with Spelling Productions which she won.It also details her daughters fight with eye cancer and the amazing outcome which she attributes to her profound religious beliefs. An interesting and moving biography.

5-0 out of 5 stars "A Story Of A Determined Woman"
"The Bold and the Beautiful" has always been my favorite soap opera since I discovered it in January, 1996, and the main reason I love it so is the performance of Hunter Tylo as Dr. Taylor Forrester. So it was with great anticipation that I came across a copy of her autobiography that she published in 2001. I read the book in two sittings. She discusses her meeting husband Michael Tylo when they were both on ABC's "All My Children" back in the 1980's and how fellow cast mate Taylor Miller tried to interfere in their relationship. She eventually married Tylo, had children, and moved to California where she worked on "Days of Our Lives" for a year, where she encountered problems working with a leading man. She left that show and Bill Bell hired her for her most popular role on "The Bold and the Beautiful". Hunter discusses problems with cast member Kimberlin Brown who played wacko Shelia Carter, how they beacme good friends, only to find that friendship tarnished when Brown hired security guards at the CBS studios to keep Hunter away from her. The most interesting part of the book deals with Aaron Spelling hiring Hunter for "Melrose Place" in the '90's, eventually firing her when she became pregnant. Not taking this lightly Hunter hired a high powered attorney, sued Spelling for millions, and won the case. Hunter also writes about her little girl's problem with eye cancer, domestic violence, and her faith. Since "Making A Miracle's" publication many other things have happened to Hunter; she was let go from "The Bold and The Beautiful" in 2001 (her character was killed off by of all people, Shelia Carter!) only to return to the show four years later because of the huge outcry from fans, her divorce from Michael Tylo, and most devastingly the death of her son from a pool accident. I am hoping Hunter is working on a seqeul to her first book. I will be the first to buy it. Hunter is a survivor, a wonderful mother and actress, and most of all a woman her keeps her faith in the most difficult of times. She is an example to all of us.

4-0 out of 5 stars Personality [problems] Plus
I used to watch B&B so I knew who Tylo was. On B&B she acts fairly prim and proper so I was really surprised to read about her chronic immaturity and endless selfish behaviour.

She seems to have attempted to grow up during her life, and for that I must give her credit, her life must have been difficult, after all her bad behaviour is the product of it.

Tylo must have really loved her husband, in spite of his immaturity... they have both behaved really badly during their time together, but they stayed together for many years and tried hard to hold on to their marriage.

The fact that she maintained an 18 year marriage is something I must also give her credit for as being married is not always easy, the current trend for modern couples is to divorce after 7 years.

Tylo did cheat on her husband but she was never interested in cheating for the sake of climbing any social or financial ladders.

Unfortunately, Hunter cheated on her husband to manipulate him into having his vasectomy reversed.

Not that she admits that... but if you read the book you'll get a good picture of her thought processes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking
Hunter tells a wonderful story about her life, all the things she has had to deal with and how she survived. It is never boring and I have to admit, as much as I already love her, I loved her even more. I can't believe she has been through all of this and has become so much stronger.

5-0 out of 5 stars wonderful

5-0 out of 5 stars All That A Regency Novel Should Be
I enjoyed this story very much.I love Regency novels that start out often as 'a marriage of convenience' and end up in all happiness. At no point in the story did I find myself thinking that this story had a weak plot or an uninteresting point. It ended as all Regency novels should end,and the author had a good way of explaining the love scenes with flairwithout going into explicitness!I hope to read more of Teresa Des Jardienin the future. ...
