John Bowles and Mary - of Middlesex Co, VA
Commentary Children Researcher List Register Report ... Home I (Marty Grant) am a 7th Great Grandson of John and Mary Bowles. John Bowles was probably born in VA, possibly Middlesex County, prior to ca 1723. He may be much older than that, but probably not younger. I have not done very much Bowles research in Virginia as of yet, so my info on this family is scant at present. I'll change that whenever I'm able to. John Bowles was in Middlesex Co, VA prior to 7 Dec 1744 when the birth of a child was recorded in the Christ Church Parish Register. He and his wife Mary - had six children recorded in the Parish records, though for some reason, their marriage was not recorded there. Perhaps they moved to Middlesex County from another county, already married. So far, I have no clue as to Mary's maiden name. As mentioned before, they had the births of six children recorded in the Parish records, but other records show a seventh child. None of the children's marriages (or deaths) were recorded, so it would seem the family left Middlesex Co, VA after the 1750's. Unfortunately, the year of birth for many of the children were not recorded (or was obscured for some reason). Here are the records, in page order (not necessarily in birth order) from the Parish records. The Parish Register of Christ Church, Middlesex County, VA from 1653 to 1812

product so that it will work, not just occasionally but every
time it is needed. Many of the techniques used to produce a reliable
design are the result of lessons learned over a long history of
experience with earlier products. They include:
Predicting when components will fail, determining the effects of the
failure on the system's operation, and designing the system to mitigate
these effects rather than letting them escalate. Controlling the amount of variation in manufacturing processes and making the system design robust enough to tolerate the variances and still work properly. Applying human factors to ensure that maintenance operations are easy to perform. Using life-cycle cost analysis to evaluate design tradeoffs.

Poll: Dole Retains Lead over Bowles
No Clear Advantage Seen in State Legislative Contests

October 18, 2002 RALEIGH — Republican nominee Elizabeth Dole maintains a clear lead in her U.S. Senate race against Democrat Erskine Bowles, according to a public opinion poll released today by the John Locke Foundation.
The survey found that 45 percent of likely North Carolina voters said they would vote for Dole, compared with 37 percent who favored Bowles and 19 percent who favored other candidates or were undecided (the total exceeds 100 percent due to rounding).
“While Dole seems to have good reason to be pleased with her continued lead, our poll demonstrates that there is still a sizable group of undecided voters,” said John Hood, president of the John Locke Foundation.
The bad news for Bowles, Hood said, is that key subgroups of voters seem to be breaking Dole’s way, such as independents (48 percent to 26 percent) and moderates (41 percent to 36 percent), while the two candidates were statistically tied among women (43 percent for Dole to 39 percent for Bowles). Dole had a commanding 48 percent to 34 percent lead among men in the poll.
The Raleigh-based think tank conducts statewide polls every two years as part of its “Agenda” project, which provides policy recommendations and political analysis in state and local elections. The latest “Agenda 2002” poll of 500 likely voters was conducted Oct. 14-16 by Virginia-based Tel Opinion Research. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
