Crossdressing Support
Psychology of Crossdressing and Transvestism
"Moderation in all things." This site looks best with MS Internet Explorer
There are lots of fun websites for crossdressers. But from time to time, every crossdresser asks serious questions, too. Questions like:
  • Should I crossdress?
  • How far should I go?
  • I'd love to take female hormonesbut should I?
  • In the long run, is this helping or hurting me?
This site is to help crossdressers with those questions. Many sites take the attitude that there is no "cure" for crossdressing. That is a needlessly helpless and resigned view. It doesn't recognize the immense potential of each person to shape their own destiny. A "cure" does not necessarily mean to stop crossdressing. It means changing the nature of crossdressing from something that controls us to something we controland to crossdress as much, or as little, as supports our overall development as a human being. Prefacing remarks:
  • A guiding philosophy here is that insight and self-understanding are the keys. The more we understand *why* we crossdress, the better we can evaluate crossdressing in our own lives.
  • No single theory explains all of crossdressing; at best, a theory is a way to highlight a single concept. To understand crossdressing in a given person, many concepts must be considered.

http://www.romanceweb.com/r2r/asreview.html
ANNIE'S SONG by Catherine Anderson Annie Trimble is considered by the citizens of 1890 Hooperville, Oregon to be a "moron". Kept out of an institution by her misguided, sometimes unintentionally cruel parents, she is kept away from polite society. She's an innocent, and fair game for a drunken Douglas Montgomery, who finds her alone in the woods and rapes her. Alex Montgomery, Douglas's older brother, has tried for years to redirect his derelict brother to exercise better judgment and behave in a responsible and morally upright manner. When he finds out what Douglas has done, however, it is the final straw. Casting Douglas out on his own, but still taking full responsibility for his brother's mistakes as he had done from a tender age, he tells Annie's parents that, should she become pregnant, he will marry her and raise the child as his own. Annie has many fears to overcome, but Alex is persistent and always patient, and his generosity with Annie is unending. Gradually, lulled to trust him by his consistent gentleness, Annie begins to open her heart to him, wanting to give back in some small measure all of the joy that he has given to her while asking for nothing in return. And it is through her selfless consideration for Alex that Annie truly begins to heal. A five-star, must-read book, and a keeper. This is an author who has a magic touch with characters and with story-telling, and I know for certain that I will be seeking out everything she has written.

http://www.thrillingdetective.com/anderson_v.html
Vicki Anderson/Catherine Banning
Created by Alan Trustman VICKI ANDERSON
is the hotshot insurance dick called in to investigate a high-stakes Boston bank heist in Norman Jewison's stylish romantic suspense thriller The Thomas Crown Affair (1968 ). She soon finds herself pitted, both romantically and professionally, against the caper's mastermind, successful, but bored, multi-millionaire Thomas Crown, played by Steve McQueen with, as always, stone-cold precision. Vicki is a strange combination of ditzy charmy and cold ruthlessness, willing to break the law in jaw-dropping fashion one moment, just to crack the case, and then seemingly willing to risk it all the next in a round of pillow talk with Crown. The film is not so much a traditional private eye story, but a battle of wills, between two main characters bent on domination; an edgy game of cat and mouse. The burning question becomes "How do you get the man who has everything?" The frank sexual politics, the tease and release played out between Dunaway and McQueen garnered the film an "R" back in 1968, and the colliding viewpoints exemplified by the splitscreen techniques must have all seemed quite cutting edge and shocking back then. In fact, they still pack quite a wallop now, although they do sometimes seem dated. And those hats of Dunaway's are laughable. And it's marred by one of the most cloying, annoying songs of the sixties, Michel Legrand's look-at-me-I'm-sensitve "Windmills of Your Mind. Still, it's a true original, this film, and well worth seeing. Recommended.

Footloose (Finale) Reviews Footloose is only one of a batch of dance-movies-turned-musicals from the late-'90s, but it's probably the best. Unlike Fame , it gives an audience the movie songs it expects to hear, and unlike Saturday Night Fever , it complements those songs with newly written, honest-to-goodness book songs that support the plot (written by Dean Pitchford and Tom Snow, who wrote songs for the original film). Like the 1984 Kevin Bacon film that inspired it, Footloose follows the story of Ren (Jeremy Kushnier), who moves with his mother ( Catherine Cox ) to a small town where dancing is prohibited by law. Teens will be teens, of course, so Ren ends up at odds with the town and especially the local minister, Reverend Moore ( Stephen Lee Anderson ). Along the way, the characters sing familiar songs from the movie (The Girl Gets Around, Holding Out for a Hero, Let's Hear It for the Boy, Almost Paradise, and of course the title tune), but the new songs are enjoyable as well.
