Excerpt: Jacques Joseph Charles Villeneuve, OQ (French pronunciation: ) (born April 9, 1971 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) is a Canadian automobile racing driver. He is the son of Formula One driver Gilles Villeneuve, and is the namesake of his uncle (also a racer). Jacques Villeneuve won the 1995 CART Championship, the 1995 Indianapolis 500 and the 1997 Formula One World Championship, making him only the third driver after Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi to achieve such a feat. To date, no other Canadian has won the Indianapolis 500 or the F1 Drivers' title. Following two successful years in CART, Villeneuve moved into Formula One with the front running Williams team, alongside Damon Hill. In his debut season, Villeneuve challenged Hill for the title, winning four races and taking the fight to the final round in Japan. But the Canadian retired and Hill won the title. Villeneuve, however, did win the following year's title, this time challenging Michael Schumacher and once again taking it to the final round in Jerez. In the race, the two collided, resulting in Schumacher's retirement and subsequent disqualification from the 1997 World Championship, with Villeneuve going on to take third place in the race, and the overall title. 1997 would be the last year in which Villeneuve would win a championship level race and finish the ...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=64258 ... Excerpt: Mark Alan Webber (born 27 August 1976) is an Australian Formula One driver, and the only Australian to have won a Formula One race since Alan Jones in 1981. After some racing success in Australia, Webber moved to the United Kingdom in 1995 to further his motorsport career. Webber began a partnership with fellow Australian Paul Stoddart, at that time owner of the European Racing Formula 3000 team, which eventually took them both into Formula One when Stoddart bought the Minardi team. Webber made his Formula One debut in 2002, scoring Minardi's first points in three years at his and Stoddart's home race. After his first season Jaguar Racing took him on as lead driver. During two years with the generally uncompetitive team Webber several times qualified on the front two rows of the grid and outperformed his team mates. His first F1 win was the 2009 German Grand Prix, which followed second places at the 2009 Chinese, Turkish, and British Grands Prix. By the end of 2009, Webber had scored eight podiums, including another victory in Brazil. His eight podiums in 2009 compares...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=564161 ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best JV book I've read.
I think I've read all of the Jacques books out there, and I easily enjoyed this one the most. The great thing about this one is that Jacques tells in his own words everything he experienced in his first year of F1.-Not just some boring author rehashing his past (again). If your like me and your curious what an open wheel racer thinks about, and experiences throughout a season, then you should definitely check this one out.

3-0 out of 5 stars Who'd have thought it!
Well, you would never have guessed it without reading this book, but the "wildchild" of Formula One, Jacques Villeneuve, is actually pretty tame.He fusses about his eyes being sprayed with champagne on thepodium, he is obsessive about changing his fireproofs up to three times aday while testing, small stones finding their way into his car bother him,he doesn't like loud noise and stuffs tissues in his ears to protect themat discos... Its all here!Worth a read if you're a dedicated JV fan!

5-0 out of 5 stars One to read!
This book was a hard book to leave down and I found myself reading at all hours of the morning - engrossed in the life story of Jacques. It gave me an insight into the pros and cons of being an F1 driver while alsoinforming me about the true character and personality behind him.I mustsay - you'd kick yourself for not buying this book.

P.S.Great picturesalso! ... Read more
