Letters from Lost Thyme
A fascinating glimpse into the brilliant mind and vast range of knowledge possessed by a man who seemingly lived a simple life as a prep school teacher, but whose understanding of the world and literature and whose philosophy of living is almost beyond comprehension or explanation.An enlightening experience unlike anything I have ever read before.

John Joseph was my uncle.
I read this book because John Joseph was my uncle. His duties at Choate didn't allow him many visits with his 9 other siblings, one being my mother who was a few years older. This allowed me to see a glimpse ofhis life as teacher and mentor to many.
The letters written to Ms. Larsen over those years have became a journal of his life during those important years and a journal of the Larsen's lives.
I appreciated knowing him through her eyes.
