After being exhausted by the "place cleaner than Switzerland"it's not anymoreand by four hours of sleep the previous night, I had left Orlando early to catch Kiel's speech at 6pm Sunday night. It was at a Baptist church in a town the size of my microwave, so we found it easily, blissfully ignorant of what was ahead. There's too much going on in Richard Kiel's life now to bother with yet another James Bond flick. The 19th and latest, Tomorrow Never Dies, will just have to wait until...tomorrow. Fact is, Kiel, the 7-foot-2 actor who played Bond's metal-mouthed nemesis, "Jaws," in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Moonraker (1979) has been out of the movie spy business for almost two decades. These days, he gets more pleasure in winning souls for Christ than cracking heads. "I offer my testimony all the time. I have probably shared my testimony 300 times around the country," said Kiel a self-described "Bapticostal" who speaks at churches and similar events 20 times a year, mostly in California. "I became a Christian when I was 9 years old, but a lot of growth had to occur in my Christian experience. I sort of renewed that when I was a teen-ager. I got baptized when I was 27, but I was really in my 30s before I got to know my full potential in my relationship with God." Today he lives out that relationship near Yosemite National Park in Coarsegold, Calif., where he resides with his wife of 24 years. Three of their four children, ranging in age from 17 to 23, still live at home.

Richard Kiel Richard Kiel, who is best known for his roles as "Jaws" in the James Bond films, has been an actor for nearly thirty-eight years. Like Michael Douglas, Ron Howard, Rob Reiner and Penny Marshall, he has picked up a lot of experience by osmosis. Kiel wrote, produced and starred in his own television show, The Paul Bunyan Show in 1963. He wrote his first screenplay The Dance of Death in 1965. In the 1970s he co-wrote The South Shall Rise Again , and began co-writing several family films including Consider the Ravens, With Wings As Eagles and Escape From Paradise In the early 1990s he co-wrote The Giant of Thunder Mountain . He then raised the funds to make his first movie. Acting as Co-Executive Producer, and implementing a innovative incentive system, Kiel brought the film in under budget and ahead of schedule. The film received two "Four Star" reviews during its test marketing and the "Film Advisory Board's - Family Film Award of Excellence." Kiel's current project is about "Cassius Clay," and one that he has researched for over 23 years. He wrote the original screenplays over a two and one-half year period of time, and says "This is not a story about Muhammad Ali but rather one about the white man who ran for president at the same time as Abraham Lincoln. It's a story about a man who put his life on the line, who suffered assassination attempts on his own life and the poisoning of his children, all caused by his quest to put an end to slavery. Cassius Clay did so much to cause the freedom of the slaves, including Muhammad Ali's great-great-grandfather, that Ali's father and the boxing champion himself were both named after him.
