Enjoyable reading
We saw the miniature White House exhibit while it was visiting Wisconsin and this book is a history of the replica as well as historical information on the actual White House.The exhibit is amazing and the book tells about the building of the replica and gives details on the various rooms and their furnishings.Overall, a great piece of Americana and a great book for anyone interested in the White House or in the building of miniatures.

An excellent book on the History of the White House and the people that have lived and worked there.Great pictures, past and present, and an easy to read narrative.The White House furnishings themselves could be a museum and they key ones are detailed.In addition it gives an overview of many of the well and lesser known events that have taken place.Also interesting to read about family life of the President's during the past 200+ years.

Please, Can We Keep the Donkey?
I picked this book up on a whim as the title intrigued me... I am so happy I bought it. It's a great read. Some of the stories make me chuckle while others brought a tear to my eye, but everyone of them made me think a little deeper about animals and their roles as our companions, helpers and housemates. I also thought the personal stories of those involved as interwoven with the rescue added real depth to each story. I just love this book. ... Read more

Since 1994, the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden at the White House has hosted eight exhibitions, featuring sculpture by Isamu Noguchi, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alexander Calder, Allan Houser, Martin Puryear, and many other outstanding artists. Each show was curated by a major American museum and photographed by David Finn to create a lasting record.
