5-0 out of 5 stars Very comprehensive

For those who have closely followed the story of the Shroud, this book was written some time ago but it reveals everything that started the whole process. Very detailed and insightful--step by step beginnings. You will read about many things that aren't covered in the newer material. If you want to really understand how we got to where we are now with the knowledge that The Shroud is certainly the cloth that covered the body of the ressurection of the crucified Christ, then this is the only way to begin. Good read.

4-0 out of 5 stars The possible Shroud story
This book gives a really intriguing hypothesis about the Shroud missing centuries.
The author is a believer, but the arguments are all very solid.

5-0 out of 5 stars Christ was Here and Christ will come back to Reign.
The shroud of turin (no caps for shroud of turin)is proof that Jesus Christ was here back then. But as of right now, He is in the Heavens.
The important message of the book, on this topic (on the shroud)is that the He (Jesus Christ)came to save us in order for us to have Eternal salvation. People like to exaggerate or even show off by saying, "the shroud of turin" but what is more important for one is the Person who was wrapped in it (Jesus Christ)and not the cloth itself. The cloth will not take you to heaven but the God Christ will. Christ is Alive and He is in Heaven....we will have new bodies in this new world that Jesus Christ will establish Himself, but for that to happen we must be good and we must be in the book of Life in order to see this new world He will create. i also recommend you get a Bible ESV and read the word of GOD Christ. the shroud can be compared to this example: a person you meet who is very nice but who wore a polo shirt, but when he is gone, the shirt stays behind, but seeing that shirt will remind you of that loving person you always dealt with. You want him back(that person in your life) because he was so loving, caring, unique, and he was the only one who understood you-always and forever.

5-0 out of 5 stars Evidence that Christ Lived, and Lives till this day-But in the Heavens.
I bought this book, and the information True.
People should not look at this information from the Scientific point of view
because whole point to this is something even more important-and that is that Jesus Christ did Exist back then. The Shroud of Turin is the Evidence. It is no hoax at all. It is all Real. The point is that Jesus Christ, the True Creator God of this World roamed this Planet in the Flesh back in the day before He Left to Heaven in order to be With His Father (God). When He died, He was wrapped with this Shroud-this blaket sheet when placed in some Cave. Why do the Italians hold this Shroud with such caution/care?
Because it is real! It is like the only piece evidence that says to one that Christ was Alive. This book is recommended to Atheists who don't believe that Christ existed at all. This is proof that He did Live. Everyone will be shocked once He comes back to this Earth.....One has to believe in Him, as well as follow His ways because many will be damned to Hell.
This is a great book by Ian Wilson. 5 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most scientific evidence that I have ever seen
This book is absolutely outstanding.Any atheist, agnostic, skeptic, or uncertain person will have their eyes opened concerning Jesus of Nazareth when they read this book from cover to cover. There is no preaching at all in this book. There are no prayers in it to try to get the reader to accept Christ. It is 100% based on science and history and is loaded with pictures.Whenever I am tempted to doubt my Christianity, all I need to do is begin re-reading this detail-oriented presentation of facts and my doubts or unbelief goes away. The evidence is overwhelmingly conclusive that the Shroud of Turin is genuine. One can deduce (this is my inference, not necessarily the author's viewpoint) that the Shroud image has appeared on the cloth by a supernatural process, such as the literal Resurrection of Jesus from the dead.I have used this book to share the truth of Jesus with my associates and family. For the scientist it is especially appealing. ... Product Description
For 1500 years the hieroglphs of Ancient Egypt defied interpretation but were thought to conceal ancient wisdom and religious secrets. When at last they were deciphered, the hieroglyphs provided something quite different; a picture of ordinary life. The hieroglyphs were concerned not with esoteric rituals but with facts: dates, names, places, and details of people's rank and position in society. Hilary Wilson provides translations of hundreds of the most commonly used hieroglyphs by means of easy-to-use tables, and includes examples from monuments, documents and museum exhibits. She also explains the significance of the terms used, so as to offer a fuller understanding of what the original scribe was trying to convey. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Just enough to whet the appetite.
I suppose there are those authors who research every single nut and bolt of information before submitting anything for publication and those who prefer to giver an overview of the subject in general.

Speaking personally, when it comes to lost shipwrecks and missing treasures (and there seems to be plenty which are yet to be found) I would much prefer to recommend one of Nigel Pickford's books on the subject. Nevertheless, I was looking for something on a subject not covered by Pickford and found the most useful small, but very significant nugget of information in this book by Ian Wilson. So, having proved it's worth, I thought I might add it to my ever growing list of book reviews.

As already suggested, this is an overview of those "places, graves, shipwrecks and treasures" which still remain undiscovered - well mostly undiscovered. The book begins with an insight into the really ancient treasures of biblical times; Atlantis, Helike, Alesia, and Mount Badon. Part II covers the lost graves of ancient Egypt, China, Antiochus, Herod, Attila, King Arthur and so forth. Part III is that area where my own knowledge comes to the fore - shipwrecks, and is where I learned some very valuable lessons. Finally, the book treats the reader to those long-lost treasures of myth, legend and reality. Some of are already well known - such as the Dead Sea scrolls, King John's jewels (which, apparently are not very far from my house!!!), and others which are less aired.

Altogether a fascinating insight into a few of the valuable artefacts that are out there - somewhere!, just waiting to be found and well worth a read.
