An unusual score in which the Antonia act comes before the Giulietta act, but overall very clear print.Note that the text is only in French, and I noted a few text errors here and there.I'd recommend it over the Schirmer score, which is harder to read as the fonts are smaller. ... Read more

Jacques Offenbach naît en Allemagne en 1819. Son père, Isaac Judas Eberst, est cantor de la synagogue de Cologne. Originaire d'Offenbach am Main près de Francfort, celui-ci adopte le patronyme d'Offenbach vers 1810, en vertu du décret napoléonien du 28 juillet 1808. Le jeune Jacob révèle très jeune ses dons pour le violoncelle, ce qui conduit son père à lui faire poursuivre ses études musicales à Paris.
