skills. acting techniques are taught across a range of dramatic stylesand are adaptable to all performance situations. Preparation
http://www.bssd.ac.uk/courses/course.htm
Training at BSSD
BSSD's courses are aimed at developing professional actors who can assess their strengths and weaknesses realistically. Training at any drama school cannot guarantee fame or success but good training should provide the individual with the ability to release their potential and maximise their employability. We are aware that the career options for actors are increasingly complex and the nature of an actor's work is changing rapidly. Working as an actor can be enormously rewarding creatively and personally but it is not always the most financially rewarding profession, and many actors, even well-known 'household names', undertake work which utilises their skills in a range of areas such as advertising, voice-over, business and corporate training We seek to ensure that our training produces informed graduates with the skills they need to develop their own career path. There is a variety of areas open to an actor such as television, radio, film, musicals, classical, repertory or experimental theatre, TIE (Theatre in Education) etc., and some graduates go on to form their own acting or media companies. For some this has included moving into other related areas such as directing, musical directing, writing or teaching. The BSSD offers three major training paths
Performance is the core of the training at BSSD and both courses are progressive, with students moving from 'black box' live performance through to workshops and on to final productions - live and recorded. Visiting professionals direct theatre, radio and TV productions in the final year of the BA (Hons) course and in the final term of the Diploma course - helping to bring to the course and students a real professional experience.

87. The History And Science Of Acting - Styles, Techinques And Personalities
A guide to the science, history, techniques, traditions and styles of acting.
http://www.linksnorth.com/acting
THE HISTORY and SCIENCE OF A CTING ACTING.... . Imagine a person with all the desires and fears, thoughts and actions that make a man or a woman. Acting is becoming that imaginary person. Whether the character, or role, that the actor creates is based on someone who really lived, a playwright's concept, or a legendary being, that creation comes to life through the art of acting. Acting is an ability to react, to respond to imaginary situations and feelings. The purpose of this ancient profession is, as Shakespeare has Hamlet say, "to hold, as 'twere, the mirror up to Nature, to show . . . the very age and body of the Time, his form and pressure." It is the audience that sees itself in the mirror of acting. Acting is a process of two-way communication between actor and audience. The reflection may be realistic, as the audience sees its own social behavior; the reflection may be a funny or critical exaggeration; or the audience may see a picture of its mindof the way it thinksor a fantastic projection of its fears and desiresof the way it feels. Acting makes use of two kinds of physical skills: movement and voice. Either may dominate. Body movement is highly developed in Far Eastern acting traditions, while the voice has ruled in Western cultures. If either voice or movement takes over completely, the activity is usually not called acting but dance, perhaps, or singing. But neither ballerinas nor operatic singers can reach the top of their professions without being able to act.

Welcome to A merican R ussian T heatrical A lliance
a bilingual (English - Russian) theatrical company in California. The idea of creating an American Russian theater in Los Angeles has been under consideration for many years. Los Angeles, especially the city of West Hollywood, has a large Russian-speaking community that loves and cares for its native culture, yet always actively participates in different American cultural events. ARTA was born with the idea of uniting these two great cultures.
Through our love of art and theatre, we hope to make our sometimes-hectic world a better place. We strive to create productions that delight audiences and inspire them to return for more. ARTA's News Upcoming Event N ew

ABOUT WILD HEART STUDIOS
Wild Heart Studios is an acting and film school headquartered in Clearwater, Florida. It was founded in 1998 by actress, writer and director Mandy Wildman. We teach actors how to act, and film makers how to make films with style, enthusiasm, and confidence. We teach the new Attitude Acting technique, which is easier to learn and more effective than some other methods. Our film making course shows aspiring film makers that making your first film does not have to be complicated or costly to be effective - what is important is getting your message. Even our film makers make films with attitude!
Book - 'Shooting on a Shoestring'.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe space where performing artists and film makers can learn their craft then go out into the world and unleash their beauty on society.
The Attitude Acting Technique
After studying various acting techniques, Mandy realized that the actual craft of acting had been made complex, esoteric and in some cases disturbing to the aspiring actor. Students asked her questions such as "How do I know if I'm good?" and "How do I express emotions I have never felt." Attitude Acting was designed to give the aspiring or experienced actor new information about how to perform with confidence and portray emotions accurately. Developed from over twenty years of experience as a professional performer and director, the Attitude Acting technique demystifies the craft of acting and puts it in the realm of a profession that can be learned by anyone with the passion and drive to succeed. Only certified instructors may teach Attitude Acting.
