Welcome to Tricia Richter (a.k.a. TriBaby) 's home page, where you'll find some nifty stuff about triathlons and old movies (a logical combination, eh?). I originally put this web site together in 1995. I updated it regularly through 1998, and have really done nothing with it since then, so bear that in mind as you peruse these truly primitive pages! WOOHOOO!
One of the highlights of my triathlon career came on October 3rd, 1998 , when I crossed the line at Ironman Hawaii Five weeks prior to Ironman Hawaii '98 I participated for the second time at a truly magnificent event in the little town of Penticton, British Columbia- Ironman Canada . It ended up being rather a different Ironman for me, but an extraordinarily fulfilling one. I completed my race report nearly four months after the race, and offer it here for your reading pleasure. It's now 2002 and a lot has happened since those big races in '98. I returned to Ironman Canada in 1999 to post a personal best time of 12:10:38 and win the Women's Clydesdale division. Although my overall time was slower at IMC 2000, I posted my best run split there with a 4:32:something. After taking a year off of the long stuff in '01, I'm back training for Ironman Canada '02. I'll also be heading back to Ironman Hawaii once again in October! Only one problem: It's currently mid-June, and Achilles tendinitis has gotten me down. I'm aggressively pursuing treatment, including Deep Tissue Manipulation at the

68. Dukenvironment -- Spring 2001
Using observations and models, richter and dan Markewitz, a 1996 Nicholas SchoolPh.D. graduate and now assistant professor of forest soils at the University
http://www.env.duke.edu/dukenvironment/spring2001/forest.html
In a South Carolina forest, where deer wander through stands of loblolly pines grown tall in old cotton fields, the land is eroded and gullies sometimes run deep. Cotton farming depleted and degraded the soil by the 1920s, so that when you step in some forest areas today, it is the subsoil that your foot touches. The topsoil - some experts say as much as six inches from Virginia to Georgia - was carried off downstream leaving behind fields too eroded to farm and rivers filled with sediment. Calhoun Soil Profile The soil that remains underneath the South’s pines and hardwoods has an important story to tell about the history of old Southern agriculture and about modern rapidly growing forests and their sustainability, says the Nicholas School’s Daniel D. "Dan" Richter. But to fully understand this story, there have to be permanent soil plots like those at the Calhoun Experimental Forest in South Carolina, where repeated sampling has been conducted for four decades, and for which a soil archive contains nearly all samples collected and carefully stored for periodic analysis. Richter credits Dr. Carol G. Wells of the U.S. Forest Service for originating the Calhoun study in 1957 and for continuing it through 1982. The site, located in a remote area of upstate South Carolina near Spartanburg, was originally an old cotton field that Wells’ colleagues planted in pine, a very common practice in the mid-20th century.

Dia's exhibition program, presented in its four-story renovated warehouse building at 548 West 22nd Street, New York City, and in a recently renovated space at 545 West 22nd Street, is principally dedicated to large-scale, single-artist projects, produced on a substantial scale and with a commitment to site specificity. Exhibitions are long-term, usually with a duration of one year to allow for repeated visits and the opportunity to view the work over an extended period of time. Following please find information on current and upcoming exhibitions, as well as an archive of previous exhibitions. The 2002-2003 season runs through June 15, 2003. Admission fee for the exhibitions is $6, $3 for students and seniors, and free for members and children under 10 years. Dia's hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 noon to 6 pm. Dia is closed Christmas day and New Year's day.

September 5, 2002-June 15, 2003
Interweaving several of Richter’s works into Pardo’s redesign of Dia’s ground floor, this installation draws on the artists’ shared interest in interplay of the work of art and its context. The combination of Richter’s new glass sculpture and older works in diverse media with Pardo’s glass and tiled environment imbricate reality and illusion many times over.
This exhibition is sponsored by Bloomberg.

My instruments are hand made from a wide variety of beautiful exotic and domestic woods which enhance their unique appearance.
I also enjoy adorning my instruments with hand-cut inlays, often designing them with the client to create a truly custom and personalized instrument.
The sound and playability are superb with a rich, full tone and "finger friendly" action. For pricing or to see further examples of my work please contact me and I will send you a free brochure. To contact Dan Richter phone email dragonflyguy@hotmail.com

ABOUT THE BOOK
The epitome of the 60s hippie ideal, young mime Dan Richter developed a heroin addiction while hanging out with beat legends such as William Burroughs in New York City, and traveled to exotic locations all around the world in search of new miming techniques. Dan ends up in London, where in 1966 he is invited by Kubrick to audition for the part of Moonwatcher and is hired to choreograph the scene in addition to playing the main character. The book proceeds chronologically, from Dan’s first ride to MGM studios for his audition to his famous bone throw in what is still the longest flash-forward in cinema history (3 million years in 1/24 of a second). The journey is a fascinating one because of all the different roads it takes. Dan tells not only of his enormous contribution, but also of the creation of the Australopithecene species by make-up and costume people, scouting for the perfect location, aspects of cinematography and set-design that give the scene its unique look, and the hardships endured by his fellow man-apes in masks they could hardly breath through and heavy glass contact lenses that had to be removed with suction devices and nearly blinded Moonwatcher’s nemesis, One Ear. Anchoring the creation of the “Dawn of Man” is the collaboration between Stanley Kubrick and Dan Richter. Guided by Kubrick’s demanding yet masterful directing style, Dan meticulously studies the movements of apes and monkeys in zoos as well as the work of premier gorilla, ape, and primate researchers and combines it with his thorough knowledge of miming technique to make a prehistoric man-ape into a character that can communicate its intentions and motivations for 18 minutes of film-time without using any dialogue. Underscoring the work is Dan’s constant fear of having his heroin addiction uncovered and struggling to work under enormous pressure while being an addict. Moonwatcher’s Memoir is an opportunity to plumb the deeper meanings behind the “Dawn of Man” from the ground up, to understand how the unique dynamic between Kubrick and Richter yielded the scene in all of its complexities, and to enjoy Dan Richter’s highly entertaining storytelling.

Mike Richter (right) makes 35 saves in relief of Dan Blackburn, who has his worst game as a pro. (AP) Richter picked up his rookie backup with 35 saves in relief Tuesday night as the Rangers stormed back from a three-goal deficit to beat the New York Islanders Theo Fleury scored the game-winner at 8:02 of the third period when he snared the puck from defenseman Marko Kiprusoff and raced three-quarters the length of the ice to score his second goal of the game. "I was pretty confident on that breakaway," said Fleury, who had one goal in his previous 11 games. "I didn't hesitate. I just went in and picked my spot." Dan Blackburn has played well in Richter's stead, but had the worst night of his young NHL career, allowing four goals in just over five minutes as the Islanders built a 4-1 lead midway through the first. "It's disappointing anytime you get pulled," the 18-year-old Blackburn said. "But I'm glad the guys responded and played hard to get a win out of it."

RUU KMIP Jadi Usul Inisiatif DPR RI
Cuma Butuh 2 Minggu Bung!

Arni Richter Receives DCLT Landowner Appreciation Award

August 27, 2002
by Dan Burke
The Door County Land Trust announced at its annual membership meeting last Sunday that Arni Richter is the recipient of the 2002 Ruth Neuman Landowner Appreciation Award. Mr. Richter was nominated for the award in recognition of his recent donation to the Land Trust of nearly 160-acres of undeveloped forest on Washington Island.
"Through the annual Ruth Neuman Award the Door County Land Trust has the distinct privilege of honoring an individual's outstanding contribution to land protection in Door County," explains Dan Burke, Land Trust Executive Director. " Arni Richter is not only deserving of this year's award he epitomizes everything the award stands for: generosity, a sense of community, and a vision for the future. "
This Past winter Mr. Richter donated to the Door County Land Trust 158 acres of land at the southwestern tip of Washington Island as the first step in establishing a wildlife preserve that will also serve as a site for outdoor recreation, education, and sustainable forestry activities. The Land Trust is currently working with islanders, the Washington Island Family Forest group, and the school district in establishing hiking trails, creating outdoor educational curriculum, and planning sustainable forestry workshops on the newly established Richter Community Forest Preserve.
