5-0 out of 5 stars The essential Jacques Villeneuve
This book is incredible. The photography is outstanding and the insight into the private world of Jacques Villeneuve was interesting. He's an extremely private individual and still hasn't given everything away - but for now, this book is well worth the effort.

5-0 out of 5 stars A closer look at a champion!
There is no doubt that the photography in this book is spectacular.Any JV fan will appreciate getting a priviledged glimpse into his life - on and off the track, but was the picture of him at the urinal reallynecessary!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Villeneuve book on the market!
The pictures in this book give an impression on his personal life rather than just his career. It is good to be able to get the chance to see into their personal life without mobbing them on the streets.

5-0 out of 5 stars Meraviglioso...
I bought this book last year...Good pics (Italian photographer, you know...!), good lines. The impression you get about Jacques is that he's too pure to be true..I think that Gianni Giansanti cought the very essenceof this young racing driver. I expecially like the pic at the end of thebook, showing Jacques sitting in front of a window open over a big city(San Paolo in Brazil, if I remember well), in the shade, so that you canonly get the shape of his body. Wonderful Jacques!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST JV BOOK I'VE EVER READ. BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As soon as you open the book, the photos jump out at you. If you read F1 Racing magazine and enjoy the pictures they have in there, you will love the pictures in this incredible collection of JV shots. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding perspective on how JV became the man he is.
Impressions of Jacques from key people involved in his life at every stage, from Canada through Italy, Monaco, Japan and the US. The unfortunate absence of input from JV serves to provide a reasonably objective account. Collings does not fawn over the young hero, but lets those who knew him at important points paint a rich background scene for the recent portrait we know so well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but seems to be one of those un-authorized Bios
The book dives into history and give you a lot of details about Jacques, his father and his travels through life.A lot of the information is from other sources and it appears Jacques himself wasn't interested in being involved with the book. Each person contributing, of course, has their own ideas of Jacques, but if you can sift through all of that it is a great book.It really gives you a perspective of how somebody like Jacques, young and with a famous last name can break into the bigtime.Jeff Mulvihill, Jr. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars In his own right - and how to write it wrong! :)
Don't get me wrong - this is a very good book to read and is full of interesting background information on Jacques early life and career up to entering F1.The main problem I have with the book is not the information or content but the sychophantic style Hilton has.He writes the book from the approach of a starry-eyed fan convinced of the fact that his subject is already a legend rather than taking a less biased journalistic approach. He is never content to let any of his sources say anything bad at all about Jacques and even goes so far as to "interpret" what they really mean. The most glaring example of this is the interview with Richard Spenard (ran or still runs the F2000 school in Canada) where Spenard compares him with his father (two completely different backgrounds by the way) and states "He struck me as spoilt (deep chuckle), you know, definitely not like Gilles." and Hilton finds it necessary to point out (in italics) "Let's be careful about spoilt because, in this context, it has two meanings: given everything you want, or having a comfortable upbringing.Spenard, I sense, means the latter - something quite different."Why does Hilton find it neccesary to compromise what could have been a good objective look at the man and keep injecting his unobjective view? All in all though it is a good read, if you ignore the author's annoying thoughts, and I read it in one sitting.David Sidwell ... Product Description
When Jacques Villeneuve moved to Formula 1 he endured endless comparisons between himself and his late father Gilles. But Jacques Villeneuve proved his brilliance, not least by winning the 1995 IndyCar Championship. This updated biography of Villeneuve analyzes his first two seasons with the Williams team. It also includes: his Formula 1 debut season fighting team-mate Damon Hill for the World Championship; the expectations, disappointments and controversies of the stormy 1997 season, right up to the title clincher; Villeneuve's rivalry with his partners, other drivers and Michael Schumacher; his childhood as the only son of Ferrari legend Gilles Villeneuve; his own route into racing, and how "the name" helped and hindered; Italian and Japanese Formula 3 and North American Formula Atlantic; and how, aged 24, Villeneuve became the youngest IndyCar champion for over 40 years. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Jacques Rocks!!
This book is a must read for Formula One fans. Gerald Donaldson has done a great job in putting together the 1st Formula One season of Jacques Villeneuve. It a fasinating look into what a driver must do to prepare for a race, and win.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great perspective on JV as well as the 1996 season!
The book picks upwith Jacques after he finishes up his Indy car responsibilities and prepares to drive for Williams in F1. It then traces a chronological "race by race" summary of 1996 from Australia to Japan. You learn not only what happened during the races in detail from the driver's perspective but also what is expected of an F1 driver before, during and in between races. The book is well written and provides tons of details both about Jacques personally and F1 in general. A must for JV fans! ... Read more

Product Description
Greg Moore began racing professionally when he was just sixteen. In 1997, at the age of twenty-two, he guided his Indy car to victory at Milwaukee, becoming the youngest winning driver in CART history. GREG MOORE: A LEGACY OF SPIRIT portrays this young driver's life from his first forays behind the wheel in the parking lot of his father's automobile dealership to his races on major tracks around the world. This book does not end with Greg's tragic death at the California Speedway in October 1999, but it focuses on his accomplishments as a race driver, his personal and family life, and the sense of humor he became known for.

From his closest family and friends to his racing crew and competitors, readers will gain insights into the passions that drove Greg Moore both on and off the racetrack. The book is rich with quotations and observations from those who touched his life and whose lives were touched by his. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Greg Moore Foundation. The Foundation will support the work that Greg started on behalf of a number of local and national charities and scholarships. This authorized book is the only publishing project endorsed by the Moore family. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars very well done.
great writing, great photography and great memories by some of his closest friends. a must have for any fan of greg moore, or any fan of CART/Champcar.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best
This is a super book, A must in every CART fan's book collection. Just a shame it had to be written.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greg Moore: A Legacy of Spirit
When you combine the writing skills of Gordon Kirby and the legend of Greg Moore you get an outstanding book. There must be some really great racing going on in heaven.Although no book could do justice to Greg's life, this book comes close. I love everything that Gordon writes and this book is one of the most highly prized. This book is mandatory for any true Cart fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovely
It's an awesome review on Greg's life, with hundreds of color pictures... It tells the story beautifully. A must for every Greg and CART fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worthy tribute for motorsport hero in the making: Greg Moore
This book about the young Canadian motorsport icon honours the life of one of the most cheerful and passionate drivers in CART racing. As a fellow Canadian, I have been well-informed about the young Maple Ridge, B.C. native and have enjoyed watching him climb to the top of the victory podium. A terrific biography of Greg Moore has been collected in a very indept account told by his beloved family through pictures and excerpts. Excellent pictures tell the journey that Greg Moore had taken from his first encounter with a motorized vehicle to the 1999 season where he drove the 800-plus horsepower Players champ racing machine.

It is hard to believe after looking at this book that a young Canadian who was taken from this earth all too soon could live such a full life. ... Read more

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Jacques Joseph Charles Villeneuve, OQ is a Canadian automobile racing driver. He is the son of Formula One driver Gilles Villeneuve, and is the namesake of his uncle (also a racer). Jacques Villeneuve won the 1995 CART Championship, the 1995 Indianapolis 500 and the 1997 Formula One World Championship, making him only the third driver after Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi to achieve such a feat. To date, no other Canadian has won the Indianapolis 500 or the F1 Drivers' title.Following two successful years in CART, Villeneuve moved into Formula One with the front running Williams team, alongside Damon Hill. In his debut season, Villeneuve challenged Hill for the title, winning four races and taking the fight to the final round in Japan. But the Canadian retired and Hill won the title. Villeneuve, however, did win the following year's title, this time challenging Michael Schumacher and once again taking it to the final round in Jerez. ... Read more

Kapitel: Jacques Villeneuve, Gilles Villeneuve, Eppie Wietzes, George Eaton, John Cannon, Peter Ryan, Peter Broeker, William Brack, Allen Berg, John Cordts, Al Pease. Aus Wikipedia. Nicht dargestellt. Auszug: Jacques Joseph Charles Villeneuve, OQ (French pronunciation: ) (born April 9, 1971 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) is a Canadian automobile racing driver. To date, no other Canadian has won the Indianapolis 500 or the F1 Drivers' title. Following two successful years in CART, Villeneuve moved into Formula One with the front running Williams team, alongside Damon Hill. In the race, the two collided, resulting in Schumacher's retirement and subsequent disqualification from the 1997 World Championship, with Villeneuve going on to take third place in the race, and the overall title. 1997 would be the last year in which Villeneuve would win a championship level race and finish the season in the top three, and his career declined afterwards. Renault had pulled out of Formula One for 1998 and Villeneuve's Williams team had to fare with less competitive Mecachrome engines. Villeneuve moved to the newly formed British American Racing team in 1999 and stayed there for the next four seasons but, following poor results he was replaced by former British Formula Three Champion Takuma ...http://booksllc.net/?l=de ... Excerpt: Joseph Gilles Henri Villeneuve, better known as Gilles Villeneuve, (French pronunciation: ) (January 18, 1950 May 8, 1982) was a Canadian racing driver. An enthusiast of cars and fast driving from an early age, he started his professional career in snowmobile racing in his native province of Quebec. He moved into single seaters, winning the US and Canadian Formula Atlantic championships in 1976, before being offered a drive in Formula One with the McLaren team at the 1977 British Grand Prix. He was taken on by reigning world champions Ferrari for the end of the season and from 1978 to his death in 1982 drove for the Italian team. He won six Grand Prix races in a short career at the highest level. In 1979 he finished second by four points in the championship to team-mate Jody Scheckter. Villeneuve died in a 140 mph (225 km/h) crash with the March of Jochen Mass during qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder. The accident came less than two weeks after an intense argument with his team-mate, Didier Pironi, over Pironi's move to pass Villeneuve at the preceding San Marino Grand Prix. At the time of his death, Villeneuve was extremely popular with fans and has since become an iconic figure in the history of the sport. His son, Jacques V...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=86632 ...
