Excerpt: Douglas Anthony Mirabelli (born October 18, 1970 in Kingman, Arizona) is a former Major League Baseball catcher. He played for the San Francisco Giants (1996-2000), Texas Rangers (2001), Boston Red Sox (2001-2005), and San Diego Padres (2006) before returning to the Red Sox (2006-2007) to end his eleven year career. He batted and threw right-handed. Mirabelli was a career .231 hitter with 58 home runs and 206 RBI in 566 games. While with the Red Sox, he was well-known as the personal catcher for knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. He was part of the Red Sox' World Series championship teams in 2004 and 2007. After leading Valley High School in his hometown of Las Vegas to two state baseball titles, Mirabelli was originally selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 6th Round (159th overall) of the 1989 Major League Baseball amateur draft, but did not sign. Instead, Mirabelli chose to attend Wichita State University, and was part of the 1989 College World Series championship team which included future major leaguers Eric Wedge, Mike Lansing, and Pat Meares. In 1992, Mirabelli was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 5th round (131st overall) of the Major League Baseball amateur draft again. He signed a contract on June 24, 1992. Mirabelli began his minor league career in 1992 with the San Jose Giants in the California League. Over the next four seasons, he also spent time with the Giants' AA club; the Shreveport Captains and their AAA team; the Phoenix Firebirds. In 1996, Mi...http://booksllc.net/?id=900323 ... Excerpt:Senior club appearances and goalscounted for the domestic league only.* Appearances (Goals) Liam Watson (born 21 October 1970) is an English former professional footballer and currently manager of Conference National side Southport. Having plied his trade at Maghull and Burscough, Watson finally made his mark at Warrington Town where John Beck signed him for Preston North End for a fee of £60,000. This smashed Warrington Town's transfer fee received record which had only been set a few weeks earlier when Neil Whalley also moved to Deepdale for just £25,000. He scored in his debut after replacing the injured Micky Norbury in a 5-2 win over Rotherham United on the 27th March 1993 and then netted again in his next two appearances against Port Vale and Huddersfield Town. They would turn out to be the only three goals he would score for Preston but went on to make six more appearances before a serious injury cut short his professional footballing career. Due to his injury Watson retired from professional football and returned to non-league. The first side to sign him on his return was Marine before moving on to Witton Albion and then eventually Runcorn. Watson was soon signed from Runcorn by John Coleman for a short stint at ambitious Accrington Stanley before returning to the newly renamed Runcorn F.C. Halton in a managerial capacity replacing Mark Carter. In September 2000, Watson, at the relatively young age of 29, became Runcorn's new manger in the Northern Premier League. With little budget Watson was forced to scour the reserves of local non-league teams with a bulk of his signings coming from Southport, who he would later go on to manage, performing mi...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=22155136 ... Excerpt: Michael Barrett "Barry" Watson (born April 23, 1974) is an American actor, known for his roles of Matt Camden on 7th Heaven, Brian Davis in What About Brian and Todd Deepler in Samantha Who? Watson was born in Traverse City, Michigan. His father worked as an attorney and his mother as a paralegal. Watson was born the third of four children. At the age of eight, his family moved to Dallas, Texas where he began his modeling career. For a period of time he studied acting at the Dallas Young Actors Studio. Watson was fourteen when his parents divorced. When he was fifteen, he moved to Burbank, California, where he immediately landed a six month contract on the soap opera Days of our Lives. After his contract ended, Watson moved back to Texas, and graduated from Richardson High School in 1992. When he turned 19, Watson moved back to Los Angeles, where he worked parking cars at a House of Blues nightclub while auditioning for roles. He landed guest spots in several television series such as Baywatch and Sister, Sister. Eventually he was chosen for a minor role on the Aaron Spelling series Malibu Shores. Though his role was brief, it led him to Aaron Spelling's next project 7th Heaven. It was on the WB's 7th Heaven that Watson finally gained recognition as Matt Camden. In 1999 he starred in his first feature film with fellow WB star Katie Holmes in Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Watson guest starred in two episodes of 7th Heaven during its tenth season, but did not appear at all during the eleventh and final season. On April 16, 2006 Watson starred as the lead character Brian Davis, in the ABC series What About Brian. The...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=1041206 ... Read more

Product Description
The Evolution of International Society describes and compares the changing rules and practices of ancient systems, showing their development within a spectrum ranging from loose international societies of many independent states ordered by some degree of hegemony, to tighter imperial systems tempered by some measure of autonomy. The book demonstrates in convincing detail that political entities have usually co-existed, not in an anarchic state of nature, but organized by agreed rules and practices that derive substantially from past experience. ... Product Description

`This is a real feast of a book. ... a landmark book. It is clear enough to be used as a teaching text, and could make an excellent introduction to the discipline for those courageous enough to revise their courses.' International Affairs

`This is a bold, successful and valuable book... It is written with admirable clarity and merciful conciseness.' International Relations

`A stunning success. Watson's book is a masterful piece of theoretical and historical analysis.' John A. Vasquez, Rutgers University

Adam Watson, who died in 2007, was a former diplomat who in his later academic career became a pioneer of the discipline of international relations. Originally published in 1992, The Evolution of International Society made a major contribution to international theory and to our perception of how relations between states operate, and established Watson’s place within the canon.

This acclaimed and uniquely comprehensive work explains how international societies function across time, starting by examining the ancient state systems before turning to look in detail at the current worldwide international society. The book demonstrates that relations between states are not normally anarchic, but are in fact organized and regulated by elaborate rules and practices.

In this timely reissue, a new introduction by Barry Buzan and Richard Little assesses Adam Watson's career as a diplomat and examines how his work as a practitioner shaped his subsequent thinking about the nature of international society. It then contextualises Watson's original work, situates it alongside current work in the area and identifies the originality of Watson's key arguments, helping us to understand Watson’s place within the canon.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting Approach
Great history lesson of "empires" of the past and how they relate to hegemonic tendencies. Of course, 300+ years of rule couldn't be summed up in 300 pages, but the book has fairly poignant examples. It might be advised to read the Introduction and Conclusions first. It will allow the reader to understand the material better. ... Read more

"Ten Out of Ten" is a celebration of the best in British photography. It comprises ten photographs by each of ten leading photographers: Sir Cecil Beaton, Bill Brandt, Barry Lategan, Don McCullin, Roger Mayne, Norman Parkinson, Rankin, Lord Snowdon, John Swannell, and Albert Watson. The subject matter of the images cover a wide range: from fashion and beauty to portraiture and social documentary, from Beaton's portraits of British artists to Mayne's documents of 1950s street life, from the timeless elegance of a Parkinson fashion study to the searing war reportage of McCullin. The subjects of the portraits range from Sir John Gielgud and Princess Diana to Kate Moss and Gilbert & George, and the photographs date from 1936 to 2000. This is a wonderful selection of photographs edited by Martin Harrison, one of the most respected scholars of photographic history.
