College guides written by students for students.

New York University Students Tell It Like It Is
Any NYU student will tell you that if you want a traditional college campus, then NYU is not the school for you. The city atmosphere is fast-paced and hectic, and if you get too caught up in it, your grades could be affected. This is not to say that it is impossible to go to school here; you just need to find a balance between all the excitement of the city and your studies. Students love New York because it provides endless entertainment plays, concerts, bars, clubs, restaurants and there is never a reason to be bored.

Not sure if you're ready for life in the Big Apple? Buy the College Prowler guidebook and get a taste of what NYU is really like . . .

"Guys are generally gay or have a girlfriend. Girls are left being sexually frustrated, and I think that puts a crazed look in their eyes that makes them seem hotter."

"The parties on campus . . . well, they are either filled with a bunch of hippies laying on the floor smoking pot, basketball players hiding kegs in their closet, or chicks and gay guys dancing to Aaron Carter. For a good time, stay away from dorm parties! It's always okay to pre-game with your friends, but NYC has too many good places to go out at night."

"NYU is a safe haven for those who despise the 'follow the herd' mentality that some commonly associate with fraternities and sororities."

Want some advice for day-to-day life in the big city?

Always bring a walkman or portable CD player for tuning out annoying subway riders and people asking for money.
Always carry a small umbrella, because street vendors jack up the prices when it's raining.

Choosing a college is a big decision, but we can make it easier. Find out how the students really feel about the school.

"At first, going to NYU was a very difficult experience for me because it was such a big change. But I started increasingly to realize how good I had it compared to other kids who were stuck in the middle of nowhere for college. NYU is a great preparation for the real world because it is basically just that."

Find out if NYU truly has something for you, straight from the students' mouths.

Visiting campus isn't enough.

Read our NYU insider's guide and discover what it feels like to be on campus for 4 years.

Discover if NYU is Right For You.

4-0 out of 5 stars Deliverance Manual Spiritual Warfare Handbook
I found this book to be very informative,it made me take look at my life and realize that I need the Lord's help to combat the remaining evil or sins in my life. With God's help I have already eliminated smoking, drug abuse and alcohol abuse, but I still have a long road ahead of me. Lately I have been going astray, and this book gave me a push back in the right direction.

5-0 out of 5 stars Is Satan Real?
In our generation, every incident or event has to be explained with scientific instruments. Computers are being used to explain almost everything. Yet, there are certain issues in life that the so-called science cannot explain. Psychologists may give their views, physicists may calculate the probability, politicians may enact laws, yet the problem(s) persists even with hellish effects. Rev. Thomas D. Williams in his book 'Deliverance Manual: Spiritual Warfare Manual', exposes the deceit and tactics employed by the devil to kill, maim and destroy humans. The book is an eye opener. It has helped me to understand the world in which we live. It has also given me the assurance of God's promises to every person who obeys Him. Satan is real but how do we deal with him? Rev. Thomas D. Williams has the answer is his book.

From the author: During the past decade, dental hygiene has been challenged to develop conceptual models to define the discipline. Such models can provide a common language and infrastructure for the discipline to define the process of care. Health-Related Quality of Life conceptual models have been adopted by many health professions to assist in planning health-related interventions and assessing outcomes to care. Based on the Natural History of Disease Schema, the Wilson & Clearly model, and Neuman's System Model, a new conceptual model for dental hygiene is proposed. The Oral Health-Related Quality of Life Model, composed of six primary domains: Health/Preclinical Disease, Biological/Clinical Disease, Symptom Status, Functional Status, Health Perceptions, and General Quality of Life. This model proposes a dynamic relationship among these domains and characteristics unique to individual clients or populations, and may have utility for interdisciplinary communications. As an integrated model, it may serve as a foundation for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes to dental hygiene care. This paper reviews possible application of the model for clinical practice, research, and education. Keywords: Health-related quality of life, oral comfort, physical function, social function, role function, psychological function, health perceptions, paradigm.

From the supplier: The report of the National Commission on Philanthropy and Civic Renewal recommends that private social service charities seek to fulfill their own unique mission by better managing their resources and demanding more accountability from those who allocate and use them. US private philanthropy should not try to fill the gap left by the reform of the welfare system. It should, however, attempt to fill a moral role by helping its clientele live more virtuous lives. The commission opposes government sponsorship of volunteer programs and believes that volunteering should be a free choice, not a mandate.

4-0 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE!
Is an excellent book and great especially in combination with the big book Blue Prints in Family Medicine also by the same author. Packed with practical and well intentioned information in a compact sized book. Suggestions for improvement include altering the paper quality, highlighting key words, and also differentiating features between similar cases, to facilitate even easier recall. Easy and comfortable reading. Overall a great addition to my library. Would buy it all over again. Intend purchasing more books in the Blue Print series.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful reference for NBME FM shelf exam

Most of the clinical problems presented in this text were covered on the shelf exam, some more than once. It was a great last minute prep tool. ... Read more
