" I am hated for Loving " - Morrissey Morrissey
Musicfolio
Gothic/Ethereal Synthpop/Newwave Industrial/EBM ... Song-of-the-week "Morrissey embarked on his solo career with the Suedehead single and the 'Viva Hate' LP, instant critical favorites on both sides of the Atlantic despite his oft-times contentious relationship with the British press. Once alone in the spotlight, Morrissey actively cultivated his self-made, anti-hero persona - the consummate Englishness, studied vulnerability, the awkward balance between exhibitionist and introvert, the self-proclaimed celibacy, and the quick and charming wit all combined to increase his notoriety and secure a more rabid fan base than ever before. The results of his labor scored on the charts as well, where 'Viva Hate' reached #48 on Billboard's Album Chart, besting The Smiths ' highest chart position from the outset.
(...) With the release of the breakthrough 'Your Arsenal' LP in 1992, produced by glam legend Mick Ronson, Morrissey began to receive the popular acceptance and critical acclaim that had previously eluded him and more of the controversy that has continually dogged him. The disc bowed at #21 on the Billboard Album Chart and was followed by his most successful international concert tour ever. Selling-out American arenas and setting venue box-office records became the norm, though his 22-minute sell-out of the Hollywood Bowl - eclipsing the Beatles' record - was nothing short of spectacular. What They Said

Back to
Almost Fabulous
July 23, 1998 Celtic Legacy were formed in January of this year by Dave Morrissey and Dave Boylan which evolved from a band called Mischief. Other members of the band include Phil McEvoy, Tom Branagan and Ciara Roe. They decided to give this business called music a serious attempt and so they took a great risk and bypassed the traditional demo stage and went straight for the full CD release complete with artwork. The band are highly influenced by Thin Lizzy and the twin guitar rock sound of the seventies. As such Celtic Legacy run the risk of being labeled as old time rock and roll. The interest from the media in general in Ireland has been very disappointing. Is this because the band is not playing trendy music or it is just total apathy? I first became aware of this CD via the Internet and the Network Of Wild Ones which is a newsgroup of Thin Lizzy supporters from all over the globe. Celtic Legacy have done reasonably ok as a result of their involvement in this newsgroup, selling a number of copies of the CD. The CD is now on release and has been since May of this year. Both Dave Morrissey and Dave Boylan spoke to me on the radio show. Dave Morrissey: "It took four months from start to finish. We had a few delays with the artwork mainly due to the fact that we could not think of a name for the band."

90. JOHNNY DIAZ REYES - Actor Biography
Exclusive biography and photo site for hot latin actor Johnny Diaz Reyes. Star of Chris morrissey's Lipgloss Explosion.
http://www.chrismorrissey.com/johnnybio.htm
28 year old Johnny Diaz Reyes grew up in the small desert town of Blythe, California. Leaving for Los Angeles at age 19, Johnny enrolled in Santa Monica College to pursue a degree in Sociology to help children of broken homes. The crazy party lifestyle of the big city began to affect Johnny's schoolwork and eventually led him to refocus his long-term goals. Realizing the high demands and heavy emotional involvement in social work, Johnny decided to try something less demanding. He enrolled in beauty college to begin a new start as a hair and make-up artist. After graduating and working in various upscale Los Angeles salons, Johnny got his first experience working on a Hollywood film project doing hair and make-up for indie film director Stephanie Weier's short film FLATTERED. Enjoying the whole filmmaking process, Johnny decided to leave the salon jobs behind to solely work on movie sets. Meeting film director Chris Morrissey at a film industry party, Chris took notice of Johnny's kooky personality and offered him the male leading role in his second feature film "LIPGLOSS EXPLOSION." Never acted before in his life, Johnny trusted Chris Morrissey's instincts and accepted the challenge. Loving the adrenaline rush of performing and being in front of the cameras, Johnny has since focused 100% on acting and modeling, and has been studying for the last 2 years at Playhouse West, one of L.A.'s most notable acting schools, which includes such students as James Franco, Ashely Judd, and Scott Caan.

Steven Patrick Morrissey
Morrissey: what words can describe him? Who knows, I certianly do not. Jo Slee has some in her (excellent) book, INTO THE ART OF MORRISSEY: PEEPHOLISM. "Rumor has it that everything you could possibly want to know about Morrissey is to be found in his lyrics. Apparently frank, disarming and explicit, in fact give nothing away." I have listened to most of his songs, read a great deal and still he is an enigma to me. Here are the things I am certian of: Morrissey's childhood was in a way very traumatic to him; he became known for writing letters to various magizines and people in the spotlight; he is very sensitive, he is a vegetarian and loves animals; he was the singer for the 80's pop band The Smiths (they broke up in 1987); He went right on with a solo career; his fans are absolutely fanaticaly devoted to him ( many climb up on stage to hug him); and of course THE MOST MUSICALLY TALENTED PERSON OF OUR TIME NEWS For the most up to date news I always go HERE

BY GARY MORRIS Much of the myth, if we can call it that, surrounding Paul Morrissey comes out of his early relationship with Andy Warhol' s Factory and its glittering, damaged denizens. In a world of stylized weirdos, Morrissey was the straight businessman, always looking for the commercial possibilities inherent in a scene where few believed any existed. Viva called him "a real nine-to-fiver" and Warhol biographer Stephen Koch said he was "an anomaly at the Factory." Morrissey's drive and ambition made it possible for him to rework the Warhol aesthetic evident in conceptually rich but unbearably dull experiments like Sleep and Empire into more accessible, coherent, and committed works like Trash, Heat, Mixed Blood, Blood for Dracula

My Memories of Marine SergeantGeorge C. Scott By Major Bob Morrissey USMC (Ret) September 24, 1999 The author of this memoir is Maj Bob Morrissey, USMC (Ret), who was aMarine Corps combat correspondent and Public Affairs Officer, who was Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen Wallace M. Greene, Jr.'s personal public affairs officer. I asked Mo if it would be OK to forward this to the WWII list because there have been a number of posts re/Scott in recent days. I hope you all approve. BMF George C. "Patton" Scott, who died Wednesday of an aneurysm at age 71, and I were good friends and frequent liberty buddies while serving together as three-stripers at the Washington Marine Barracks from 19461948. George and I were both instructors at the Marine Corps Institute, then an accredited academic correspondence school for Marines. I instructed first-year college journalism, English grammar, and authored a new MCI course in photo journalism. George instructed English literature and Radio Speaking and Writing. Because he marched with the grace of a gazelle, he was designated guidon bearer for the elite Barracks ceremonial company. I marched immediately behind him as company right guide , ever-failing to emulate his awesome ballbearing strides. We marched in rain, snow, and Washington heat in many military funerals at Arlington cemeterysometimes two or three a dayas well as in presidential inaugural parades and other special ceremonial occasions in DC. This was in addition to our regular MCI duties. George found funeral details distasteful to him. He became very depressed when witnessing families and relatives mourning the deaths of their Marines.

In 1991, Morrissey told us that there was a place in Hell for him and his friends. I guess that's no longer the case, because he reports in 1997 that Satan has rejected his soul. Poor guy - doesn't anybody want him? I first heard of Morrissey in 1989, when I bought my first Smiths album. This was, of course, a few years after the Smiths broke up, and Morrissey had released his first solo album, Viva Hate . Since then I have been a faithful Morrissey follower. I've caught two of his (short) concerts in Phoenix. They were good, but... y'know... short. (Nearly) all of the Smiths' songs were written by Johnny Marr and Morrissey. After the Smiths broke up, Morrissey teamed up with Smiths engineer Stephen Street (with Durutti Column guitarist Vince Reilly) to produce Viva Hate . Morrissey then put two singles together: "Interesting Drug" and "The Last of the Famous International Playboys". A subsequent recording session broke down, and Morrissey opted to release the completed tracks as singles instead of an album, releasing "Ouija Board, Ouija Board", "November Spawned a Monster", and "Picadilly Palare". (These songs and others, which were written by a host of different people, were later released on the
